We booked this hotel last minute so we got a really good deal for our three nights. i dont think the full price rate is value for money though but i can only rate it on what we paid! Our rooms faced the sea/pool area and was spacious and clean and well laid out. You can flush the loo roll. It boasts two fresh water pools but this is misleading as one is a small kiddies pool about 60cm deep. The beach is right there for those who want it but im not a fan of holiday resort beaches. They're overcrowded, dirty(this one was ok actually) and the water is generally poor quality. The square, fixed sun shades are ugly! The big pool is really good and the staff at the bar there are great. Food was ok. Plenty of choice on the three nights we were there but it was not as good as the apostolata in Kefalonia. The times of certain things were not adhered to either. The night we arrived we were too late for dinner but room service was available until midnight. When we tried to order though, at 23:20, we were told it was closed and the man behind the desk could only raise his shoulders and eyebrows! The door stopper in our bathroom was a manace too and if you stub your toe on it, like i did you'll know all about it. All in all it was ok. It had some issues but all in all we enjoyed ourselves. We did not use the spa so ive given it a three.

Room Tip: use the internet and find a deal for the sea view rooms..its worth it.

Brilliant hotel, rooms are very luxurious, extremely clean. Location is a little far from Lindos, about 10 mins (8 Euro) in a Taxi, cannot fault the location however because it has it's own beach right next to the pool, very beautiful beach and gorgeous bay.

Staff in the hotel are so friendly and welcoming, always so efficient, go out of their way to help you. There are some activities in the day and evening entertainment but not too much as the clientele of the hotel was very much couples, not many families. Very quiet crowd.

Food at the hotel was very diverse and always good quality at all times of the evening. Could be more choice at the dinner beach restaurant as there aren't many food places near by, but is always of an excellent quality. You can swap your dinner meal for an evening meal and we did so a few times. A la Carte restaurant was amazing food! Would recommend going.

Would advise bringing your own towel, ones provided at the spa aren't brilliant but sufficient.

Just returned from a fabulous week at the mare blue the hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. The rooms are spacious and kept very clean. The restaurant was good and the food was plentiful with a lot of variety with salads and fresh fruit available every day. The staff were very friendly and efficient . I am a regular traveller to Rhodes and this has to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in in this area.
Drinks at the bar were quite expensive but this is to be expected of a hotel however the hotel shop stocked soft drinks at more reasonable prices.
Sunbeds were plentiful around the pools and also on the beach.

we stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in May2012. we were in rhodes to attend a friends wedding at St Pauls church in Lindos. the rooms were clean and comfortable.we were on half board basis. the food was plentiful with a lot of variety.
the hotel staff were helpful and pleasant.
please note this hotel is not actually in Lindos town. there is only one bus that actually comes down to the hotel and leaves for lindos town at about 10am. it is very difficult to walk to Lindos town as the road is a very busy main road and up hill from the hotel. it cost 12 euros to go to Lindos and 8 euros to get back.
the hotel is situated in a very quiet place and there are no shops etc nearby apart from a couple of small minimarkets.
the location is the only downside to this hotel.

Room Tip: we were not in a seaview room but found our room on the 2nd floor comfortable with views of the hill...

Like MeggyPeg we have returned from this hotel yesterday and also have mixed views. We booked through Easyjet Travel and had absolutely no problems at all either with the flight or the actual hotel inc the seaview. We know exactly who the female member of reception staff is because she stood out like a sore thumb (ignorant springs to mind) because the rest of the staff were really very friendly, hospitable and professional about how they went about their work. One lady who definately deserves a special mention would be Maria who runs the outside bar during the day. What a cheerful, happy and lovely young lady who is a credit to this hotel. The public areas of the hotel are clean and airy but it does lack a bit of soul. The rooms are very pleasant and are cleaned to a very good standard however we did find our beds were not terribly comfortable. The food is good without being fantastic though some isolated dishes were very good. There was a good choice available but it all became a bit 'samey' after the first couple of days. Bar prices weren't that bad I thought 3.5 euros for a large beer. Coffee Latte 3 euros. Cocktails 6 euros. Beware that this hotel is isolated and it is 4 km to Lindos, by foot the walk is partly up very steep hills and most of it is along the main road for the area, if you want to travel in try using the bus (it stops at the hotel once in the morning and returns 3.30pm). DO NOT use the taxis if you can help it, they cost 22 euros return which for such a relatively short trip is a bit on the excessive side. I think was bus was less than 2 euros. The beach is made of small stones / shingle which is painful on bare feet, the sea is clean but cannot be recommended for young children as the sea floor drops dramatically and becomes in excess of 6 feet deep very quickly.
Would we return ? No we probably wouldn't but in fairness you could do worse.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms lose the sun very early. Most rooms did have a sea view.

Just back from this hotel and have a mixed opinion of it.It is lovely and clean inside and out however some concerns should be noted namely if booked with Thomas Cook your requested Sea view room will only be available on arrival at checkin paying a 70-150 euro supplement. No point in thinking when handing over your hard earned at your local branch when booking that you have a sea view room ...NO CHANCE. An expensive greeting by the surly and quite frankly ignorant female member of staff who thinks customer service are two swear words and wont use them. My wife is a professional customer service trainer and will be using our checkin experience as an example so possibly some good will come out of it all. The staff otherwise were friendly and very competent especially the dining room and domestic staff. The rooms are very nice and kept to a high standard and the food is excellent. Drink prices are extortionate but luckily the Lemon Tree to the left outside the hotel about 300 yards away helped ease the wallet. Cut your drink prices and maybe you will stop the nightly exodus to Lindos village and other establishments. Spirit and mixer 6 euro, local beer 200 ml 2.90 or 400 ml 3.50.Travel by taxi to lindos 12 euros out and 8 back . Would I return? Probably not but it is a nice hotel and for a quiet time away relaxing and enjoying sunbathing hard to beat.

Room Tip: Pay sea view supplement on arrival

Just returned from a two week break on this lovely island and can highly recommend a visit at this time of year - an abundance of spring flowers, warm sunshine (not too hot) and quiet roads before the summer crowds arrive. Driving is easy and the best way to see the island, stopping off when you want and exploring mountain roads and villages that you would otherwise miss, as well as the main historical sites of which there are many. Many of the small village tavernas serve delicious food made with fresh local ingredients. Throughout the island, people are friendly, unfailingly helpful and generous.

We stayed at the Mareblue and experienced many of the good qualities described by other reviewers. The rooms were fairly spacious and very well tended by the cleaning staff. Robes and slippers came as standard. Bathroom had both bath and shower and adequate space for both of us to set up his and her toiletry corners! Towels were quite new and not at all scratchy! We had a fourth floor seaview room with a pretty view and the balcony caught the sun from the time it rose until around 11.30am, so the afternoons and evenings were shaded and cooler. Air con was effective when it was turned on - unfortunately the hotel took a couple of days to switch it on centrally as they thought the temperature didn't merit cooling. As many of the guests had come from chilly Britain, however, the initial shock of warm nights without air conditioning caused somewhat of a general protest and it was switched on for use in the rooms. By the end of the first week, we had become acclimatised and only used it sparingly!

The staff were helpful and pleasant at all times. The public areas of the hotel were cool, unobtrusive and well designed. The sunbeds round the pools weren't on top of each other - there was room to have a little privacy if you wanted and the mattresses were clean and fresh. Towels were free from the spa area and you returned them for fresh ones when you wished. There are also plenty of beds and umbrellas by the sea, so no rush to get the towels down in the morning!

Now for some of the niggles! Breakfast was good, with plenty of fresh fruit and yoghourts, delicious breads and rolls, croissants and other pastries. Why leave the skin on quartered oranges and grapefruits and sliced kiwis? Try eating them without dropping juice everywhere! The last couple of days we made a point of asking for a made on the spot omelette, as the hot food in the trays tended to be warm at best and at worst cold. Fruit juice was from a machine, when it could have been freshly made. Dinner was very much a hit or miss - started serving at 7, but if you strolled in after 8 you were sometimes lucky to find much food left! Salads were nice, deserts were also good, but the mains left quite a lot to be desired.

We booked with Thomas Cook My Style and one of the promised 'extras' was a basket of fruit and a bottle of water and wine in the room. The wine was disappointingly the size of an airline single glass bottle and the fruit bowl consisted of two apples and an orange - not that inspiring.

There were no toiletries provided in the room, only liquid soap containers above the washhandbasin and shower. Small touches like these make a difference. Quite a few of the guests were 'mature' and the considerable walk up thesteep hill to the bus stop wasn't an option for them. Taxis were fairly expensive if you wanted to get even into Lindos - 12 Euros there and 8 back - bus is 1 euro 60 and takes a few minutes only. I believe that there was a courtesy bus at some point last year and the hotel should seriously consider this as a priority- even if it was only a couple of times a day. We aren't that bothered about organised entertainment but some of the guests were feeling that there wasn't much to do in the evenings. We had a Greek night and someone playing old favouites on a trumpet or trombone and some Dominican dancers. By the way, this may change as the season goes on, but the last bus back from Lindos is at 7.15! So, if you fancy a night out, taxi or own transport required. We hired from Rodos car rental through their office in Lindos and found the car more than adequate and very reasonably priced - much cheaper than the price quoted by the TC rep.

All in all, the hotel was fine and the staff were certainly lovely. We had a great holiday and would certainly return to Rhodes, but we might also consider other hotels.

Room Tip: High floor seaview rooms have great view and get the sun in the morning. Rooms with mountain view ge...
