“Lack of sleep and rushed meals”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

The hotel views are fantastic right on the lake side, the staff are primarily all friendly and helpful all bar a couple. However, the hotel is very noisy which makes it difficult to get any sleep, I recommend ear plugs they may help. The real part that let's this hotel down is the timings for food, the dining room closes down at 8.30pm on the dot, if you have been on an organised trip and you are late back you could end up with no more than 15 minutes to eat a supposed 4 course buffet meal, no chance.... There is no possible extension on this even if you notify reception that you are going to be late. This is a shame and I must say I will not be returning to this hotel because of this. Please check what excursion you are going on and when you are expected back, if you know that you will be late, I suggest you try another hotel where they do not close the dining room at 8.30pm on the dot!

Me and my partner stayed in Panorama for 1 week and we loved it. The hotel staff were amazing and very very friendly and always helpful. The views from the Hotel were amazing being adjacent to the Lake. The only slight negative we had was the food was not to our taste but we enjoyed eating out in the beautiful restaurant in Limone and Riva. The pool was also a bit cold for our liking but all in all it was a great experience and we would definitely return!!

Returned recently from a two week stay in the Hotel Panorama in Limone. The first thing that has to be said about the hotel is that if Carlsberg built hotels they would probably build one on the site of the Panorama. The views of Lake Garda from the rooms, from the restaurant, the bar, the balcony, the pool area are absolutely stunning and breathtaking. Another huge positive for the hotel is the very friendly staff who are only too willing to assist you and who from the staff on reception, right through the restaurant, bar and the room staff will always acknowledge and greet you with a smile. We stayed on a half board basis, something we hadn't done on holidays for a few years, and we were generally very impressed with the quality of the food. While the breakfast wasn't quite a full Irish, there was a range of food on offer to set you up for the day, even allowing for the fact that tea or coffee never taste quite as good in holiday hotels as they do at home! The evening meal was buffet style of sorts, with the freedom to 'tuck in' as much or as often as you liked for the starter and the desert, while the main course was centrally controlled by the restaurant staff who wisely dished out the various meats, vegetables and diced or occasionally chipped potatoes. At times this did create mildly comical situations, reminiscent of that famous scene in 'Oliver' where guests held the plates out until the plate was full or until the the staff member could not be encouraged to give any 'more'. However, the portions were always of good size with plenty of variety and the portions were also well judged with very little of the waste which could undoubtedly be a problem with a free for all style buffet. There was a generous range of drinks available on tap,for all ages ,tastes and dispositions and while the wine was not a rare vintage it certainly was very popular with the customers!
The bar generally became busy from about 8.30 to 10.30p.m. when guests had finished their evening meal. The bar is quite spacious and the hotel appears to prefer a table service style which eliminates the rush to the bar or the need for bar stools and the banter and interaction we associate with the traditional Irish pub scene. There was entertainment in the bar on 4/5 nights each week with the musician on Friday night being particularly good and the duet on Sunday also being highly entertaining. The families, and the children in particular, enjoyed the magic show on Tuesday night , however it appeared to have the unwelcome side effect of increasing the noise and activity levels
among the little people! The balcony at the end of the bar and the upstairs roof top area were idyllic and blissful places on nights when the weather was conducive to 'sitting out' which didn't occur as often as I expected due to the untypically changeable and 'funny' weather experienced by much of northern Italy in July 2014.
The pool area is adequate and very clean, even if the sunbeds were only occupied by the towels, provided by the hotel, for lengthy periods on the busier days!! One of the attractions of the hotel is the access to the lake and even if it involves negotiating the 108 steps from the pool area to the lake it is definitely worth the effort. There are sunbeds on the terraces leading down to the lake and these are in demand and used by guests and not just towels! There are a number of man made piers jutting out into the lake and these can be havens of tranquility during the day and particularly after dark when you get a wonderful lakeside view of the town of Limone in the distance against the backdrop of the imposing hills and mountains.
I think the hotel has 70 or so rooms and all of these are serviced by one lift which is in high demand particularly if you are staying on the third, fourth or fifth floor. Initially I didn't give much thought to the three or four soft seats in the lobby outside the lift but as the two weeks progressed I appreciated their comfort as I waited for the lift at busier times. However, the spin in the lift is amazing as it gives you a fabulous aerial view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. It also gives you that unusual experience of entering the lift at reception -0- pressing 3 or 6, being mentally geared for upward motion when suddenly the lift starts going down, as reception is effectively at roof level which is ground level - this was a sensation that I hadn't managed to adjust to even after two weeks!
The hotel obviously prides itself on its level of cleanliness with the bedrooms being spotless, however a bin in the room as well as the bathroom would help guests assist in maintaining a tidy room! Similarly the tables in the bar were cleaned, indeed polished, at every available opportunity. This is indeed highly commendable but the passion, energy and the pungent cleaning liquid used by some of the staff did become mildly irritating at times!!
While the hotel is a mildly challenging 20/25 minute walk to the town of Limone, the hotel operates a shuttle bus service to and from town. While the times are fixed and well advertised by the hotel there is a case for a more regular service throughout the day,or maybe a bigger bus, for those who are not favorably disposed to the challenge of the quiet and traffic free 'sunshine walk' to town.In the hotel's favour it is worth noting, and was greatly appreciated, that the bus kept running at the appointed times until such time as all the guests who required the service either from the hotel or from town were
accommodated.
We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Panorama and will have no hesitation in returning again in the future. We found the hotel to be excellent value for money and that it has an excellent customer service approach which is obvious in every aspect of the operation of the hotel.

We chose this hotel because of the excellent lakeside location and proximity to Verona airport together with the positive responses on this website. We weren't disappointed. From the moment we arrived, hotel staff made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much bother. We took the half board option and evening meals were of a very high quality with plenty of choice. Complimentary wines and beer were a nice touch too. Our room was a decent size, the bathroom was basic but absolutely spotless with plenty of clean white towels and a good supply of hot water at a decent pressure - unusual in a large hotel and usually one of my gripes! The lounge, various terraces and bars, pool area and private beach-front were exceptional and made for a very memorable stay. All in all, you'd find this hotel hard to beat and the location was idyllic - we will return for sure!

Room Tip: Go for a lakeside view - it's worth an extra few pounds for sure.

We stayed here for two weeks from mid July on half board basis. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the location is superb with views across the lake and onto the mountains. We were lucky enough to be able to dine on the terrace on most occasions which provided an idyllic setting in which to dine. The food was generally of a good standard but often a little repetitive. We would have liked to have seen more adventurous Italian styled dishes on the menu. Red (not great) and white wine is available on tap along with weak beer, these are included with the meal. Riva is a nice town to spend some time and is only 10minutes away by local bus. Limone is a more bustling town and is walkable from the hotel via the "sunshine walk" path that skirts the edge of the lake. But be warned, this walk can be very hot, being up and down, so be prepared to arrive at the other end not looking as cool as you left! The hotel does provide a minibus to and from Limone, but they do not run in the afternoon between 14.00 and 17.30, and there is a gap returning to the hotel from 20.45 to 23.00, so if you wanted to come back earlier than 23.10 you would have to walk, as there are no local buses running in the evening and taxis are extortionate. From Limone you can catch ferries to various towns, as you can from Riva. Anyway, back to the hotel. There is a nice lounge area where the bar is, and also an outside terrace from which to enjoy the views while you relax with your drinks. There is a 2 for 1 "happy hour" on cocktails from 18.00-19.00. Something that rather spoilt what would have been a nice relaxing ambience, was the number of children in the hotel, most of whom were allowed to run around the lounge area in the evening as if it was a playground! It was disappointing that the bar staff or management did not attempt to stop this happening every night. Be warned, the aircon in rooms is very noisy. The hotel has a lot going for it, but If we did return it would be in the middle of school term!

Room Tip: All rooms have a lake view but some are bigger than others.

This is a great hotel and we had a fantastic view from our room overlooking the lake. Staff are very friendly and attentive. It's about a 20 minute walk into the Limone resort centre but was a nice stroll... Would definitely return back to this hotel when visiting Lake Garda :)
