We stayed at the Aquagrand in September 2010 and had a great time. the Hotel itself is lovely, superb reception, grounds, bars, pools, rooms and views. We stayed there on a half board basis for 10 nights, the food and service were great the only downer was the prices for drinks, 3.50 for a soft drink, 4.80 for a small beer (330ml) for example. The staff are very helpfull and friendly (especially the Bell boys). If you want a very relaxing break then this is the place, it is very quiet so if you want activities you will have to look elsewhere. I would definately stay here again if I went back to Rhodes, the only thing I would recommend is to go Bed and Breakfast as Lindos Town is Beautiful and has so many good restaurants. All in all Lindos is the best part of Rhodes and the Aquagrand is one of the best Hotels on teh Island.

The main building is low rise, 3 storeys, and very modern in design. There are also a number of individual low rise buildings. This is it's first season in business. It is situated 1500M from Lindos on the road to Pefkos.
The hotel is beautifully fitted with high quality furnishings and well maintained - there is a wonderful selection of chairs and sofas around the hotel and grounds. All staff from the Manager to the Bell Boy were keen to be helpful and friendly. The restaurant served a wide range of well cooked and presented dishes that would suit all palates. We stayed in a Deluxe room that was spacious, well equipped and kept spotlessly clean.

There are a number of pool areas in addition to the prvate beach. All have an adequate amount of loungers and parasols. Beach towels are provided and changed as and when required. There is light entertainment in the evenings in the Zen bar.

We spent 6 nights in mid Sept as our Mini Moon, haveing spent the previous 10 days in Italy getting Married.

The whole purpose of the trip was to completely switch off after the crazyness of organising the Wedding and for that I can not fault the AquaGrand.
By the time we left i can honestly say I cant remember when or if I'd ever felt so chilled out before.

We booked a room with it's own pool and we're really please to get one pretty much on the beach front........there are a few around the main pool which are quite open and dont offer much cover from everyone else.
The room was great and ticked ever box in terms of comfot and relaxation

There were however a couple of gripes about the hotel overall.
The main one being that if you want to use the Gym facilites you have to pay €50 per head for a week......this does come with a 'Free' treatment in the spa, but to be honest I think that's pretty cheeky of a hotel where the room costs are not exaclty cheap (never had to pay for that kind of thing elsewhere).

The other slightly annoying thing was that the service in the main restaurant was really hit and miss.
For the most part the staff were attentive but on a couple of nights we were left without drinks for about 15 minutes (even though they took the order pretty much on seating us, and we asked more than once where they were).
Certainly not enough to ruin the experience, but again if they want to be a top hotel it's the kind of thing they need to get right.
We we're not there in the height of the season (i'd say the hotel wasy only around 50% full) so unless they employ a lot more staff in the busy periods I could see that being quite an issue.

Still, overall it was a great place and delivered on what we needed........just a shame there are a few little things that really could be fixed with a little bit more attention

I've stayed in a number of five star resorts around the world which I've loved and I would not describe myself as picky. So I'll start with the good stuff first. The hotel is as beautiful as the photos suggest, the rooms were big, beds comfy, bathrooms good. Both pools were lovely (if a bit chilly in october) with plenty of loungers. Some of the staff were marvellous (in the spa, and the restaurant managers/ greeters were friendly and seemed to be on their game). I thought the buffet food (breakfast and dinner) was also of a high standard, although their main courses for lunch and dinner were a bit hit and miss. So now for the stuff that wasn't so good. We arrived late and were told sandwiches would be brought to our room later. When we came back from the bar, no sandwiches. When we called reception, we were told we must have been "missed off" but that all the kitchens were now closed. When I said we were hungry, I just got silence down the phone! Not even an apology. An hour later something masquerading as a sandwich in cling film was brought to our room. So we tried to get the DVD to work to take our minds of things (but the volume was ridiculously low) and there was no power lead for the IPOD dock. I sweet technical guy turned up who fiddled a bit but no joy. He said he would ask reception to remove the volume control on the TV but then never came back. The lunchtime service in the pool bar was astonishing to experience. Two women who scowled and tutted their way through the week - ridiculously slow, unsmiling, forgetful and downright unpleasant. In the bar, the service was mostly invisible. Which was a blessing in some ways as when they did appear, it verged on the intimidating. On our last night, having been sent to the bar to wait for an outside table in the restaurant, we ordered two glasses of wine which arrived with the statement "your table is ready but you can't take the glasses dowstairs". "Why not?", "You just can't" , "will the keep the table?"...... "No". Positively surreal. When we finally got to the restaurant, we related this to the manager there who promptly brought us a complimentary bottle of wine - but what an unneccessary thing to happen. I'll stop there will examples of the frankly bizarre service we experienced. Senior management was nowhere to be found (have you noticed no management responses on this site? that says everything). The service was symptomatic of this. As was the meaness of the hotel's attitude - complinetary water only on the first night, the first thing they hand you at reception is a letter telling you not to steal the towels, and you have to pay 50 euros a week to use the gym, even if you have a treatment. Clearly, the management attitiude to guests is that we are a neccessary evil to the goal of making money. What a shame as it could be an amaizing place, memorable for all the right reasons. Now for some hopefully useful info - large glass of house white wine is 6 euros and its good. Lunch at the pool bar (if you can bear it) salads around 10 euros, mains around 15. A G and T will set you back 7 euros. Always ask for a glass of water which is free otherwise you will get a bottle ( 4 euros for a largeish one). There is a mini market in thr hotel where big 2L bottles cost 1 euro. You can go to the supermarket on the way to Lidos and pick up alcohol and supplies even cheaper - worth the short taxi ride. But get screw tops as no bottle opener in the room. Lindos bars and restaurants are excellent, cheaper than the hotel but not as cheap as you might expect (dinner for two plus wine cost us around 50 to 70 Euros a night).

having stayed in Lindos 8 years ago at the Lindos Memories ( which is next door), we never thought this hotel would top that, but couldnt believe how beautiful it was, the decor, the rooms were amazing! the beds were very comfortable with a choice of pillows, the staff did their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible, usually we never book half board but did this time and i have to say the food was lovely with a fantastic choice for breakfast.

we will definitely be back !!!

This hotel is beautifully designed with great views from the almost private beach. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily and the furniture is modern and comfortable. The breakfasts are amazing with every option that could be wished for. The hotel is a 5 minute drive to Lindos town which makes it easy to visit but far enough away to enjoy the peace. The beach is a pebble beach and swimming shoes are recommended as it is easy to get small cuts to the feet otherwise. The staff in the restaurants, cleaners and beach attendant could not be faulted and were friendly and helpful. However this hotel is let down by the front reception staff. Their attitude seems to be that everything is too much trouble. They are also disorganised. We arrived 24 hours late as our flight was delayed and were told that our room was given to someone else. We were then given a room which had not been cleaned with dirty towels in the bathroom. We were moved to a room which then did not have any towels at all. After complaining we were moved to a third room which was lovely. However we were told the next day that we were going to have to move again because the room was a grade above what we had paid for. After complaining the hotel reception eventually let us stay in this room but this is not a five star service. I am sure that these measures will iron out if the staff were given more training. All in all this is a beautiful hotel that I would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Lindos.

Excellent stay other than the evening meal on the first night which was a dried up sandwich. It left a poor first impression but after that everything was first class. We stayed on a half board basis and the buffet meals were excellent, plenty of choice and very tasty.

We had a sea facing room with balcony, as with the rest of the hotel very pleasant and clean.

Ideally you need a car if you want to see the rest of the island but locally Lindos and its Acropolis are very nice, especially in the evenings
