“Fantastic Holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2009

We booked one week half board here for the last week in August with my Mum and my son then aged 10yrs. We had a fabulous time...visited Lindos by day and night....went to Rhodes town on the bus then returned via taxi, had a glass bottom boat trip from the beach, used pedaloes and kayaks.....the ONLY down side was the beach is small pebbles not sand so take suitable footwear. The staff could not have been more helpful, the weather was great and we found the greeks very very kind and helpful.

just back from 7 nights on late deal, with wife.

This is a decent 4 star and no more.

There are no major issues but quite a few niggly ones:
The food is good if somewhat samey each night. They only seem to label some of the food on offer which is very confusing when looking for non meat dishes. Staff can appear too keen to clear your plates between courses. Not sure if this is attention to service or to chivy you along! Only 2 very small lifts. They charge for the gym which is part of spa. Up to 10 euro for gym is out of order. Drinks at bars are expensive.

Rooms are large and cleaned daily. Free safes and fridge in room. Air con worked fine. Hotel right on pebbly beach but has decent fresh water pool. The real downside is the lack on any real entertainment, especially for kids or teenagers. There is a very enthusiastic guy that organises a few daily pool games but at night you have poor singing synth combos types. Lindos is a 7-10 euro taxi away and that mounts up every night. Buses are not reliable as far as I can see and most only stop at top of very steep climb to road. Staff are generally friendly.
If all you want is a quiet sun based holiday with decent food and decent accommodation it's fine. I cannot understand why people book here with kids, it must bore them to death.

Tips: There is a great taverna right at the bottom of the road (left out of doors) that you should use at night. They have really friendly staff, good music and the drinks are half the price of the hotel. Book your shower room well in advance for your last day. Use the hotel lobbly mini market for drinks in the day as they are half the price. Visit Lindos, Rhodes Old Town and the South and West of the island. Use the German SIXT car hire in the lobby which was over 20 euro per day cheaper than Thomas Cook option. You can get bottles of wine opened at bar but best to take your own corkscrew. In Lindos there is free shuttle bus up and down the hill which most people aren't aware of. When its 40 degrees you'll need it.

This was our first time in Rhodes and to be honest was not impressed with the island in general. Too dirty and full of of half completed property no pavements and litter everywhere. I have a theory that they do not have ruins, it's just how far they got before they went off to start another job.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Lindos Bay,what can i say!Excellent hotel. We have been to Rhodes 4 times,3 times at Lindos and first time at this hotel.Would go back tommorrow.
Hotel sits right on the beach, must get a sea view room, well worth it.
Hotel is spotless and was being improved day by day.
Staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful.
Food was great and can exchange dinner for lunch,we like to go out at night so this was great option.
Entertainment not great but was being improved.
Beach bar was opened till 2.30 if people around and was always a great place to meet people.
We love Lindos and Rhodes itself.Lindos Bay is a fab hotel if your looking for a nice relaxing holiday as there isnt a lot round about, couple of tavernas and short taxi to Lindos itself.Views are stunning and can get a boat trip from the beach.
We had a great holiday and were lucky to meet some lovely people.
Would also add if you go look out for Georgio the bar manager and Yannie the waiter although im sure they will find you.

We booked through Thomas Cook, all UK flights arrive on a Wednesday and early Thursday morning. We booked for 2 weeks
Hotel is a good 4 star, staff couldn't do enough for you, food excellent, service, no complaints what so ever,my wife is reknown for the the famous upset stomach, not one little rumble.
We booked a seaview room on the 4th floor, and it was worth it.The rooms were extremely clean, towels changed everyday if you want, and a bottle of the local rocket fuel for your arrival with some fruit, nice little touch.
The hotel had just been taken over by the Mareblue chain and when we were there , all the big bosses turned up from Geneva and Greece to sign the contracts on site.
They were so impressed by the hotel, the main man went to Rhodes town and drew out 500 Euros for each member of staff as a bonus. That gives you an idea of the the hotel.
It's not brilliant but it offers what it says, it is good, honest, friendly and if you make the effort to say hello to the staff and thank them, they really appreciate it.
We will be going back ,our aim this time was to chill out and thats what we did...nothing.
Not too much in entertainment , but if you get in with Jannis or George the new bar manager, life isn,t dull.always glad to hand out the Raki and Peach Schnapps.
They are looking to upgrade to a 5star, they have a fair way to go before they reach that standard, having stayed at the 5 star Rodos Palladium 3 years ago.
If you book you won't be disappointed.
August is when it gets really hot 40's, and the Italian & Greek factories shut down for a month so will be busy.
With the dining room in the evening, you are not allocated a table, find one thats empty, and a staff member will be there to tidy up and reset, make sure you leave something on the table so as to reserve it when getting your food, the beautiful Italians are majestic in nicking your table .If they do the staff will sort them out especially in the outside dining area.Breakfast isn,t a problem as there are always tables free and they serve 2 sittings full breakfast from 7ish and then Continental after 10am.
Well worth staying.

I have just returned from the Lindos Bay hotel after a weeks stay with my husband and a group of friends, and thought the hotel was fantastic and excellent value for money. The hotel was spotless and the staff all very friendly. We were half board and swopped out evening meal for lunch a couple of times which the hotel were happy to do. All meals that we ate in the hotel were lovely with a wide choice. The hotel also has a shop which stocks most things you could want, at a reasonable price.

The area around the hotel is quiet with a nice taverna, supermarket, and bar/restaurant about a 5 min walk away. It's a 5 min cab ride to Lindos town which is well worth a visit. A cab cost around 12 euros and could be ordered from reception.

I really couldn't fault the hotel and would definitely stay there again. The only thing I would mention for any women staying there is that the hairdryer in the room is very slow and there is no conditioner so take your own!

Just returned from a week in the Lindos Bay hotel. We had a great time and would go back. Booked through First Choice and feel we got great value for money!
The rooms are lovely, spacious and comfortable, reception staff were more than helpful. Mini Market on site is not over priced which is good and sells everything you might need. Bar prices are reasonable. Pool area is clean and plenty of sunbeds either here on or the shingle beach. The food was good. Buffet style service and always fresh and hot. The dining room is not that big for the size of hotel so there was a bit of a confusion as to who was sitting where and if you left your table it could be occupied by someone else on your return from the buffet! A bit of a shambles but a great tip would be to go down early - 7pm. Much more relaxed atmosphere to dine. Also, the a-la-carte restaurant on site is a NIGHTMARE! Do not dine here. Looks lovely but service is very poor and staff are snooty! Overpriced too for the quality of food.
The hotel is outside of Lindos with nothing about it at all but Lindos town is only 7Euro in a taxi, it is very pretty and has a good choice of bars and restaurants.
All in all a great hotel dont let the comment about the dining room put you off booking - we really enjoyed this holiday.

As previous reviews, when we arrived at 02:00hrs our room wasn`t available , so we were allocated a mountain facing rear room to sleep in. Happily we switched to the sea view option after breakfast the next morning. Rooms were very clean and had obviously recently been upgraded. Lovely view over the bay and hotel pools and beach.
Staff very helpful and friendly ,although the breakfast staff did not always appear too happy at 07:00hrs. Great choice of meals at breakfast and eveningtime. I agree about the comment about the poolside bar music which was too loud and very monotonous from 11:00hrs to 18:00hrs every day. However the staff at the pool were excellent and kept us amused regularly with tricks. Not much in the way of evening entertainment ,so walks to the 2 local tavernas were the best option.
The beach is pebble and shingle so its recommended you buy some overshoes before you arrive or buy at the mini market for 7euros. It can be very hot as the pebbles heat up by lunchtime. The average temperature was 35degrees. The free sunbeds and parasols are a little old and worn, although i heard a rumour they are about to be replaced shortly.
Definitely travel into Lindos on Sunday at about 09:00hrs to avoid the crowds which descend into town to sightsee and visit the Acropolos. Walk up the hill and save the donkeys having to carry you, to see some of the most beautiful views in the Med. Come back to the town at night as everything changes. Sit in the numerous roof top gardens and watch the sun go down with an ice cold Mythos beer in your hand, or walk the alleyways and shop for souvenirs. Check out gorgeous St Pauls Bay, 10 mins walk away from the centre. Taxis booked at the hotel cost 10euros and 7euros to return.
Overall a very nice hotel with great staff and facilities, which i would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing holiday with beautiful scenery and options to do more if required.
