We ended up at the Astrium following an outrageous handling of our original booking with Last Minute dot com. Contractually 4 days before we left they could not provide the suite with private pool at another resort we had booked 4 months before. We wanted like for like at the Atrium but they refused to pay the difference even though it was their issue.
Fortunately the excellent reception staff were able to upgrade our room that we had to settle for for an excellent rate. This was indicative of the excellent service we received from EVERY member of staff we encountered from room cleaning, porters, spa staff to waiters and waitresses. Everyone had a cheery kali Mera/Spera every day.
Yes the complex is slightly out of the way but it's a genuinely relaxing place. We had a Villa with Private pool but we agreed that we would have been happy with any room location. The pools were clean not crowded and the cliental were respectful and a majority made the effort to dress for dinner.
Food was copious and varied ensuring all tastes were accounted for.
If we don't go again it is purely that Rhodes wouldn't be a destination of choice and we were there only for a delightful family wedding. But we are tempted to return.

Room Tip: Just be mindful of the aspect. Some rooms will lose sunshine on their pools or balconies during the...

We stayed for 10 nights in May, travelling through Voyage Prive. The accommodation was fine but lots of negatives!! We found the restaurant staff in particular unhelpful and the food definitely not 5 star! The buffet 'hot food' was often cold as there didn't seem to be any facilities to keep it warm. Nobody explained to us how the restaurant worked, that we had to find out ourselves, ie you help yourself to starter and dessert but they bring your main course. We had cats around us all the time we were eating, including a very smelly tom cat and none of the staff seemed to mind. We had booked full board but ended up eating out each evening and being given great food and treated to true greek hospitality out of the hotel. The Kalathos beach is awful. A very long, grey pebble with a backdrop of grey, uninteresting mountains and an unkept appearance. The hotel location is isolated and they do not provide courtesy buses anywhere. We hired a car and found some wonderful places to visit. Pefkos has a super little sandy beach, Lindos is lovely and climbing up to the Acropolis on donkey's a great experience! The lobby is beautiful but most of the seating area is taken up by tour reps. Very limited local information available in either reception or rooms. The hotel charged us 35 euros to keep our room until 6pm which we felt was excessive. All in all I would definitely visit Rhodes again but not recommend the Atrium Palace.

Room Tip: We had a room with a private pool but the balcony to sit on is always in the shade.

We stayed in a side sea view double room which was loveley, we could see Lindos Acroplis in the distance. Welcome pack was very welcome - water and fruit.

We were on a B&B basis and the brekafast was excellent, I had feshly made omelette each morning and the smoked salmon was also very nice. Options galore!.

We sat on the terrace for breakfast and were lucky enough to pick a table - might be more tricky in peak season but we couldn't fault it.

The bar had some entertainment on a few nights and they were great.

All the bar service was excellent and not too expensive.

The restaurant on the beach is very romantic, beautiful setting and the food was ok too.

I had a massage in the Spa - which was good but not cheap. I would recommend making a half day of it to get value for money, but when its sunny outside, that's where you want to be.

We are looking to return - so it must be good!

Just come back from this hotel after 10 nights at the beginning of May. We arrived after midnight and were greeted with bottled water or fresh orange juice at reception which was a nice touch. Speedy check in and then taken to our room by golf buggy even tho it was not very far. We had room 74 which was in wing 1 and less than 10m from main pool. I don't usually like being on the ground floor but it felt fine here. The room was lovely free safe, table and chairs with complimentary water wine and fruit. There were towelling robes and slippers too. Shower had great water pressure and the complimentary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion) smelt lovely. There was a minibar with prices not too bad €2 euro soft drink €5 euro spirit but we did not need to use this. They don't like you putting any of your own stuff in tho as you have to take their stuff out and the lady comes round every day to check so you are likely to be charged if you have taken anything out. We had enquired about upgrading to a pool room which was €55 Extra per night however these were in the main building on the ground floor north facing so no sun and not heated so would not recommend. The deluxe villas on the other hand we viewed were very nice with great pools and terraces and towards the beach.we would have loved one of these but at €155 extra would have more than doubled our holiday and was outside our budget but if within yours then go for it.

You are greeted by the restaurant manager on your first day and allocated a table for lunch and dinner so you can go at any time which we thought was great, not sure how this works in peak season maybe two sittings but we liked that we liked this idea. Breakfast you can sit anywhere and they bring bucket loads of freshly squeezed orange juice round along with coffee or hot water for tea. The food was great plenty of choice quickly replenished. For the evening meal you were given a menu and could pick one of 4 dishes including a vegetarian to be served at your table but you could still use the buffet. Again we thought this was a nice idea. Special mention to Pari who served on our section always pleasant and very efficient. We were half board however you can change your evening meal to lunch if you are going out if you get a voucher from reception.

There are loads of pools with the main one with swim up bar (bar tenders are v entertaining) and the small pool above which cascades into the main pool always popular with plenty of beds a shallow end for kids but also a separate small kids pool. The only thing is that the parasols are fixed and cannot be out down so you are constantly moving your beds out of the shade and many people block the pathways. There are two pools outside of the spa which are on grass and one also has a bar but this is not swim up. There are three small pools behind wing 2 which were very quiet as I don't think many people realised they were there unless you looked on the map and they got the sun in the afternoon. There is also a heated indoor pool at the front of the hotel and the indoor spa pool. You get a towel card to exchange for a beach towel at the pool bars and can exchange everyday if you want for free, you just need to exchange back to towel card for when you check out. You are on the beach and there are free sunbeds and parasols but it is a pebble beach not sand.

Entertainment every night although the bar was very busy even at this time of year with the all inclusive people so we used to go over the road to Movida where cocktails were €4.20 instead of €7.95 at the hotel. The hotel whilst close to Lindos was a bit remote with only one shop one bar and three tavernas near by. Ostria is about 15 min walk and they have a taverna and beach bar, worth a visit large mythos only €2.50. Only 7 minutes by bus €1.60 to Lindos but 2 an hour between 10 and 12.30 and then a bit sporadic with the last bus back at 8pm. Both times we used them we had to stand as even low season they were packed, taxis are €12 euros from hotel and €9 euros if caught from Lindos so worth it if you want a night out there. You must take flat shoes, cars and buses have to stop at the top of the hill and whilst beautiful we went after a shower in the morning and the streets are cobbled with small pebbles which are lethal when wet and we saw several people slipping even in flat shoes. All restaurants have roof terraces. We had a nice meal out but to be honest we thought the hotel food was nicer.

If you want a great hotel with good food, pool scene and a great base to explore the island I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Overall, this hotel was excellent. The staff were professional and friendly at all times, and the hotel was scrupulously clean. The room was nicely designed; bordering on chintz, but simple and not too modern. The side-sea view gave us a nice balcony with a view of the sea off to the left and a large mountain in front. The breakfast was immense, lots to choose from, and endless good coffee! A nice touch was being greeted at the restaurant every morning by the manager, with a friendly and personal "kalespera" - made us feel welcome. The pools are lovely, again very clean, with nice loungers at the side. The water was cold but we were there late April - it gets hotter during high season of course. Nice touch was a bar in the pool with a friendly barman. It is cheaper to pay cash for bar drinks than to charge it to your room by the way. The gardens around the pools are expertly well tended and in late April early May when we were there, the smell of honeysuckle was divine. The beach was OK, but we hired a car from the place over the road (cheaper than Marathon Car hire by a long way) and nipped to Lindos for a truly lovely seaside. Slight disappointment was room service - the food menu was very tempting, however when we phoned up to order, we were told they only had "toast"!! Overall this didn't impede our enjoyment of a lovely, clean and friendly hotel, well situated (45 mins from airport, 10 mins drive to stunning Lindos) and we will definitely be back again.

We stayed for a week at the beginning of May and enjoyed it. We liked the pool areas, both outdoor and indoor, amthough the outdoor pools were too cold to swim when we were there. The buffet breakfast and evening meal are excellent, with a large variety of quality food, both Greek and international. When we arrived it was at the beginning of the season and the restaurant was quiet and nice. By the end of the week it was more like a canteen. The restaurant staff were very friendy. I mention our waitress Maria who was very helpful. We had a junior suite, which was fairly nice. It was positioned closed to the reception, so there was some noise from arriving coaches, etc. We could also hear the donkeys braying in the fields, but that did not bother us. The room had a flat screen TV, with some English channels, such as Sky News, CNN, BBC News. The TV picture quality was not so good. The hotel has free Wifi, but it did not work in the room with my iPad. They can give you a cable to connect a laptop in the room if you ask at reception. There is also a kettle for tea and coffee in the room. A lady came around a lot to ask if we had enough tea, coffee, etc which was nice. They changed the towels every day without being asked. The bed was two singles pushed together, rather than a double. Not many of the rooms have a sea view. I think all the rooms have balconies. Ours had a mountain view, which was okay. They also have several small "villas" in the area of the hotel towards the sea. These looked nice, each has its own little pool, but they looked a bit dark inside as they don't have many windows. One disadvantage of the hotel is that it is a bit isolated. It's too far to walk into Lindos and there is no nice village to walk to nearby. The taxi if you order it in the hotel costs 12 euros to Lindos and 9 euros to come back. We decided to hire a car and used a company called HB, which is on the small road directly outside the hotel, next to the Milos restaurant. They have small cars for a reasonable price, which allowed us to visit the who island. The hotel's beach is not nice - it's pebble and not very well maintained. In the area around the beach there was some rubbish. The town of Lindos is very nice, especially if you don't go at high season. Two restaurants I can really recommend there are Skala which is on the beach and Mythos, which is near the main square. The Lindos acropolis is worth a visit, it costs 6 euros, but take care especially if you have children, because there are some places with very steep dangerous cliffs, which, incredibly, do not have a wall or chain in front of them.
At the end of our stay at Atrium Palace we asked whether we could stay a bit longer in the room than normal (the normal leaving time is midday). They said that we could, but they charged an extra 25 euros for that, which I found a bit excessive.
