We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Lindos Mare and it was the most wondeful, perfect time! We got married in Lindos while we were there and even though we did not have our reception at the hotel we were made to feel like guests of honour receiving complimentary spa treatments, champagne, breakfast in bed and our room decorated with sweets, flowers and rose petals for us to return to on our wedding night. The bar and restaurant manager, Michalis (who is fabulous), even opened up the bar on reception level early for our guests to have drinks on the morning of our wedding.

We stayed in a junior suite room number 3109 which had a huge balcony and beautiful view accross the whole of Vlicha Bay. On arrival we found a complimentary bottle of red wine and a basket of fruit. The room was cleaned spotlessly every day and it was a special touch to get slippers and bath robes! There was a TV which had BBC news, CNN, BBC Prime, some music and foreign channels. There was a kettle and tea, coffee, milk and sugar which was replaced everyday, a fridge and some glasses. No bottle opener though so take your own if you want to open your wine or any beers you buy at the shop! We had room service a few times and it was amazing - well worth splashing out if like us you are on hoilday for a special occasion! :-)

The hotel is set in Vlicha Bay and Lindos is walkable (25-30 min) but the road is very busy and quite dangerous especially at night. We go to Greec often and always walk on the busy roads and don't mind a trek up and down the hill with no pavements but this was road was far too busy for us so we opted for the bus (2 euro) and taxis (8 euro to lindos, 5-6 euro coming back).

The hotel has 3 restaurants - Meltemi beach bar (chilled out atmosphere by the smaller swimming pool), Pelagos A la Carte (romantic by the bigger swimming pool) for lunch and evening meal and the main restarant where you had breakfast and evening meal. We read about it being cramped but we honestly never had this problem and always got a table with a sea view. Food is great - fresh, tasty and lots of choice. You can exchange you evening meal for a lunch voucher which is good if you're planning a night out in Lindos which we very often did! There is also the pool bar for drinks and entertainment in the evenings and the Verginie Bar where you can have cocktails and sit looking out at fabulous views.

Entertainment was a mixed bag. Abba and The Drifters nights were brilliant and evryone including Michalis was danicng and singing the night away to songs from every decade! The 60s night wasn't mcuh good and we missed the Beatles and the Supremes so can't comment. There was also a Greek night and a seafood night whcih we heard were excellent.

The hotel is unusual as its built into the cliff face so its steep with lots of levels and steps - unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties. We loved the quirky cable car though! And the steps were welcome exercise after lying on the beach all day. The hotel has a private beach with free loungers and a guy that will bring you drinks and food from Meltemi Bar. The beach was always quiet, relaxed and the water crystal clear and warm. My husband did the jet ski which was pricey at 33 euro but he loved every second! If you carry on walking up the path that runs adjacent to the beach you come to Azzurro Beach and Snack Bar, Vlicha Bay Restaurant and the Lemon Tree Bar with free swimming pool and a small supermarket. The supermarket was great and much cheaper than the one in the hotel. Beer was 1 euro a bottle and wine 3-4 euro compared to the 9 euro 80 we paid for 2 ciders and 6 euro a glass of wine at the hotel! Lovely fresh fruit, rolls, water and ice cream there too as well as toiletries and other essentials.

The hotel has 2 swimming pools but we only used the larger one. Both clean and plenty of loungers available. There is also a no towel reserve policy before 9am which is handy! You are given a beach towel which can be changed every 3 days at the Spa. The spa is amazing! We had hydrotherapy, Swedish massage and Indian head massage all reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. The lady that does hair, make up etc... worked at vidal sassoon! The fitness room was ok but could have done with a bit of updating. There is a games room with table tennis, air hockey and pool. I noticed a small playground but it looked disused. In fact we only saw 3 children while we were there - definitely an adult friendly atmosphere and not for kids. There are also tennis courts at the hotel.

Reception is so helpful at this hotel and even helped us track down a taxi we had left our wallet in! They were always on hand to book taxis, give advice and say hello. The huge guest book full of lovely comments says it all! Internet was 4 euro for 90 minutes which I thought was pretty good.

The real asset to thsi hotel and the one thing that made our holiday so perfect was the staff. Everyone was helpful and friendly and made you feel so special. Even the lady that swept the communal areas alwasy came over to say hi and have a chat! Particular favourites were Michalis on reception, Michalis the Bar & Restaurant Manager and Mrtin the young trainer waiter. But ALL the staff were wondeful without exception. You are asked to comment on an individual at the end but it's impossible to name one!

All in all if you are looking for luxury and a complete get away from it all then this is the hotel for you. Unbelievably friendly with stunning views and a romantic atmosphere. We hope to return again one day.

Arrived on a late flight from the UK. Shown to our room via quirky cable car and three lifts. Welcoming bottle of wine and fruit in our room. Room was excellent very modern and clean. Window from bathroom into bedroom but with an electric blind for privacy. View over bay from our balcony although we only sat there on the last night as we were hardly in the room in daylight.

Breakfast was excellent with wide variety never getting sick of same food as there was a good choice. Evening meal was also good with buffet to choose from and also a choice of three plated meals to order.

Meals available also in the a la carte restaurant. We did not eat there on an evening but had a meal there one lunchtime, also ate at the snack bar at the lower pool which were both lovely, can also eat on the beach if you wish as there is a member of staff on the beach.

The pool area is lovely with plenty of shade and a huge swimming pool. it was extremely hot when we were there and on the fourth day went down to the beach where it is more bearable because of a breeze. The sea was lovely and warm and although the beach is a bit shingly once in the sea it is lovely soft sand and sea wonderfully clear.

There was a happy hour each evening on the top bar so we would go there each evening after six for a couple of drinks before getting changed for the evening. The view is wonderful from this bar and we would watch the sun go down.

The hotel's main asset is the staff who were lovely. Everyone was very helpful and seemed to enjoy being there. I have never seen so many staff with smiles on their faces.

If you are wanting a holiday where you can go our for walks this hotel might not be for you but Lindos is a short bus ride away for less than 2 euro and a taxi back was 6 euro. We thoroughy enjoyed our time there and hope to return.

We’ve organised our wedding reception to Lindos Mare Hotel at 4th of September. Everything was perfectly organised by the staff and the managers to the hotel. A great remark to the F&B manager Michalis Symiakos who did whatever needed in order to have a great reception to such a specially day for us!.
If you think to organise such reception they don't have to think about it.The choice is one!!! Lindos Mare and its staff!!

Thank u all

Best regards
Harris and Chryssa Loukara

This hotel is excellent and the staff are incredible and a credit to the hotel.
Nothing is a problem to them.

Rooms- we had room 123 which is a junior suite and was spotless, cleaned every day, the view over vlicha bay was beatiful.

The food at the hotel is good and with a varied choice.
I have read on previous reports that the drinks prices are expensive?? not really, they are the same as the UK. If you want a cheap holiday dont go here, go to Bulgaria!! not that I've been though!!!!!

Pool areas good and you could always get a sunbed.

All in all a great hotel and will be back, if not next year the year after.

A four star hotel with no surprises. Reserved a four day hot rate online and got a junior suite with private balcony and sea view. Complimentary wine and fruit plate was nice touch. The room was spacious and clean but the beds not the best for comfort. Breakfast was of good standard but could be improved with cooked-to-order egg counter as in most hotels of this rating. Seating was tight in places but away from the windows was less cramped. Exchanged all evening meals for lunch voucher so can't comment on dinner selection, but lunch was fine in the a-la-carte restaurant. Dinner's we spent in Lindos and Lardos with Savva's in Lardos the clear winner. Great food, great prices and great hosts if you want the real Greek experience. Comments about the layout of this hotel should be noted. Like many others in the area it is built on the hillside and connected by a maze of stairs and lifts. If you are not able bodied seek other accomodation as you will not be happy with the constant up and down. One downside for the us - the fitness room. It was poorly equipped and not up to standard witht the rest of the hotel and needs much upgrading.
