We spent a fantastic weeks holiday at Hotel LIndos View - it was the first time that 3 generations of my family had been away together abroad and left the boys at home. Having spent many hours reading previous trip advisor reviews, my mother was alittle apprehensive as to what the week would be like. On arrival, we were greeted by Rose, who was very welcoming and showed us to our room - my mother & daughters first words were 'Wow'. Our room was lovely, just what we had asked for (I had emailed in advance to request an upgraded room) - having stayed in many different self catering accomodation across the greek islands, Hotel Lindos was defiantely put at the top of our list of favourites. I could go on for pages about all the positives and we most have nothing to moan about at all regarding out whole week at Hotel Lindos View or Lindos Village (other than maybe the mosquitoe bites, but think that was down to my perfume/age!) - we will most certainly be returning and have started saving for 2015 already!!

just returned from a weeks break october 2013 and what a lovely hotel no faults as far as we were concerned clean friendly nice food at the pool bar . and what a view . only 10 mins walk into the town left or right out of the hotel but we found that right turn was easier if a bit longer but never a problem for us we never got a taxi back to hotel . we also walked to pefkos but wouldnt recomend this its only 15 mins on the bus which all the buses are just down the road from the hotel . go to rhodes town on the bus is only an hour and 5 euros well worth it .you cant go wrong if you go to lindos to stay in this hotel .

Room Tip: we were in room 512 and was no problems there was refurbished rooms according to some reviews but do...

Cant fault the hotel nice room clean good position 10mins walk into village, My problem is that you wouldnt know you were in Rhodes ,hotel full of Brits only , the full English Breakfast and HP sauce etc. I can see why so many Brits seem to return here year after year because its safe i.e dont have to meet foreign people and can eat same food as at home. I go abroad to meet people from other countries and eat whatever the local food is , which i did manage to do in Lindos Village. I think the hotel should not just deal with Thomas Cook and Thomson .

What a lovely hotel very clean lovely rooms nice pools and gardens just a shame that it catered totally for the British public as far as the restaurant was concerned ! Very close to Lindos village and all the Greek restaurants and bars . The view was amazing of the acropolis.

We (a couple) stayed at the Lindos View from 16th-23rd Oct in a self catering studio.

Room:
After reading some of the reviews I e-mailed the hotel to ask for a high floor ( we had booked with Thomsons and there was no "requests" options on the booking page). I had a reply the next day and we were given a top floor room upon arrival (room 634). The room was open plan and very spacious with 2 beds, a sofa bed, 2 bedside cabinets, wardrobe, dressing table, coffee table, table and 2 chairs. There was a tv with 5 channels and 4 or 5 wall sockets.
The kitchen had 2 cooker rings, a fridge, kettle and toaster.
The bathroom had a combined bath/shower with good water pressure and we always had hot water. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom.
Our balcony had rattan chairs and a table with a view of the Acropolis. We had sunshine on the balcony up to early afternoon, but some of the adjacent blocks balconies were in the shade all day as they faced away from the suns path.
The chambermaid came each day apart from Sunday and changed the towels daily and the sheets 3 times.
The electrics for the room, with the exception of the fridge, were switched on by the key fob.

Pools:
The hotel has two swimming pools and these pools are the closest ones you can get to the village. The pools were clean but cold and there seemed to be enough beds and parasols for all, although at peak season this might not be the case. However I did see more beds and parasols in storage so maybe they put them out to suit the number of guests.

Reception/bar/patio/restaurant :
The whole area was kept very clean and the staff were always helpful and polite. I found the bar to be a bit "sterile" though, with little atmosphere. Bar prices were about the same as the village bars. There are a couple of TV screens and Sky Sports is available.
We had a couple of nice lunches on the patio and ate once at the upstairs restaurant. The food in the upstairs restaurant was nicely cooked but the portions upstairs were very small and were overpriced. Tip: if you want bottled water for your room, buy a 6 x 1ltr pack from the bar for 2.5 euro and not a single bottle at 2.2euro.

Location:
This is the closest you will get to Lindos village and still have modern accommodation. There are uninterrupted views of the castle and acropolis from the public areas of the hotel.
The main road to Pefkos passes the front of the hotel but there is very little traffic and it is not an issue. Across the road is a pull-in area for people to park to take pictures of the view and a jumble of broken rocks with free ranging goats.
Some of the village donkeys are stabled on land at the rear of the hotel so there is the occasional braying in the evening but it never bothered us.
There are three options to get to the village. In the daytime there is a path across from the hotel which leads to some steps down to the rear of Lindos. You don't gain much by this route and it's too dark to use at night.
The best option is to turn left from the hotel and walk 300 yards down to the supermarket. The local bus stop is here also. The road to the village is opposite. For most people this is a 10 min easy walk to the village, but may take a little longer walking back as it is uphill. If you are aged, infirm or lazy then it is 5 euro in a taxi.
The village shops, bars and restaurants start at the square at the end of this road.
If you turn right from the hotel, you can walk down to the other side of Lindos and arrive at St Pauls Bay (gorgeous!) but this is not really a night time option.

Gen info :
Bus to Rhodes Town is 5 Euro - don't miss the last one back as it's about 55 Euro for a taxi
Acropolis entry is 6 Euro.
Donkey ride to or back from the Acropolis is 5 Euro and the Donkeys travel in pairs. If you are on your own you may have to pay for both donkeys or wait for an odd number of tourists to arrive.
Boat trip around the Lindos bays is 10 Euros.

Me and the wife had 2 week stay at the lindos view we were given an upgraded room which was very good BUT the terrace with the two chairs and table was below ground level the view was a grassy slope which led up to the pool . No more moans the place is clean, tidy, the pools are nice we spent a lot of time by the pool because its a very steep walk up and down to the beach and when its 40c no fun, the food at the pool bar is very good. Lindos town very good to walk around and get totally lost in the evening when its cooler loads of good places to eat most on the roof tops ,after your meal you can get back by taxi for just a few euros from the square YES i would go back

Profilienos, General Manager at Hotel Lindos View, responded to this reviewResponded 27 October 2013

Dear Guest,

Thank you for devoting time to give us feedback about your stay in Lindos View. We are very happy to hear that your overall impression about the hotel is good and you have enjoyed your time here.

We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the view through your room`s balcony. When allocating guests to particular rooms, we assume that the refurbished room is the first priority and, in case renovated rooms are available, we accommodate our guests there, considering that the floor or the view is the second priority. It is a shame that being disappointed with the view you did not state this at the reception. We always try to do the best we can to satisfy our guests and I am sure that we could have found the room with the better view for you.

We would like to encourage you to share your worries and state your requests at the front desk during your next visit. We hope to see you again and we wish you all the best in your future journeys.

Kind regards,
Yannis Profilienos
Manager
