having read the reviews prior to our visit I felt quite happy that we had made the right choice for our hols. On our arrival we discovered that our request to be on ground floor had been "overlooked" and my Mum(unsighted) and I had to climb 30 steps to our room. In the corridors there were strip lights which should illuminate when your presence was detected but they were not working so both of us usually had to grope our way to our room.
The food was very poor, (we always struggle for food on hols as we are vegetarian), however everyone seemed to be complaining. If the food ran out halfway through dinner (buffet style) you had to go without. On 2 occasions I complained to the manager who just shrugged his shoulders.
The chef was there as a "summer job" and by his own admission had a limited knowledge of food.
There were many complaints about the pool which although it was a lovely addition to the hotel was dirty(mouldy) missing grout and we never saw any cleaning or water testing done in the whole two weeks we stayed there. One of the hand rails to aid entry was loose and after many complaints had to be taken away. Some entry steps were then brought but were never fitted.Several people slipped and fell on poolside. All accidents were reported to reps who threatened to close the pool but did not follow it up..
The whole place just appeared to be run on a shoestring.
The hotel was aprox 11/2 miles outside Lindos and although its a nice walk it is all uphill with no pavements to walk on.
There was no entertainment in the hotel. Most of the telephones in the room did not work and although several of us reported this nothing was done. There was a brochure in our room about features of the establishment(hotel shuttle bus service/room service/packed lunches etc) but when we asked about some of them we were told they no longer applied(they referred to last year!)Why display them I wonder....
Bar services appeared to cease at 5pm after closure of pool bar.
Poolbar ran out of food on a daily basis ie chips, burgers, bread and quite often there would only be half a dozen of us on poolside requesting meals anyway.
The only positives I can say is that the staff, other than management, although young were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable although the bathroom was small and floor was lethal after showering.
