“Wonderful, peaceful hotel”
Reviewed 22 June 2013

From the moment you walk into the Reception area the beauty of the hotel and grounds is obvious. Behind the Reception desk are ceiling to floor windows with a view of the sea. We were greeted with a glass of champagne each and a warm, scented hand towel. It is so quiet and peaceful. We did not have one disturbed night's sleep. The rooms are spotlessly clean and a good size. The balcony with sea-view is perfect to sit and have a drink. The grounds are beautiful with plants and trees as you walk down through the resort to the swimming pools and beach. The pools were clean and often we were the only two swimming. There were always plenty of sun-loungers - even on the beach. This was my favourite place with a breeze coming in from the sea and the waves lapping up near the sun-loungers. The beach is pebbly and they do sell 'beach shoes' in the hotel boutique but if you go into Lindos you can buy the same shoes for a third of the price - well worth having as the sea bed is quite rocky too. Swimming is very safe as you can stand up on large rocks for a long way out. The restaurant staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. On our first evening I told the manager I was vegetarian and he walked me round the whole serving area to show what was available for me, did the same at breakfast the next morning. Someone else has said they served tinned fruit but we had only fresh fruits and there was a good choice. The walk into Lindos takes around 25 minutes but it is worth stopping at St Paul's Bay on the way - sandy beach and lovely little chapel. Lindos is a very old town with small streets full of shops - and watch out for the donkeys! Overall this was one of the best, relaxing holidays and I would love to go back again.

Room Tip: Room 215. In the hotel, balcony with sea view and very quiet.

We have just spent a relaxing week at the Aqua Grand, the bedrooms, bathrooms were of a very high standard, beds were so comfortable that we slept so well.
At all times there were plenty of empty sun loungers around both pools on on the beach, staff were always pleasant and helpful.
We had booked half board and enjoyed the buffet breakfast, but after dinner on the first evening, which is buffet every night, we decided to switch our evening meal for lunch instead, as we object to paying to stay in a 5star hotel and spend time walking around a dining room with a plate in my hand with 200 other people picking up the same food each evening, the only other option was paying extra to eat in the alacarte restaurant which was very expensive, with the hotel only offering a 20% discount for half board customers.
If you decide to use the Gym there is a charge of 5 euros each visit, which is not mentioned when booking, and does not include towels or water!!
We were lucky enought to have hired a car, which was helpful as Lindos is a 30min walk away, but enabled us to visit some nice local restaurants, Kyma and Philosophia in Pefka, are really good.
The hotel beach is man made mainly Peebles , with access to the sea not for the elderly, as it has a rocky bottom, with shoes needed .

If trip advisor allowed half votes I would have voted 4.5 as we have had a wonderful week stay here.
Not everything went to plan when we first got delayed 5 hours due to the French air strike, but on arrival we were greeted with refreshments and taken to our room on a golf buggy. It was around 4am whilst the room was lovely it wasn't what I had book... I booked deluxe with sea view and ended up with pool view however I was too tired and still very impressed with room we had.
We stayed HB, food was served buffet style, both breakfast and dinner has lovely and well catered for all dishes were constantly replenished, only minor gripe here was the music played in dinning areas which can be heard next to main pool is the cd with consists on around 4 songs played morning to evening over and over and over and yes you guessed it over again (infant it's playing over in my head as I write this)
As other reviewers have already mentioned drinks are very over priced....a small glass of wine €7.50, bottles cheapest €28 up over, local beer €4.50 , cocktails €10, i believe this is the contributing factor to why reviews say the hotel lacks atmosphere which it does slightly. when you compare these to the prices you pick these up in Lindos on or Pefkos (both around 25mins walk or 5/10 min taxi or bus journey away) where prices are around €1 for a mythos beer! It's a must to go to both Lindos and Pefkos both resorts entirely different, Lindos being my favourite with its small winding streets and Greek charm this traditional places is so romantic on a night time where you can sit and admire the view from the many roof bar and restaurant terraces.
Best part of holiday had to be snorkelling at the hotels beach it was fantasist, in my opinion on par with the Dominican Republic however it's much cheaper to pick up a snorkelling set from the many supermarkets in Lindos as the mini market at the hotel is about 3 times the prices.
Overall fantasist holiday if they sorted out these small but significant faults I would return time and time again!

We have just returned from our second visit to the Aquagrand. We had a fantastic stay! The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and has 2 pools and a pebble beach to choose from. Their is also waitress service at both.
We were B&B and the breakfasts had everything you could think of to eat, omelettes, pancakes, pastries, fruit, bacon, eggs etc. the lunches at both the beach bar and pool bar are excellent quality and the food is plentiful, we would often just share a main dish.
the rooms are beautiful and clean with large balconies and I would think all would have sea views. Towels are available from the spa, you pay a 20 euro returnable deposit for them and can change them every two days. The staff are all extremely friendly, Panos, Sophis, Yannis, and all the team made us so welcome we didn't want to leave and in fact hope to return again in September!
We walked into Lindos every night and got a taxi back for 6 euros. Takes about 25 minutes to walk in. Lindos town is so pretty and has numerous cosy bars and romantic rooftop restaurants to choose from. This is a beautiful, relaxing hotel and definitely a 5 star excellent experience!

We have just spent 2 weeks at this hotel and it was magical. Grounds beautiful, lovely sculptures and planting very well designed with plenty of space to wander around. Plenty of sunbeds, both by the pools and on the beach. All the staff could not have been more helpful. Food very good, we ate in the beach bar, Olivinos and the fish restaurant where we had the Friday night lobster special, which was lovely. I agree that many guests did not dress appropriately for evening dinner at the Pentapolis restaurant, with tee-shirts, shorts or trainers and may be the hotel should be more strict on this. The only problem we had was the 'traditional Greek wedding' which was held on the second Saturday of our visit. There was no warning prior to many areas being closed because of the wedding, which had 500 guests. The music was very loud and went on until 4.45am. Staff were very apologetic the next day, but in future they need to give guests at least a days warning of such events. We had a room with a private pool which we hardly used because the water was so cold so wouldn't do that again unless the water is heated which it could easily be by solar power. We would go back though, it was lovely.

my husband and I stayed here recently for our honeymoon and we loved the place! we splashed out for a princess suite with private pool and sea view, with this we also got access to the spa facilities, a private beach gazebo with waiter service and private dining. The hotel staff made us feel very special throughout our stay and we found them all to be very friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself, I felt, was excellently situated, it was in its own bay between Lindos and Pefkos, 3 mins by taxi to either town, we spent a lot of time in both resorts. I noticed some reviews saying it was a bit far from Lindos! I honestly couldn't agree with this. After having visited Lindos and the hotels around it, the majority are just on the outskirts and this is because Lindos is a very old ,very compact town and accommodation in the centre tends to be private villas or studios with few amenities, so it depends what you want from your holiday, for us it was a lot about the luxury of our accommodation.
The hotel had a main restaurant for breakfast and dinner, we ate breakfast every morning and had no complaints, it was very varied and catered for all tastes. we also ate dinner here a few times, but this was because we wanted to explore the towns around us. on the occasions we had dinner, we enjoyed it and found it a great way to sample traditional greek food that we hadn't tried before. the waiters were all very efficient.
The hotel also had a beach bar and pool bar as well as a seafood restaurant serving dinner, we did not try these , so can't comment.
Rooms were spacious and our room had a daybed, table and chairs, comfy sunloungers and pool. From what I could see of other rooms, they all had decent sized balconies or terraces.
The beach which is private for residents at the hotel was small, but had plenty space and sunloungers, it was a sand and shingle beach and the water was crystal clear, the hotel offers waiter service from the beach bar here.
Taxis into Lindos were 8euro from hotel and 6euro back and the same price into Pefkos!
overall we had a great holiday and would love to return, the staff treat you well, the food is great and the whole complex has a feeling of calm and peacefulness.
if you are looking for a break away from it all, but still close to everything, then book here, you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: If you can splash out to a private pool suite, you get that extra privacy and some dining perks too...

Fantastic building with great pieces of sculptures in all areas of the hotel, including reception, rooms, pool etc. but hotel has no atmosphere, staff in restaurant insufficient with restaurant manager being ineffective with very poor customer service ideas. He has no idea at customer service, attention to detail and we should accept poor service. Would not employ him to wash dishes never mind look after customers.
The food is poor, breakfast includes tinned fruit not fresh, fish and meats over cooked.

Room Tip: Fantastic hotel but don't expect good food or service in the restaurant
