Villa Elite is a family-owned hotel nestled in the hills above Limone Sul Garda with a terrific view of the lake and surrounding area. The hotel, staff and location combine in a fashion that exudes charm and peacefulness. Our stay the end of September for five nights was perfect and so relaxing. But of course, you want the details to help you decide whether or not to book here!

We stayed in a junior suite at the annex, a short walk from the main hotel. The annex is gorgeous and recommended. We had a private terrace on the side of the annex with great lake views and a table and chairs. The suites are clean, minimally furnished and well-maintained. There is a safe in the closet in the room. My only suggestions for improvement would be for the hotel to arrange for either self-service laundry or a laundry service. We discovered that washing out a couple things at night and then placing them on a hanger in the closet with the mini-fridge worked great - the fridge generated sufficient heat to create a drying cupboard! Also, the complimentary soap bar was tiny - the hotel should consider replenishing the soap during a multi-night stay.

Many people write about the walk to/from town. Obviously downhill is not an issue. My wife and I are reasonably fit Americans (59 and 60) and we made the walk from the bottom of the hill in town (by the buses and the "boardwalk" into the heart of Limone) to the hotel in 11 minutes. Great exercise! If you plan on coming to Italy, for goodness sakes get in some walking beforehand. There are taxis available in town if walking is not an option.

We ate one night at the hotel and our group arranged outdoor dining on the terrace across from the main hotel - under the olive trees - by candlelight. The food and wine were excellent. The breakfast that was included contained sufficient variety (fruit, muesli, croissants, yogurt, meats, cheeses, etc.) and good coffee. We also took advantage of the bar in the main hotel - make sure you sample an Aperol Spritz while in Italy. (Much better than Campari!). It's the "in" thing at the moment.

The family/staff was friendly and helpful. Several do speak excellent English. The mother laughed at me when I produced a photo on my phone of what I had used from the mini-bar but it proved easier than my basic Italian.

I would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: The Annex is a great location - only a few steps from the main hotel and across the street. Our terr...

A little hard to find with a faded large painted name on the walls and very small whithe on blue signs with 5in letter on the fence, a few feet from the road. The hotel rooms, people and breakfast were very good and comfortable. We were a little concerned that this was a bit out and would bet difficult to navigate on foot at night, but everything was well lit and the recommended restaurant around the corner was great.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to have good views and therefore a high floor is not needed.

Villa Elite was a charming hotel, nice pool area, clean, the furniture in the rooms a bit "dull" but overall OK room. The breakfast was pretty good. The bathroom OK except from that the shower cabin was too small and I'm not big! The best was the view over the lake from the balcony!
But the beautiful view has a price - it's pretty tough to walk from the village up to the hotel - approx 20-25 minutes after a dinner with good wine and food.

A perfect hotel to stay in for a few nights at the Garda Lake. Very nice and helpfull staff, very good breakfast (lots of fruit!), perfect small, clean swimmingpool with a beautiful view. For me, 7 months pregnant, walking to the centre was not an option. Too far for walking in the sun down and up hill. Parking in de centre is easy, but not cheap. Nice restaurant further up the hill! The pizzaria next to the hotel was oke.

I only thought that our room was not that big, the airco was not strong enough for the extreme heat we had and the bed was quite hard.

But I would recommend this place because a lot of the other hotels are very busy and full of tourists. This hotel is much more personal and warm.

Lovely hotel, make sure to stay in the newer suites which are located down the road away from the main hotel. The room was excellent, hotel staff friendly, only minor points are that the hotel offers no food other than breakfast, and the breakfast in question had flies buzzing all over it so we just avoided eating it. Other than that, was great.
Just remember its not on the lake front, access to it on foot involves a 15 min up hill walk from the town, I'm 27 and relatively fit, and I found it challenging in the heat.

If you're considering vacationing on Lago di Garda, consider the small town of Limone and the Hotel Villa Elite in the hills above the town. Limone is a bit more remote than Riva, Bardolino, and many of the other more well known destinations so it is normally quieter and more relaxed. The Hotel Villa Elite is a gem that easily lives up to all the rave reviews it gets on this site. The property consists of an older but well maintained hotel with the traditional lobby, breakfast area, and a small bar. There is at least one other property just down the street from the main facility. My wife and I stayed in the latter and the view of the lake from the balcony and the communal sitting area over the pool is superb! The room was neat, clean, and modern with a jetted tub, flat screen TV, etc. Breakfast is complimentary and very, very good! The hotel staff is small but good. The walk to the lake takes a good 15 minutes but there is a shortcut (ask for directions) and the path makes it pleasant walk. Try the little Italian restaurant just across the street from the hotel - good pizza and pasta at very reasonable prices. Parking is free and there is a gated parking area adjacent to the hotel annex.

Room Tip: Pay the additional ten Euros for a room with a view of the lake.
