We didnt stay here but used the pool for most of our holiday. It was really handy for us and the staff were very friendly at this hotel. There are plenty of umbrellas and sunbeds (though we did come out of school holidays). Food at the pool bar is lovely- recommend the pita club- but watch out its huge!! Think the pool area could do with some tlc in places and a bit more of a thorough clean each day- this may happen in peak season though. The prices of the pool bar are good value. Would recommend a visit if close by as friendly and good sized pool.

We have just retuned from the best 10 days holiday we have ever had! Lindos Athena is a great place to stay to explore Lindos and it's beautiful sights and smells, or if you prefer to laze around the lovely pool area this place fits any bill!

Theo and all his family and staff can not do enough to make your stay with them fun, relaxing and comfortable, the Sunday evening BBQ and karaoke night is one not to be missed! Rooms are clean and comfortable, ours were cleaned very regularly with bedding changed at least every other day. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept and the views are spectacular!

We arrived as a couple in need of a complete battery recharge and left with a host of great new friends and a very big helping of love for this lovely place. Already booking up for next year!

We travelled out to Rhodes on 28th May 2014 and stayed at the Athena for one week. The accommodation is a good standard of basic and the gardens are lovely. Maid service is daily except for Sunday and the bedding is changed every few days. The cooking facilities are very basic but we didn't intend to do any cooking anyway! Theo is a lovely host, everything centres around the pool bar and prices for drinks are very reasonable. The pool looks good although we didn't use it, with sunbeds and parasols around. Just one thing to remember - DO BRING EARPLUGS. The bar stays open as long as there are people wishing to remain there so we heard voices some nights until around 3.30 to 4 am. We were not too close to the bar but the noise in the background is still a distraction. We were warned by the reviews and once earplugs were in position there was no problem at all. We didn't get the opportunity to use the sunbeds much as the weather was not very good at all.

Room Tip: We were in 217, situated in the middle floor towards the opposite end to the bar so is much quieter

We went as a four - me and the wife and daughter and her four year old son . It cost us about £500 a piece and £300 for the monkey . This is a type of place I would go if I wanted a cheap holiday ( we are in our late 50's ) on a budget . We wouldn't pick this place if there was just the two of us . There is everything in the apartment and some of it even works!
+ side - cheap place
10 - 15 minute walk to Lindos
good meals at the bar - cheap
roomy apartment
nice pool
supermarket next door

- side - shower ready to fall apart
beds - just about okay
cooker - totally useless

Concerning the restaurants in Lindos - we tried a few and thought - well why risk getting a bad meal - let's go back to the place we had a good meal the other night . Well they recognised us and the first time we were in they were all over us like a rash - the second time not the same and the meal was rubbish . Talked to a few people who had the same experience - so if you read the restaurant reviews , they are genuine but the second time - I don't think so ! So my advice is keep trying new places .
If you want a cheap deal with a family at a place that is within walking distance of Lindos then you could just about manage with this place . If you are older and have gone through the cheap deals years ago and your kids have grown up then I would guess you would want something a bit more luxurious than this .
Good value for the money , that is what I would say , but if you can afford better then you wouldn't stop here .
Reading this back it sounds as though I'm ripping the place to bits - but that's not the case - you get what you pay for .

Room Tip: Our room was 203 - family room - nice and cool .

Really enjoyed our stay at Lindos Athena hotel. Room was basic (but I heard most hotel rooms in Greece tend to be) but very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Theo. Situation wise it was about a pleasant 10 minute walk away from the main Lindos Square where the restaurants, bars and shops are. Pool and area was really nice. I would definitely stay here again.

We adored the Lindos Athena. On our first visit we arrived in the middle of the night and were greeted by Theo. Having showed us to our room he offered to open the bar for us and the one other couple who arrived at the same time. This proved to be indicative of the effort and trouble that they went to to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The facilities are ideal for what we wanted, expected and paid. Anyone who wants five star accommodation should pay the extra, stay elsewhere or not moan. That said, the rooms were cleaned and maintained to a high standard. We were absolutely happy with the accommodation. We opted for self-catering as we wished to enjoy the local cuisine and did so thoroughly. However, on the occasion that we cooked in the room the facilities were more than adequate to rustle up a tasty breakfast and we observed others making more substantial efforts. The beds were as comfortable as I’ve experienced on nearly fifteen trips to Greece. The bathroom was neat and clean; with the towels changed regularly.

Where the Athena excels is the inclusive welcome and the company to be had around the pool side bar. Alex and Peres made us feel welcomed, entertained and fed us during the day. Even helping to find me after sun, after I had idiotically taken my pasty English skin on a hike from the hotel to the top of the Acropolis during the middle of the day, minus both hat and sun cream. Don’t take Alex on at Backgammon, he’s the islands champion will destroy the novice player. If you’re foolish enough, like me to bet on the result, you will owe him quite a few very reasonable priced drinks. (He never collected his winnings though, preferring to tease me about my previously much vaunted ability) Theo and, on change over days, Simon were the perfect hosts in the evenings. Simon’s Rugga stories were brilliant. They would leave us to our own company or engage in drinks and conversation on the basis of correct assumptions about what we were in the mood for. The music played was neither too loud nor did it cater to selective tastes. The food on offer during the day was ideally suited to a light lunch or breakfast. The BBQ evening’s food, company and entertainment were a night well spent. Mr George’s entertainment and Zen outlook on life was first rate. Theo’s English is excellent and he was exemplary as the host by, both introducing us to other guests and including us in what was going on, or leaving us to our own devices.

Lindos town is a short but perfectly distanced (for the purposes of digestion) from the hotel. The town is charming. Roof top Tavernas are the perfect backdrop to a romantic evening meal. There is an extensive choice of bars and restaurants that cater for every taste from the power drinking teenager to those who desire a more authentic experience. During the day one has the choice between the town with shops ranging from arts and crafts to holiday tack. Or there’s the beautiful, sandy and un-crowded beach. The walk or swim to St. Michaels beach is well worth the time and effort.

Although we could have been completely entertained, both at the hotel complex and in the resort, we hired a car and explored the island. Rhodes town was fantastic and the far side of the island was worth visiting. A word to the wise, Greek road maps are a work of fiction. We believed we were crossing the island on a fairly main road and were surprised to find the road we were travelling on ceasing to be tarmacked. Livestock, trees and a nearly empty petrol tank were challenges that required facing on our journey back to Londos.

This resort would suit all ages and people with children. On our Honeymoon, a year after our first visit, we ensured that we included a stop at the Athena. We visited five other Greek island on the trip and only one other location rated going back to whilst celebrating our wedding.

Stayed here for 2 weeks last July. The hotel was good value for money and although the rooms are basic they have everything you need and are clean. Theo and all the staff were very friendly and great company. Lindos town is just a 10 minute walk away and has loads of fantastic restaurants. Lindos is very beautiful. Hoping to go back to the hotel again soon!
