“Excellent Holiday”
Reviewed 2 February 2013

Me and my family went to Lindos Gardens last year around May time, we stayed for a week which we wish we could of stayed longer but couldn't afford it However the service is excellent and we got on well with all the staff, we had no problems with anything. The pools are both great, they have different nights to suit everyone. they have; happy hour, karaoke, BBQ night and I think they also had a mexico theme one night too although they do not equire for vegeterians. Another great part about the holiday was the fact that Lindos town isn't too far away from the resort and there are plenty of good shops and places to eat out at. I'm hoping to go back this year with my boyfriend as overall I felt it was a good holiday and a trust worthy package.

Room Tip: No matter where the room is you will most likely need A/C unless you get a room in the shade

3rd October – 17th October sorry for the delay although I did put a full holiday report on the forum

Arrived ok with no delays. We were greeted as usual like family, after I had mistakenly taken the wrong case off the coach due to being excited to see everyone. (Luckily hubby ran after the coach and retrieved the correct case) We were taken up to our room (21E) by the golf buggy, we then just dumped the cases and went straight down to have a well earned drink, and take a look at the new pool and seating area which we found to be amazing.(so much has been done in the 8 years we have been going, each year it gets better – if that’s possible) After a few drinks we decided to go and unpack ready for the start of our holiday after having a drink on the balcony taking in the lovely view which we never tire of.1st day is always just chilling out around the pool which is very nice with a swim up bar although it’s not very deep but there is always the infinity pool further up the complex.
I can't really add to my previous reviews over the years just if you are thinking of booking then just do it you will not be disappointed. Thanks again to everyone at LG for yet another great holiday. See you next year.
Lyn

Room Tip: If you do not have walking issues then go for the top of the complex the views are amazing

Just returned from week's holiday at The Lindos Gardens, booked last minute with Olympic. This was our second time in Rhodes, having previously stayed at Lardos, and particularly wanted to return to stay at Lindos.

We went the last full week of the year, so both the resort and town were winding down to some extent. The accommodation at Lindos Gardens is Greek style, therefore basic but containing all necessities. Although it is self-catering, facilities are limited, 2 hot plates and a kettle, enough sups plates glasses cutlery for 4, a pan and a frying pan, so really only suited to light lunches and breakfasts, we found. We do usually tend to eat out on holiday, so don't tend to find this much of a problem. 1 minor maintenance issue was dealt with promptly and efficiently, the apartment was cleaned most days; the only issue we had really was an 'odd' smell in the bathroom, not traced to anything in particular, but I strongly suspect that, as there is NO ventilation whatever in the bathroom (9A), this was linked to damp and condensation, as everything was clean. There is an extra charge for air-con and safety deposit boxes, again this is common in Greece.

The complex itself was fine, most of the upper blocks and pool bars were closed, the main pool and infinity pool are well kept. I agree there would be a real problem with numbers of sunbeds in the main period of the summer. The bar was nice, Jack really funny, and 'happy hour' a must. The food, particularly breakfast was, in our opinion, very expensive - 'Full English' was 9.80 euros, and continental 7.50, very much more expensive than the town. The nearest supermarket is a 5 minute walk, altohugh the ones in Lindos are cheaper. The best food on the menu was the Greek food, home made moussaka and saganaki, yum!!

The best restaurant in Lindos is Stephany's, 2 courses with drinks coming in around 40-50 euros, depending on what was eaten. The Lindian baby shrimp, breaded and eaten whole, were to die for, and service was fantastically good. Museum bar around the corner has all the live football, and a rooftop garden. Lindos main beach is gorgeous, free umbrellas and sunbeds too. A walk up to the acropolis is a must, and the main reason for staying at Lindos Gardens is it has the best view on the island. It's a steep walk into Lindos and back, but a taxi is only 4 euros. The worst food was at Mythos, a mix of under and overcooked chips with the meat loaded on top - yuk!

We hired a car in Lindos at Rodos cars, far better value than through the rep, we got a bigger car for 10 euros less for 3 days, with all CDW etc. Rhodes is full of historical and resort places to go - Kamiros, one of the 3 ancient Rhodian cities, The castle at Monolithos, and The Old Town of Rhodes all deserve a mention. We also went to Paranissi, one of only 7 places in the world where 2 seas meet.

We would go back to Lindos Gardens if in the area again, although it probably would be too busy for us in the summer in Lindos, with the tiny streets etc. Yammas!

Room Tip: Higher rooms have the best view, but a steep walk to get there

Me and my friends were on holiday in August and we had a lovely time in Lindos for the most part. The town was lovely and at first Lindos Gardens seemed like great value for money. I'm hesitant to write a totally negative review because there were many positives to our stay, however we were completely taken aback on our final day when we were asked to pay 40 euros for a broken sink in our 4 bed apartment. The sink had an extremely large crack in it which wasn't causing a problem at the time. We mistakenly neglected to report it assuming that the hotel knew about it from their checks. A friend dropped a bottle of water into the sink and an entire half of the sink fell off. We tried not to make this too much of a problem especially considering that the sink could have caused some serious damage to our friend had it fallen on her, however we went downstairs to the night time manager straight away (who was lovely about it) and told us it would be fixed the next day and that would be the end of it. he was completely apologetic. All was fine however until someone came in the following day to fix the sink but was also taking pictures of the surrounding room. We were quite confused as to why they were taking pictures of our room and not just the bathroom and were made to feel very uncomfortable as the man and the maid discussed us in front of us in Greek, but decided to leave it. On our last day we were told we had 40 euro charges for the sink which we were not told about at any point. It was ridiculously cheeky the way it was handled let alone charging it in the first place. We tried to make a case for ourselves but the ridiculously rude day time manager (completely taking advantage of the fact that we were young girls) gave us barely any explanation for why WE should be charged when it was clearly a fault in the room already. He then by way of explanation told us that there was no crack when the room was checked and that our room was a complete mess and the maid had complained about it. I will hold up my hands and say that the room was messy with clothes as we were 4 girls, however the maid was lovely every time she came into the room and had she said that she was unable to clean properly we would have tidied straight away. I was absolutely furious about this excuse for a charge and would like to stress that had the hotel really believed the sink to be our fault they would have charged a lot more than 40 euros for a new sink and a fitting. They tried to take the minimum amount so they could get what they could out of us The manager then walked out of the reception as we were discussing the issue and went into his office as a way of concluding the argument before we could make any points for ourselves. I can guarantee that had my parents been there, particularly my dad, we never would have been treated with such disrespect. The way the manager handled himself was utterly appalling particularly given the fact that we were not making a scene but behaving rationally and trying to understand why we were being charged. We couldn't refuse the payment either because we had nowhere to go until 1 am that evening when our coach would pick us up and had we not payed we may not have been able to get a coach to the airport. We spoke to our Olympic holidays rep in the lobby who suggested that we pay the charges and deal with it and appeal once we were home.

Had this disaster not happened I would not have anything in particular to complain about other than very poor and slow service at times. I work in a pub and had the bar been left unattended at any time, let alone 10 whole minutes then there would be a major problem. The wait for food and drinks during the day sometimes was borderline ridiculous. Nevertheless the pool area was lovely and relaxing and our room was suitable. Olympic holidays set us up well with transfers etc and the hotel would be great for a cheap holiday, if you don't get caught up in a scheme to get money out of you to make up for the great value. I'd like to stress that it would take nothing short of a sledge hammer to break a sink in two, the charge was ridiculous and I will never accept that in a room with 4 sensible girls simply enjoying a relaxing holiday that anything could have been done to break a sink. It's ridiculous and my advice would be to think carefully about your stay here.

Just got back from a wonderful week at the Lindos Gardens with my Daughter. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and not at all pushy. The pools were beautiful with plenty of loungers and umbrellas and the whole hotel was kept spotlessly clean.

Room Tip: Upper floors have beautiful views of the acropolis.

Excellent stay at LINDOS GARDENS. We stayed for 2 weeks in a studio apartment over looking the pool. The cleanliness was good and the lovely maid folded the towels in a shape of a swan!! The Chef was excellent, food outstanding always keen to cook exactly what you wanted. Jacks bar and 'happy hour' was fun and everyone gathered together to have a chat. Sam Key the Olympic rep was so knowledgeable about the history of Rhodes and we went to the island of Symi------a must. Overall everyone at Lindos Gardens was very keen to look after you and make it an enjoyable holiday. One of the best islands we have visited. Thanks to all the staff and Sam. Sue and Chris Ellis.

I have stayed in Lindos about 15 times and this was my first stay at the LIndos Gardens. I was really impressed. The pool area was lovely and very relaxing and it was always easy to get a sunbed. The food at the hotel was really nice and the evening entertainment was really good and ideal on the nights that you didn't feel like walking down into to the village. For those who didn't fancy walking down into the village a taxi would be therein minutes to take you into the village at a cost of 6 Euros - a taxi back up the hill cost 5 Euros and is highly recommended! I felt that the pool area and atmoshere at Lindos Gardens was much nicer than that of the much more expesive Lindos View just up the road. I would definitely stay there again!
