We have just returned from a two week holiday in Lindos Gardens and could not recommend it highly enough. Having initially been very concerned about the hilly aspect of the apartments, particularly as my partner has gone through extensive knee surgery, we were delighted to discover that there is actually a lift which takes you from the first to the third level. Aside from that, there is really only about a ten to fifteen metre incline (with spaced out steps as well as an optional pathway) to navigate before you reach the lift, so whilst we were on a higher level, the "climb" was absolutely fine.

More of a problem though was the steep, winding road from the main arrival area of the town, (only a five minute walk from the apartments) where the main car park/ bus station is located, down to Lindos village. A busy road, with Mercedes taxis constantly whizzing up and down and not a lot of space for pedestrians who constantly clung to the walls edging the road to allow the cars to pass. Better to pay the four euros for a taxi down which only takes a couple of minutes.

We arrived at 6.00am to be greeted by Savas, a lovely man who seemed to be constantly on reception keeping an eye on things and ensuring that no intruders entered the complex. After having been burgled on a previous holiday in Majorca, we felt very safe at all times. He was extremely efficient in registering us and quickly arranging for a golf buggy to transport our luggage to the room. He was continually helpful throughout the holiday, calling us taxis and just generally helping everyone with any queries.

The room itself was beautiful, with a wonderful view of the Acropolis. It was a spacious studio room, very clean with a fridge etc and a shower that constantly had hot water, whatever time we used it and a lovely maid who called everyday. We hired a safe at thirty euros for the fortnight and air conditioning for the second week as the temperature reached 40 degrees. Prior to that, we just left our patio doors open at night and listened to the crickets and to the donkeys "talking" to each other from the distant fields.

The first week we spent time around the various pools, where the bar staff, particularly Cloud, were fantastic. (He even lent us his mobile charger when ours was playing up). Everything is run like clock work, with an army of staff who, from 6.00am, are constantly cleaning the pool, which was crystal clear, hosing down steps and generally keeping the place immaculate. It is a slick operation and run to a very high standard. The staff are constantly around to help, but are not intrusive. A few evenings, we were still enjoying the dipping sun, the mellow jazz music floating from the bar and the two for one happy hour (Jack's two drinks for the price of one 6.30pm - 8.30pm) as the staff were straightening out the sun beds for the next day, but they just worked around us quietly. No-one ever asked us to move. Also there is a clear policy of not "reserving sun beds without occupying them, as the towels will be removed" which was fantastic. It meant that, whatever time of day we arrived at the pool, there were always sunbeds available.

For anyone who wished to stay around the complex in the evening, there was a stream of events, a Greek night, bbq and live music where happy punters of all ages, young and old would dance barefoot around the bar to Van Morrison, Simon and Garfunkel and Nina Simone. It was all very easy going.

As the apartments were so close to the bus station, we spent quite a few days at Lardos beach, which was much more spacious and less cramped than Lindos beach. The bus is only one Euro sixty each way to Lardos Bay, where you can off at the Atlantas restaurant and enjoy a lovely lunch and great hospitality before snorkeling or simply floating in the crystal clear waters and staring at the sky. It's also much cooler than Lindos with a lovely breeze.

We also went to Rhodes town few times, five Euros each way on the bus and enjoyed walking along the Marina and dinner in Old Town which was so pretty.

Overall Lindos Gardens is a wonderful place to stay. As well as the lovely rooms, friendly staff and great location, there are so many little extras. They have a little library at the bar, which we used several time, swings for children, two children's' pools, mini golf and a tennis court if you are feeling energetic enough for a game. Ten out of ten :)

I have read some of the other reviews, as I did before I booked but I cannot relate to the glowing reports about this place.
The apartment was very basic. The beds rock hard and had very sharp corners on the chipboard bases. The pillows were flat and the towels past their best.
We had to dismantle the shower head and clean it because there was so much limescale, it was only spraying out of a fraction of the holes. The shower curtain rail was holding up by luck not expert fitting.
There was no plug or bowl in the sparsely kitted out kitchenette-I always though that preserving water was paramount on the islands. Our room was cleaned the day after we arrived and it absurdly stank of dirty water, after the cleaner had left. The mop was then put on the floor, outside our room and deposited a pile of hair on the tiles, which remained there for the next two days.
On the plus side, the pool area has been well developed, although there is either loud music and/ or three large TV's competing against each other. The Reception staff were very helpful and it was manned all the time.
The Restaurant menu is very limited and the Greek salad that was presented as 'the best I will have ever eaten' was bad enough to send me down to the village each evening( along with the annoying waiter).
Air con is expensive, as is the very small safe in the wardrobe in the rooms.
The complex is built on a very steep incline, ask for one of the lower rooms if you cannot impersonate a mountain goat!!

Room Tip: Low room if you are not a hill climber!

We returned to the UK the day before yesterday after spending a week at Lindos Gardens and can't recommend it highly enough. I took my 16 yr old daughter and her friend - the staff were fantastic, the accommodation and facilities were great and the views are stunning. Lindos Gardens is about a 5/10 minute walk from Lindos Village and the hill isn't too bad a walk. There are a couple of Supermarkets within a 5 minute walk of the complex in either direction. We took a bus to Rhodes town for the day, the bus goes from the square outside the appartments and was only €5 per person each way. We all agree that we loved Lindos and loved our stay at Lindos Gardens and would definitely return to stay again.....efcharisto to all your staff from Zoe, Meg and Daisy (2G)

Just came back after 7 night stay at lindos gardens my first visit here, but my partner has been a few times and recommended it for us to go for a relaxing holiday.
Now I can see why he has come back a few times!!! Great hotel with a good location to the town of lindos. All that you needed for a self catering hotel from the facilities to the room!! Our room was situated at the top of the hotel a bit of a walk but worth the view once you get up there. Mainly off all the staff were amazing a big thank you to Lulia, Cloud and Jack for making us feel welcomed and the laughs we had!!! We will definitely be returning next year!!

The best place I have stayed in Greece. These apartments are set in the cliff so the furthest are reached by many steps/steep slopes - but the views are great and it is really quiet! There are 2 pools - the main being quite shallow but with a swim up bar and lovely sun beds, and the infinity pool higher up in the complex is smaller but deeper - and has great views of Lindos Acropolis! Everywhere was clean and fresh as if it had recently been painted. Our room was fairly modern with plenty of storage and could have slept 3 but the beds were rather hard. The kitchenette was fairly basic, as expected - but we only wanted a fridge and kettle. The bathroom had a constantly dripping tap but otherwise was fine. The staff are really friendly. Most of the guests were British. Air con was expensive (€49pw and €70 if we'd arrived a week later!) but acceptable in my mind as the apartments were so cheap. 2 or 3 supermarkets are nearby. The village is 10-15 minutes walk away and is wonderful - plenty of rooftop dining in the many tavernas! The food was superb - not one bad meal in 2 weeks - the steaks melt in your mouth. You can easily get a cab back (€4) if you don't want to walk up the hill plus there is a restaurant within the complex. These are apartments and a resort that I would certainly recommend!

Room Tip: The rooms near the infinity pool are quieter and have good views - but be prepared for climbing up the steps!
