“Great Location with Views”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. We have been to Limone before so we knew the location of the hotel and chose it because of it's proximity to the lake.
The top floor of the hotel is taken up by Reception, the bars and dining room all of which have fabulous views of the lake and mountains and into Limone, there is even another terrace right on top of the hotel where you can have a drink and watch the sunset.
Contrary to some of the earlier reviews our room was perfectly adequate, yes it was simply furnished but there was everything you needed. I admit the shower was a bit tight and I did keep knocking my elbows on the shower doors but it was fine.
We had a balcony with two chairs and a table and great views.
The pool area was well set out with good sunbeds and mattresses although some days getting a sunbed was an issue for some people but there were sunbeds on three terraces on the way down to the lake. There are two ways to get down to the lake either the 100 or so steps or once you have gone down the spiral staircase there is a gently sloping pathway. We swam in the lake everyday and it was lovely.
If there was a small downside to the hotel it was that the food was not as good as we hoped it would be, the vegetables were often a bit overdone but there was always something you could eat.
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed our week here and will definitely go again.

Room Tip: We like a double bed but unfortunately had twin beds but the receptionist told us if we stayed again...

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Panorama Hotel just outside Limone. The hotel's in a fantastic location, right on the lake front and the views are stunning. We booked with Thomas Cook/Crystal and had two rooms (travelling as a family) which were right next to each other on the third floor. The hotel staff are the friendliest ever, from the receptionists through to the bar and restaurant staff - always ready to chat, and Bianca in the restaurant even gave advice on some of the meals. The hotel pool (outdoor) was great, water cold initially but very welcome when you've been sunbathing in 30 degree heat (and you get warmer the more you swim in the pool, which is the point after all!!)
The rooms were great - very spacious, including the bathroom - spotlessly clean and the air conditioning very welcome in the evenings and at night. Agree that the walls are a tad thin, but after the first night, and following busy/tiring days sightseeing, etc, you gradually don't notice sounds from other rooms. Our rooms looked out onto the lake, offering terrific views, and we were able to sit out in the evening, with the room providing ample light through the balcony doors. Food in the restaurant was great - plenty of salad choices, then hot food choices (carvery was delicious!) Also a great selection of desserts, and fresh fruit always available to pick from. And who could fault wine and beer on tap, both of which tasted excellent! Breakfast buffet was also fab - plenty of choice, and eggs done in different ways - loved the boiled eggs, although the cook/chef was always on hand to cook your eggs how you wanted them. The walk from the hotel into Limone does stretch you - we normally took about 30 minutes to walk in, although again, it's a fantastic walk along the side of the lake with plenty of views (and various wildlife crossing your path!) And if you want a little bit of exercise while on holiday, the walk is perfect.
Also have to mention the Crystal reps working in Limone - a fantastic crew, always ready with advice (anything from trips to the hotels). Organisation was the best we've seen - from arrival at Verona airport, through the transfer to Limone (which we knew was going to take a couple of hours, so were prepared for) to the organisation of trips (we did the Lake Garda boat tour, and a day trip to Venice, both of which were fantastic days). For both of these, the hotel organised breakfast bags for you, so you were always assured something to eat for the journey - again a nice touch from the hotel.
Overall, this was a brilliant holiday, made special by the hotel, and we wouldn't hesitate in going back to the Panorama.

Sorry ladies but this is not a review of "that book!" The hotel does what it says on the tin, beautiful location on a cliff face about 20 mins walk from Limone, staff very polite and professional.
Put into room 510 which was a bit on the small side and had three steps down from the shower room into the bedroom area (which was a problem in the middle of the night when on the vino collapso). The food was good and we had no problem with the choice and quality but my gripe was with the size of the plates and bowls put out for the meal servings. I don't know if there had been a Greek wedding on the week before but they only had side plates for the evening meals which led to in my case using about 7-8 plates each serving. The complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks with the meals were better than expexted so it made sense to refill each time I took a plate back!
Got to say that if we returned would probably choose Malcesine instead of Limone as there seemed to be a little more going on and a tee shirt wouldn't cost 90 - 125 Euros either.

Visited the Hotel Panorama in June. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The facilities were all good and the staff very pleasant. The food was generally very good. Not an enormous selection but there were a good range of choices and it was all very good. Bar service was very good and prices reasonable but an odd rule for happy hour i.e, buy one and get one free but no mix and matching; had be two G&Ts not a G&t and V&T. Free wine and beer with dinner is a nice touch and very drinkable. Restaurant helpully opened early for breakfast on the days we had an early pick up for trips to Venice and Verona
Great view across the lake and very nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. The shuttle service to Limone ran regularly and on time. This was important is rather isolated and the walk into Limone and back in the heat was very hard work. Clientele tended to middle aged plus and a mixture of German, French and British and a nice crowd.
The one drawback was our room. Our first one was tiny and we asked to be moved straightaway and we were given a small room with two narrow beds. There are much larger rooms but it appears to be pot luck if you get one or maybe Thomsons/Crystal only pay for small rooms. The walls are also very thin and you can hear the people next door but fortunately the air conditioning is noisy and blocks out the sounds you really don't want hear!.

Just home and glad to be from a holiday in lake Garda and stayed in the Panorama. The positives: This hotel overlooks the lake and affords wonderful views of the lake. The staff and cleanliness of this hotel are first class. The swimming pools both indoor and outdoor were good. The entertainment (when on) was surprisingly good and The Brazilian Dancers- Magician- and Bepe the singer were all good and involved the guests in their shows. (however on some nights there was no entertainment. The negatives: Rooms are tired and dated, and you wouldent swing a cat in the bathroom with the shower very small. The television had only one English station and that was BBC world news, this is the first time ever that I I have experienced this shortage of TV english language stations. The food is a mixed bag. Sometime very good (pasta) sometimes very ordinary (main courses) I have been at much better buffet hotels. The location of this hotel also has its disadvantages: It is about a 25/30 minute walk to Limone, this is a quaint town but one visit is sufficient, to visit some of the other towns in the north of the lake you have to walk to Limone to catch the boat and on return walk back. The hotel is therefore somewhat isolated especially if the weather is bad (which it was during our stay). Those traveling on a package on being transferred by coach can expect a two and a half hour transfer time (on the way back to the airport our transfer time was two hours and 55 minutes not a pleasant experience. Overall this was a disappointment and if traveling to Lake Garda I would advise staying in the south of the lake area and in a bigger resort area.

From the moment we stepped into the hotel it was a dream holiday. The hotel is well situated overlooking the beautiful Lake Garda. It has 2 pools & plenty of seating around the area. Food is very appetising and there is plenty of choice & something for everyones taste. The staff are very friendly, pleasant & helpful. Entertainment is provided in the bar in an evening and there is a happy hour too where cocktails are 2 for the price of 1. The town of Limone is about 40 mins away if you want to take the pleasant walk, but there is a bus service right outside the hotel & the hotel does have its own free shuttle bus which runs at scheduled times. From the lovely town of Limone the are frequent ferry crossing across the lake to Malcesine, Torbolllo or Riva, all of which are worth a visit as they are all different in character. We are going back next week we enjoyed it so much. Can't rate this highly enough.

Room Tip: Try and avoid rooms next to the lift shaft as it could prove a bit noisy. All rooms face the lake, b...

Just returned from Hotel Panorama and did not want to leave. Staff are lovely, especially Emilio in the bar and Bianca in the restaurant. We had read the reviews and can agree that the hotel is in need of an update in the rooms but we were hardly in ours in the 2 weeks we spent there so it wasn't a problem. The walk into Limone though is not easy if you've lived in a completely flat area all your life!! My legs felt like I'd run a marathon after walking there and back in 28 degree heat so be careful if you aren't so fit! All in all I would return tomorrow if I could.

Room Tip: We had 214 and although quite small was further forward than the next room (215) so could only hear...
