We went to Lindos to get married at St Paul's Bay and the Lindos View was the perfect place for us to stay. The location is spectacular with fantastic views of the acropolis and Lindos town. The appartment was pretty basic but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There were two pools both of them lovely and never really too busy. We didn't spend many nights in at the hotel so can't really comment on the entertainment except for the karaoke on the Thursday which was great fun. All the staff were are lovely and very friendly. This is our second time in Lindos as we fell in love with St Pauls Bay and knew we had to get married there. Its such a beautiful place and I would reccomend anyone to come and think it would be good for all ages - unless you have any difficulty walking because some of the paths are very steep! I promised to mention Gallery Photography who were our wedding photographers as they were absolute stars and they were based just under the hotel - they took some stunning pictures of our wedding. All in all I would reccomend the Lindos View as a great place to stay and Lindos is the most beautiful town on the whole of Rhodes.

Just thought a quick review was needed to say we stayed at the Lindos View last year for 2 weeks and absolutely loved every minute of it. The hotel, staff, facilities and food was great. We enjoyed our stay there so much that we are returning in September this year and we are counting down the days!!! Lindos itself is beautiful and we would recommend hiring a car to see this amazing island, especially Prassonissi!! My only advice is to BOOK THIS NOW!!!!!!!! Enjoy!

The Lindos View is a lovely complex, it is set on the road side at the top of the hill over looking the Acropolis above Lindos. It is a short walk to the mini markets (two) and 5 minute walk down in to Lindos the hill is slightly steep but we managed it once sometimes twice a day with a 6 year old so any fit adult should not have any problems. There are taxis that will take you back up the hill to the apartments for a few Euros and there is a bus that runs every hour I think which also goes down to the Main beach.

Lindos was lovely as always. It never changes the people are very friendly, the roof top terraces are lovely with great food and it is full of charm. The only thing we did notice is how expensive it was compared to previous years. We expected it to be more expensive due to the Euro/GBP but alot of things were double sometimes 3 times the price of the UK so make sure you take plenty of spending money!!

The complex was very clean, newly refurbished with a lovely bar, main restaurant, games room, reception and swimming pools. Plenty of sun loungers and a nice play area.

We were lucky to get a newly refurbished room which was very open plan with a big walk in shower with colour chaging lights which our wee boy loved! The only down side was the lack of storage with 3 of you in the room (2 small set of drawers and a clothes rail) We could not un pack our son's clothes at all and we had stuff everywhere so make sure you pack light if you are a family of 3 in a studio!

The AC is expensive at £100 for 2 weeks. We managed without as you have a patio door and also a sliding shutter door. You can close this and lock it and keep the patio door open so a breeze does come in through the slats (It gets very windy at night). The safety deposit boxes were also in reception not in your room which we had not encountered before so we didn't bother with that either and everything was safe in the room.

The self catering facilities are a little basic with a portable single hob and 1 pan but you can manage with a little imagination!

All in all a great holiday, met some lovely people and had a lovely time. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and the Thomson Rep Sally is lovely very attentive.

Reminders or things to take with you:
Clothes pegs,
make sure you pack light,
lots of spending money,
no high heels,

Enjoy the Lindos View! :)

Myself, partner and 3 year old daughter stayed here for a lovely 2 weeks in June 09. Although the hotel has generally got good reviews you always worry when you get one or two moaning minnies. What I have come to learn is that some people enjoy complaining, and others ignore the little things and get on with having an amazing time.

Firstly our holiday got off to a great start because I took the time to email before hand and request a newer room (700 block). The manager could not have been more helpful and friendly and confirmed that they would put us in a newer room with a view of the sea. When we arrived the night manager was a little unhelpful (we were shattered and had a weeping over tired 3 year old and far too much luggage) however he was the last unsmiling face we saw for 2 weeks. The room exceeded expectations, it was super clean and easily a 3-4 * (basic SC facilities but enough to cope fine). The public areas of the hotel were really nice and looked newly renovated – there is a playroom type thing in the basement which my daughter enjoyed. The cleaning throughout the hotel for the duration of our stay was second to none and our cleaner was amazing and did not bat an eyelid when she arrived to find our daughter had spilt milk everywhere. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels (in funky shapes that delighted my daughter) and the cleaner even came back late in the day on the one occasion we slept in.

The hotel staff were so helpful. I locked myself out of my room twice and the second time they needed to drill the door (ok it is very easy to lock yourself out as it locks behind you) but they didn’t make a fuss and could not have been nicer about it. We didn’t eat in the hotel, preferring to go out and sample a variety of food but people seemed to like it, lots of English breakfast and Sunday roasts on offer (not really what we wanted from a Greek holiday!). Oh we did eat at the BBQ night which was nice. Entertainment was a bit flat but again not really a problem for us, we preferred to head out to Lindos or Pefkos at night.

The pools are really nice and clean but the hotel being full of us Brits meant that the ill mannered practice of leaving towels out at stupid o’clock does happen. My advice, if you can’t beat them, join them, either that or head to the beaches. Even with the towels out in force there are still enough sunbeds, just not in prime spots.

Lindos itself is lovely, the hotel IS at the top of a steep hill but my three year old walked it with no fuss so able-bodied adults really should not be complaining. There are cabs easily available for 4 euros and a free bus during the day. You could get from the hotel into the village in 15 minutes (maybe 10 if you weren’t walking with a three year old). There are supermarkets close to the hotel and a couple of places to eat. Lindos is every bit as gorgeous as it looks, but very touristy and more expensive (we found) than pretty much anywhere else on Rhodes. The Lindos View was also a bit on the expensive side but you can get bottles of Mythos for 95c from the supermarket practically next door and just drink your own drinks. Oh and please please adults, don’t ride the donkeys, the most horrid sight of my holiday was the sight of a very very large German man riding one of those lovely long suffering creatures whilst he was smoking a cigar (in 40 degree heat), shame on the lazy git.

All in all a lovely lovely holiday in a perfectly nice hotel that was within our budget. Now for one tiny little moan, the hotel does cater to weddings and whilst we were there a large group including one rather miserable family (who seemed to stay in the whole time just sitting looking miserable and smoking themselves to death) who could have spoilt it a little for us, they perhaps did for those whose room was located nearer to their room on the night they decided to stay up until 4 am drinking and yelling and moaning about Rhodes/Greece/Greek food/the hotel/the people. However that horrid family will be long back by now so you don’t have to worry about them!

I cannot recommend enough hiring a car (we used Rhodos cars in Lindos village, around 165e for a week for a micra) and travelling around inland to the beautiful mountains, covered in olive groves and pine forests and to the other coast which is wilder and gorgeous. Don’t just sit by the pool on your sunbed that you bagged at 4am, you will be really missing the real Rhodes which is wonderful. There are also tours available from the village for half the price of the Thompson ones- we did Rhodes town at night (beautiful, we took a glass bottomed boat around the harbour for 6e each) and Symi which was the most gorgeous place I have ever seen but you don’t get very long on the Island. I would also recommend the water park which was lots of fun.

Have fun wherever you end up on Rhodes, the island is lovely and the people are so friendly.

Beautiful location, situated at the top of Lindos Village. Bright modern apartments situated in four blocks around the main reception and two pools/gardens. Family run business and Manolis and Yannis will ensure that your stay is a good one. The food is excellent, although drinks are a little expensive. Air conditioning is a must, it costs around 100 euros but is worth it as Lindos is situated in the south of the island, which is always hotter than the north. The complex offers nightime entertainment, but as the main bar area is away from the rooms, there is not much noise. 24 hour reception and there are showers downstairs for departure day if you are on a night flight. The rooftop terrace restaurant offer the most amazing views of Lindos and the Acropolis and is much cooler to eat at night than some of the restaurants in Lindos which are close together.

Lindos itself is expensive, so catch a bus or taxi into nearby Pefkos, which is much more family orientated and is much cheaper (up to 15 euros per round of drinks). If you take a trip up the Acropolis, take your own drinks, there is a little cafe at the top, but we paid almost 20 euros for 4 cokes. Car hire is cheaper in the south, so its worth it to hire a car for a couple of days and visit Rhodes Town and other places on the island.

On the whole a beautiful part of Greece to visit, that will keep people coming back year after year.

I have just returned from a week at the Lindos View Apartments in Lindos with my wife, 2 children (2 and 11 months). Before travelling we found the hotel website via http://www.lindosview.gr/site/ which is a usefull resource if you want more information.

The whole complex has a nice feel about it with clean lines and modern furniture and decor. The thing that stood out was the cleanliness as the friendly maid visited our appartment every day (except Sunday) to change the towels, empty the bins and change/make the beds.

Pool area
There are 2 main pools and a tiny childs pool. They were attractive and always clean and inviting. There was enough sunbeds around to ensure we always got one with spare sunloungers stacked up standby. Watch out for the decking next to the dark blue pool at the front of the hotel as it is slippy when you have wet feet.

Bar and food
The bar is very expensive as mentioned by other reviewers but this is common in most places now we don't get a good euro return. A can of lemonade or Coke is 2 euros! In rip off Britain we can get a 2litre bottle for nearly half that! Beer is about 3.5 euro's but you can pay over £3 a pint in most London pubs now so ok if you want the odd drink rather than a big session!
We went to the BBQ night on Thursday which is all you can eat for 13 euros and was pretty good value given the amount of food you can get, i had about 8 lamb chops amongst other things!
We never had lunch on site as we were trying to keep costs down and would make our own rolls each day with fresh ingredients from the local supermarket. The only problem with this is they don't allow you to eat or drink your own goods by the pool which is a bit rich given the amount of money we had already lined their pockets with and it being a self catering resort. Speaking of which the self catering facilities were basic, you get 2 rings, a toaster, a saucepan and a frying pan. We asked for a spatular and they sent one straight to our room.
The restaurant is fantastic, it looks very chic and had a very wide selection of food for no dearer than we paid for a meal in town. A 3 course meal for 2 with drinks came to 51 euros and i had the Sirloin steak. We were given a 7% off voucer in our welcome pack too which knocked 3euro's off the cost.

Rooms
We had emailed the hotel before travelling asking for one of the newer apartments with a sea view if possible and although the manager replied with a very nice email saying he would try to meet our requests we got neither. The rooms though were spacious, clean and had a we had a nice big balcony although not all were so big. We had no visits from ants or moskitos however my wife's parents in the apartment next door had a few ants in their bathroom which the maid would out powder down for. They also had a few bites during the night, possibly from ants but we had no problems next door.
It seems to be pot luck what standard of apartment you get, they all look pretty much identical on the outside but the newer block had more modern balcony furniture and from other reviewers reports flat screen telly's rather than the old portable mounted in our room.

Lindos / Location
We didn't get to see much of Rhodes as having 2 small children we decided to stay local which involved 2 days by the pool and 4 days at the lovely St Pauls bay. The bay is excellent for swimming in and ideal for children, i believe the other 2 beaches in Lindos are also in a bay but a bit more mainstream with watersports which St Pauls bay didn't have. It did however have a chapel where people (mostly British) get married and there is a nice beach bar which was cheeper than our hotel and quite reasonable. BBQ Seabass, Chicken Souvlaki and Burgers being some of the things on offer and were excellently presented.
Lindos Town is very nice oldy woldy white buildings but mostly bars, supermarkets or gift shops. I got the impression it would be a good night out as all the bars have characture and music without the 18-30 rowdiness.

So to summarise i would deffinately recommend staying at the Lindos View appartments and make sure you check out the restaurant if you like an upmarket feel without prices being too high! Just be preparted for a uphill walk from St Pauls bay back to the hotel which is good excerise to say the least pushing a buggy loaded with buckets and spades. There is however a free bus from the town up the hill to near the apartments. I would like to return to Lindos and make the donky trek up to the Acropolis but may have to wait a few years for the children to grow up as i don't think the route was buggy friendly.

Well now what an amazing place to stay!!! The room was good we were in the middle block and this was fairly modern, no TV and you had to pay 100 euros for air con (so take note when saving your dosh for hols). It was expensive at hotel for drinks but being at the top of the hill looking out across Lindos was amzing. Short walk to lindos turn right as coming out of hotel and go pass lindos reception across square and easier route into town. The pools are lovely be careful mind, the one at the back suddenly drops and is so very deep 8ft i would say. Good entertainment apart from the awful comedy night which was very bad!! The resturant at top i had my birthday meal in and it was amaizing. BBQ night 13 euros was bargin eat as much as you like yummmmm. Fat as a house now and off to gym but had a wonderful two weeks out there.

Please note we booked to exursions with company called Sun Tours in town, while the coach trip of the south was great the Scuba trip was awful and left a bitter taste in the mouth, over price and not safe at all so be warned!!
