We stayed as a family (two adults, two kids) in July. This is a very distinctive hotel, built on a hillside, with fantastic views of a beautiful bay. The fact that the hotel is spread over several levels, connected by lifts and a funicular, added to its charm. Once you've worked out how all the lifts connect you hardly have to climb any steps.

The staff were among the friendliest and most helpful we've ever met and the rooms stylish and spotless. The air con meant I got a better night's sleep than I did during the recent British heatwave.

We all enjoyed the buffet breakfasts and dinners. Most of the time we didn't see the need for the 3 a la carte dinner options. It was particularly nice to enjoy the traditional Greek items on the buffet, such as tsatsiki, baklava and that lovely yellow bread you don't seem to find anywhere else.

It's a short taxi ride (8 Euros each way) to Lindos town, which has a breath-taking bay overlooked by an acropolis. We loved wandering the narrow (shady) streets and looking at the white-washed houses and souvenir shops. We also loved the coffees and ice-creams at Gel O Blu cafe!

The main hotel pool was great (we didn't get time to try the smaller one) and it was a particularly nice touch that inflatables were provided by the hotel so we didn't have to spend ages inflating our own!

The gym was small but adequate, and I had the best aromatherapy massage I've ever had in the spa.

Outside the hotel on the beach there were great watersports (banana boats etc.) a handful of pleasant bar/cafes, and a supermarket.

We (the adults, that is) enjoyed trying the various expertly-made cocktails in Vergina Bar. I have decided to grow mint so I can make my own mojitos at home now.

We were glad to find a games room as we like table tennis and pool, but one of the few things that could be improved is the games room climate - it got very hot indeed, and could do with a powerful fan or some air-con.

We would happily return to the Lindos Mare.

Room Tip: The 2-room suite was great for 4 people. The childrens' beds (one sofabed, one single) were in a spacious room divided by an archway into two slightly separated areas.

I stayed at Lindos Mare for 1 week with my Mum at the end of July. There is not one thing I could fault about this hotel. Upon arriving we were allocated the incorrect room, however, this was resolved quickly and was just due to us upgrading our room after booking. Also, as we arrived late (10PM) we had club sandwiches waiting for us in our room because we missed dinner, unfortunately my Mum is a vegetarian so couldn't eat hers, so we rang reception and they brought us two huge portions of vegetarian wraps with salad! Just shows all the staff are willing to go the extra mile for the guests which was very appreciated. All the staff were wonderful, always willing to help and were very welcoming.
If you're worried about the food, please don't be! Breakfast is buffet with a huge variety of different foods to choose from and the evening meal is buffet and a la carte with a changing menu every day. The quality of food is fantastic and the a la carte restaurant (Pelagos) is excellent value for money. Also, there is a lot of brilliant evening entertainment, Greek night is a lot of fun! The facilities were very good, two lovely pools, a brilliant spa and a private beach.
I would 100% recommend this hotel to couples and family holidays. Thank you to everyone at Lindos Mare for a fantastic holiday!!

Room Tip: Ask for the room in the 500's (501-507), big rooms with sea views.

This was our first visit to Lindos Hotel and we didn't regret the choice we've made. The hotel has a great position on a hill, with wonderful view of Vlcha Bay. Rooms are very cosy and clean, restaurants have excellent food, also the main restaurant and the pool restaurat (a la carte). The seafood night was amazing, and the performers (singers and dancers) were also fabulous. All the Lindos Mare staff did a great job during our stay. A big plus for Michalis and Christina from the reception, Mariana from the bar, Giannis from te main restaurant, and a big big plus for Giannis from the pool snack bar-restaurant.

Room Tip: 501, 511 are rooms with excellent seaviews

My wife & I stayed at the Lindos Mare for 11 nights in July. We stayed in a Junior Suite (room 124) located on an upper floor with the most amazing panoramic view of Vlicha beach & bay.
The Hotel is in a perfect location, perched on the cliffside above a lovely beach. There is a network of lifts to get you down from street level to the beach, including a quirky little cable car which we were told is the only one on the Island.
Having previouly stayed at many 4 & 5 star hotels around the world, I can honestly say the the quality of service & food at the Hotel far exceeds the 4 star rating: You are warmly greeted at both Breakfast & Evening meal by the Restaurant Manager, & then handed over to the Maitre'd who then offers you the choice of seating either inside the Restaurant or on the terrace, in either sun or shade. He the escorts you to your table, where he summons the waiters to serve you drinks straight away. The food choice & quality is excellent, well cooked & prepared with an a la carte choice in the evening. The deserts are truly delicious & irresistible, need to work on losing the 4 or 5 pounds I put on whilst there!
The rooms are spotlessly clean & well equipped, as are all the public areas. The pool is really nice, but we preferred the Beach most days as there was a cooling breeze which you didnt get around the pool, with the afternoon temperature sometimes in the 40's it seemed more comfortable there. Twice a week there is a themed Greek night in the Poolside Restaurant which was very good & we were entertained by a Greek Band & dancers. Lindos town is a taxi ride away, a lovely typical Greek town built around a labyrinth of narrow lanes with lots of good bars, restaurants & shops.
The Staff at the Hotel really do their best to ensure you enjoy your stay, & are a great credit to the Hotel. We would not hesitate in reccomending it to all of our Family & Friends.

Room Tip: The Junior Suites on the Upper floor will give you the most amazing views.

This was our 9th visit in 10 years and after a tough year we treated ourselves to a full two weeks. It simply wasnt long enough! We relax from the first day we arrive because we know exactly that we are 'home' with friends/family, by whom I mean all the wonderful people who work at Lindos Mare. It is hard to put into words the welcome you receive at Lindos Mare and how everyone looks after you, other than to say its paradise and that there is simply no better hotel in the world. And we have been all over the world including 5* Orientals etc. The care is not just a job here - its a vocation and really genuine. The hotel is set in the most beautiful location overlooking the gorgeous bay and is set into the hillside so you get a lovely breeze often and there are beautiful gardens. The hotels cleaners do an amazing job - the hotel is immaculate. We would love to go back again in September if we can, otherwise we will be back next year with luck. A special thanks to: Thanasis (no 1), Christina, Efi, Efrosini, Stavros, Anna, Dimitri, Alexander, Savvas, Victoria, Tsambiki and Tsambiki downstairs, Adrianna, George and George, Giannis, Dimitri no 2, Stefanos, Simone, Elenora, (lovely guy on reception sorry I forgot your name), lovely chap who helps with suitcases whose charming (ditto), and last but not least the lovely Konstantina who lent me some of her kinesio tape to help with my lymphoedema. Konstantina is a lifeguard and law student who made friends with and looked after everyone around the pool playing with all the kids and looking after everyone brilliantly. The pool is also crystal clear and immaculately clean. I am only sorry I have left some people out - I tried to write most names down. Also the new chef is excellent as are his team! Superb food and great new additions to the menu. The choice and selection at every meal are incredibly good - very fresh and everything is available you can think of. Shop staff are also charming. We were a little sad Michaelis has left - we miss his booming voice. :-) and smile, but congratulate him on his new job. Thanks also to Maria from Lime for more fabulous photos. Also concur with other comments the Drifters were superb as were the Il Divo tribute and Abba tribute also great fun.

Tips for visitors, if you go into Lindos the Church is a must visit its quite extraordinarily beautiful and atmospheric. The acropolis also is facinating but please only take a donkey if you are slimish - its sad how many huge people think its OK to sit on a donkey. For a fun drink day or evening visit Rainbird bar overlooking the bay run by Nikkos 'no Juan' who is the 'Basil Fawlty of Lindos', (turn left past the donkey yard,) and the restaurant Broccolino I think it was, around the corner from the Rainbird. Having said that there are lots of other good restaurants in Lindos too.

Again this year we made lots of new friends, Maria and Rossano from Milan, the lovely Swiss family, Bev and Phil and the lovely couple from Mytha Tydvil. Some we met again from previous years esp the lovely Italian family. Marion and Ilyas we missed you this year - hope to see you next year.

Finally thanks again to all at Lindos Mare- we love you and will be back.

Sarah, Tim and Liam

Room Tip: Sea view room recommended. Some have walk in shower some dont so request if you want one.
