On arrival we were greeted by pleasant / efficient staff. The reception area is lovely with modern art pieces including a huge two storey chrome tree. It was spotlessly clean and set the standard for the rest of the holiday. Our luggage was removed from the hire car by the bell boy and placed into a golf cart and we were efficiently transported to our room and shown how things worked and where certain items were kept.

The room was very spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. It is was very modern and had everything we needed except for an iron and ironing board for creased clothes. tea/coffee facilities were avialable.

We had great views of the sea/pools/cliffs.

Only BBC world news available from the UK - not a problem for as we don't watch tv on holiday, although a cartoon channel would be good for kids, if they are to stay at this hotel.

We went to dinner on the first evening and gentlemen are required to wear full length trousers. Men can wear shorts for breakfast and lunch only. Adelina [matradee] was lovely and always couteous and always made you feel welcome. The dining staff were very efficient and pleasant. BE AWARE - the drinks are very expensive at 3.5 euros for a soft drink and 4.5 eurous for a beer. you have to pay for water.

There was always a good selection of food everyday and even our 8 yr old son could always find something to eat. Breakfast catered for all nations, so an English breakfast could be made up, along with pastries and cold meats for our foreign friends. there was always pleanty of fruit available.

The pools areas were always clean and there was always space on the sunbeds, so no fighting in the mornings. Beach towels are provided and can be changed daily. The private beach is pleasant, but stoney, however, the hotel have done their best by putting boadwalks down. You can hire a large parasol and double bed for 20 euros a day. We used the free normal parasols and beds, which are more than comfortable.

The pools were a comfortable temperature once you got in.

The pool bars were pleasant and the staff efficient and nice enough.

What i will say is that the staff don't really have the oppotunity to earn tips as most things are signed for and you settle the bill at the end of the holiday, so be prepared for abig bill!

I believe the staff are likely to be more friendly IF they knew they could get tips more readily.

You are likely to spend 15 Euros/person for a beefburger and a drink at lunch! But it is nice.

The spa facilities used by my wife were good and slightly more expensive than the UK, but certainly not too expensive.

Nicola in guest relations was great and took on as much feedback as possible, she also arranged flowers which I organised before our arriva in Rhodesl as it was our anniversary.

A big thank you to Nicola!

The zen bar which opens at 6pm has some great views, but the service was attroceous at times. some people were waiting for over half an hour to get served and this occured on several nights - a big downside. They often had two waitresses and just one bar man serving a lot of people. The decor is lovely, but some of the seats are seriously uncomfortable.

The evening entertainment was tow men playing/singing soft back ground music. Not my choice of music and the bar seemed busier when they were not playing.

Free wifi was available either in the recption area or in the Zen bar when open.

For a so called 5 star we were disappointed with having to pay 12 Euros for gym facilities, where at many other hotels they would be free.

You have to pay for drinking water in your room, except for the two free small bottles on arrival. This should be free every day!

We were lucky to have a hire car and I'd not want to walk to Lindos in the heat of the day. A good 20 minute walk.

I agree with others that this is a new hotel which wants to be a 5 star, but only achieves a good 4 star.

A slight downside was the noise form the adjacent hotel, as their music was louder than that from Aquagrande, the good thing is the music stopped at midnight, so not that bad. The adjacent hotel seemed to have more life to it!

The hotel needs to work out who they are catering for, it certainly isn't a family hotel. I beleive it needs to be a couples only hotel. If younger children are to stay, they need some more facilities. It's fine for children up to 3 years of age. Older couples would enjoy the hotel.

Room Tip: Be prepared for big bill at the end of the holiday

We have just returned from a very relaxing week in Lindos at the Aquagrand hotel. The hotel left me with mixed feelings:

Pros:
+ Beautiful breathtaking entrance and reception area with views out to sea
+ Check in staff were courteous and polite
+ Room (we stayed in a standard room) was well thought out, very comfortable and luxurious with high end linen and towels etc
+ General architecture of the hotel was very modern and furniture/fittings were of a high standard
+ Really nice dining area at the main buffet restaurant
+ Food at the buffet was consistently of a high standard and well presented. We ate very well over the course of the week and pleased to report no chips at dinner time!

Cons:
- Price of drinks at this hotel is truly scandalous! Others have mentioned it in their reviews and I really hope the management decide to do something about it. This is definitely the reason why the bar and restaurant areas were lacking in atmosphere. As several other reviewers mention I have stayed at luxury hotels around the World and never seen such high prices. I'm fairly certain if they lowered the prices by 40% their bar takings would be MUCH higher because of volume. We saw people drinking at the Memories hotel which was opposite and also in their rooms due to the prohibitive prices
- Depending on which member of staff was around for mealtimes we received a mixed service. The very pretty greek lady who welcomes guests was excellent, really friendly and shows a genuine interest. Shame that the same could not be said for the guy who did a similar job, I found him bordering on rude at times. Waiters do their best but we found every mealtime to be very noisy with at least a piece of crockery/glass etc being smashed by one of them!
- The pools are FREEZING!!! Literally mostpeople dipped a toe and decided not to bother. It would be lovely to heat them up a couple of degrees
- No pool side drink service. All other 5 star hotels I have experienced at least make a couple of rounds during the day with cold flannels for their guests, complimentary fruit etc - there was none of this here
- Certain parts of the hotel are already starting to look a bit shabby. The corridor leading to our room (327) was showing wear and tear with big chips out of the plaster, dirty stairs leading down to the pool etc
- Maid service wasn't great. I'm pretty sure our bathroom didn't get cleaned properly during the week

All in all, I think the Aquagrand has the making of a really fabulous hotel. If the management chooses to listen to feedback and make some adjustments then I will definitely look to stay here again if I return to Lindos. Finally, we saw 3 weddings taking place during our stay and I have to say they all looked great I think this would be a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion.

We went to the Aquagrand on the 8th of June for a week for a wedding in Lindos. We were very excited to be going with our 7 month old son and reserved a sea facing room with private pool.

We booked with Olympic Holidays which were a complete shambles throughout. They have been operating for quite a while but still so many mistakes. We waited on the coach that was transferring us for over an hour to be told they were waiting for another couple who turned out to be on another bus. An hour later turned up at the Aquagrand reception no rep there and we arrived with about 14 other couples our poor son was now hot and hungry as check in took about an hour also we were told the room we booked was not available so after arguing with the reception staff for 20 minutes they suddenly found the correct room so my pe,reception of the hotel was already bad as I was forced to get angry!

Our room was great and semi private pool was nice. If you are going to book a room with a pool make sure you book one facing the sea as the rooms with private pools with side sea views are not private at all the main path to the hotel is alongside those pools so there is no privacy at all and the sun hits those pools in the early afternoon where as the sea facing pools get sun all day until about 4pm.

We stayed half board and the food is really good quality all buffet style. You can swap your evening meal for lunch if you wish to visit another restaurant in the evening. I suggest not taking a child under 12 months as getting hot water from restaurant staff is a mammoth task every single time I got given ice, cold water and an empy pot to heat our baby's water I would blame the language barrier but this happened virtually every meal sitting!

The bar looks gorgeous but the service is very slow and is table service only.

The reception was not helpful and Olympic holidays were useless.

The hotel manager was on the ball and so was the restaurant management but all the other staff were more like Fawlty Towers trained.

This hotel is not very friendly for young kids especially if sterilising bottles, also young children were often being told off for having fun running around etc. I am fine with this maybe the hotel should be adults only.

The nail in the coffin for Olympic Holidays was when we were collected by the coach for the return journey to the airport the driver had no list of passengers he was picking up and forgot 4 so after getting half way to the airport we had to turn back to collect them doubling the transfer time where the hell was the Olympic rep as we had a lot of passengers who were with Olympic at the hotel 30-40.

Strategic airlines was very good, considering Monarch stopped supplying Olympic flights. It was an airbus 320 from Lgw with no delays either end.

A quick summary perfect hotel and setting but no service, good food but no service, nice bar, no service. Olympic rubbish.

A new and very stylish hotel with very friendly staff. The buffet was great and so was the view from the room. The location is very quiet; 20 - 30 minutes to the next village. Not for people who are looking for parties. Mainly couples and families with babies, but no (loud) children. Everything very clean and well organized. However, it's difficult to get into the sea (stones). Bathing shoes required. Don't forget to bring your diving mask - the views of the reef in front of the hotel are fantastic with lots of fish to watch. The water is very clean. We loved the scenery and Limnos. I would return to this place anytime. Only downside: drinks are very expensive and no Greek music at all to be heard and no other entertainment.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view!

I stayed with friends for a week in early June after a recommendation by a friend who had stayed the previous year (who also travelled with us this time). Upon arrival the hotel certainly had the 'wow' factor, the reception area is lovely, as is the bar downstairs. Our room was lovely but the only gripe there is that we had paid for a executive sea view room but were given a standard room and were unable to change due ot the hotel being fully booked....we had paid £180 extra for this. Our friends, however, were given the room they paid for and our other friends, who booked with Olympic and had paid for a standard room were given the best rooms - the one with a private pool! Slightly unfair but as we basically just slept in our room, it didn't matter to us and every single room is of such a great standard it didn't matter.

The food is really good, with a great selection at both breakfast and dinner and the staff in the restaurant are fantastic and extremely helpful.

The prices of drinks is extortionate and that is coming from someone that socialises in London a lot! 10.5 Euros for a cocktail and 9.5 Euros for a spirit and mixer? Not great when you can go into Lindos and get the same for 4 Euros.

The pool bar is great to have if you're getting a drink whilst sunbathing but the menu selection, should you wish to eat, is extremely limited and there are no small bar snacks available, which is all you would want really at lunchtime, especially if you are there on a half board basis which most people are. And there is nowhere else you go to in the vicinity to eat so you have no option really. Also, small gripe but they don't sell ice creams or ice lollies, which is a shame as sometimes that is all you want during the day.

The wifi access - or lack of - was also a pain as you had to pay for this by the hour, although it was free for a limited number of hours in the bar in the evening - this should either be extneded to being free all day here or free everywhere, after all you have paid enough already to stay there so it wouldnt' hurt.

This probably sounds like I found a lot of problems with the hotel but these are small gripes for what otherwise is an amzing hotel and one I would definitely go back to - but it would be nice if the hotel could take some of the above into consieration for later on in the summer season.
