“Lindos is great, but..”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

I stayed at the Lambis for 11 days at begining of July with my mate.

What was good :
1. Studio room very comfortable, spacious and clean, decent toilet / bathroom area. Fridge with free bottle of water included. Enough pots, pans, cups etc for 2. Washing up liquid and scourer also present.
2.The grounds and gardens were well kept with nice terrace.
3.Pool area nice with plenty of sunbeds.
4.Bar food and drinks pretty decent, average prices.
5.Thomson rep there, but didn’t bother you.

What was not so good:
1.No real reception area as such, the bar area seemed to serve as the reception, all a bit confusing.
2.The staff (except maintenance man) were not the friendliest, with slightly “can’t be bothered” attitudes. One in particular (might be owner but not sure) seemed only to be pleasant if you bought loads of drinks food etc and spent money at the bar which is a shame. As it was a self-catering holiday preferred to go out and about to other places.
3.Location ok – however bit far away in the daytime to go to beach, village etc, quite tiring walk regardless of age, fitness etc
4.Upon arrival at airport Thomson staff seemed bit confused and put us on wrong coach at first, not great organisation.

Lindos itsef:
The village of Lindos is lovely with plenty of really nice restaurants; Maria`s and Byzantino both great, enough good bars to keep you entertained (Pal`s is one.!). The main beach is really nice, water great for bathing, and very clean. Again would of liked to have spent more time in the village and on the beach during the day, but bit of a trek from accommodation.
All in all really enjoyed Lindos itself, accommodation so-so. Would deffo go back but recommend staying in one of the many small studio apartments in the village, which have loads of character (unless you are desperate for a pool.!)

Had a lovely week here the first week of July! Studios are spacious and clean. Pool bar serves nice snacks at a reasonable price. Pool is very clean and plenty of sun loungers. Bar is open very late and the staff are accommodating and very friendly. The location is great, up the hill but the walk is really not as bad as some people make out. You can get a taxi easily from the town but we enjoyed the walk back after our night out. Only 10 minutes downhill to the town and a further 10minutes to the beech. Lindos is beautiful, plenty of restaurants and bars - we had a perfect holiday!

Arrived mid afternoon on a Saturday, shown to our apartment which was surprisingly a two story large apartment tiled throughout. The air conditioning came as standard which was a welcome treat after a long day exploring/being lazy! It's at the top of a hill, but don't let that put you off a taxi only costs 3-5 euros or you could easily walk into the 'village square' - every day there was ample amount of sun loungers to people actually staying there so you could always find a good spot. The pool bar is the same people who cook at the acropolis restaurant in the town center so it was always great food, apart from the fried eggs, they were a bit hard - but then again Greeks aren't known for their fried eggs! There are 3 supermarkets within 10 minute walk from the studios which are all cheap and cheerful and offer everything you could want (including British food if you get homesick). Overall it was a brilliant place, friendly staff and dead cheap!

Room Tip: Ask for 'George's Studios' or 'Acropolis facing' studios.

I stayed here with my sister and we were expecting a twin room but ended up with a double bed and two sofa beds in the living area of the apartment. It was suggested we push the two sofa beds together if we didn't want to share a bed! We also requested a pool side room, we were almost as far from the pool as it was possible to be! Apparently these rooms are booked to the big travel companies (Thomas Cook, Thompson etc ) so unless you book with them specifically you're likely to be anywhere else on the site. Having said all that, our room was spacious, although pretty basic and the balcony view was OK. Clean enough, a bit dusty in the corners, towels were changed every other day and bed linen was supposed to be changed once, but I don't think it was. Bathroom was tided most days and bins emptied daily. It was in the middle of a block of 3, so the only window, apart from a little one in the loo, was the balcony door, which made the living area a little gloomy. The owners have tried to rectify it by cutting a round 'window' in the wall between the bedroom and lounge, a bit odd, but it kind of works. There was very basic cooking facilities, no oven, not enough cutlery etc if a family of 4 was there. There was air conditioning but be aware that you have to pay to have it connected. It's not too noisy though and we needed one going at night. It would be a challenge for someone who doesn't walk well to get to the upper rooms, as there is a very steep slope up to the apartments not by the pool and then further steps up to the top, I had calves like a grasshopper by the end of the week! The bar is OK, pool good but not heated, with a small mini pool area for babes; and a small playground area. The food we ordered was fine, good portions. There are a couple of supermarkets within 5 minutes walk from the apartments if you choose to cater for yourself. One is run by a very nice English lady who is happy to help with translations! It takes about 15 minutes to walk down into Lindos town, about 20 back! Taxi costs around 4 euros, but agree the price before you leave as you might get charged more. Staff were friendly and the grounds are nicely kept. So not a bad week, would probably go again.

Room Tip: Rooms by the pool/bar area could get a bit noisy in the high season.

This was our second consecutive year at the Lambis, as last year Bar food excellent , staff Excellent. The pool Excellent . All very good,
As all hotels in Krana the Hike from the village is not for the infirm or anyone with walking difficulties ....but the taxi is 4 euro.
We stayed 8/06/13 - 22/06/13, I would like to apologize if our "party" upset any of the other guests ( we took over 95% of the hotel )
Air con is an extra,, advise building in the budget and paying,

Complacent staff and management. They did not rectify dangerous steps after i fell down them in the rain first thing in the morning on first day of hols. Nor did they give us clean towels straight awsy after we had to use ours to mop up a flooded bathroom due to a blocked drain. No one smiles. No one said goodbye or cared if you enjoyed your stay. The studios are nice and clean and the pool and grounds are well kept. The food at the bar is good. Sort the attitude and it would be fab. Nice breeze up above the village so good location for comfort. 5 euros taxi from the town. 55 euros for aircon if you want it. Supermarket 10 mins walk. Great hols overall.

Just returned from a week at the Lambis. Our room was very spacious and would have comfortably been occupied by 2 adults and 2 children. Plenty of hanging and drawer space too. However, on arrival we noticed that the floors were very unclean. There was dust, dead insects (and a very large live grasshopper on the bathroom sink), human hair and tags that had been cut off clothing dotted throughout the apartment. The rooms weren’t vacuumed or swept all week as the offending items were there until our last day. The beds were comfortable and the linen clean and fresh. Our room was away from the pool area and very quiet which was much appreciated and we had a view of the Acropolis. The food and bar were excellent, offering snacks and drinks all day. The pool area was great too. It’s certainly not for people with walking difficulties though as it’s very steep. All in all, we had a lovely time but would have appreciated a little more attention to detail with regards to the cleanliness of the room.
