Superb location at the border of the lake with direct access and magnificent views.
The staff was friendly and efficient.
The rooms are a bit dated, especially the bathrooms.
Booked a room with a double bed but got one with two small beds though the staff presented their excuses that our notice was too short (we made a booking on same day's morning).
The restaurant looks dedicated to large groups, fixed menus, so lacks charm.
Anyway the village with its restaurants is easy to reach by foot.

Although the Hotel Du Lac was not the hotel we chose when booking our holiday, but were informed by Newmarket Travel that our original choice was overbooked and we were upgraded to the Hotel Du Lac. My husband and I could not have been more pleased, from the first moment we entered the hotel to be greeted by the lovely helpful receptionist. The hotel is in a lovely location and grounds but about half a mile from the centre of Limone either by fairly steep hills or via the lake side which requires a walk along the shingle beach, through 2 other hotel's grounds and then you reach the promenade which then leads into Limone. The food, staff and facilities at the hotel are excellent. But do take a travel kettle if you like an early morning drink as although there is a fridge in the room tea & coffee making facilities are not provided, neither are complimentary toiletries, also we were quite surprised that an Italian hotel did not put Olive Oil or Balsamic Vinegar on the tables. These little extras cost virtually nothing and it is a shame they should detract from what is an exceptionally fine hotel.

Room Tip: There is no lift at the hotel so if you have any walking problems request a garden or ground floor r...

We had a lovely week at this hotel. If you want to look for something negative, hmmmmm, one could say that the rooms are a bit outdated (children might not even know that TVs used to look like that). But that is really the only thing that was not perfect.

ROOMS: very clean, big enough, the shower is rather narrow but OK. Air conditioning has to be booked separately at the reception. It is switched off in the mornings when the cleaning ladies are working in the rooms

STAFF: very polite, very friendly, all of them spoke German and /or English., so communication was definitely not a problem

HOTEL BUILDING: there is no lift, but there aren't many floors, so that is not a problem.
There is a free parking space for every room, and for 4 Euros a day you can have a place in their garage, We profited from that occasion, as the car did not heat up that much inside the garage. There is a nice well kept garden around the hotel. There is a Wellness area as well, but we did not visit that.

FOOD: huge breakfast buffet! There is everything one could possibly wish for..At breakfast you receive a menu card and you choose your dinner,There are always several choices. Dinner was always very good. and there is a big salad buffet every evening. They have a "pool bar", where you can have lunch. Prices are very reasonable, definitely cheaper than in town. The choice is OK: pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, ice creams. It was all very tasty.

LOCATION: couldn't possibly be better! The swimming pool is quite big and in this marvellous setting surrounded by impressive mountains. WOW! Every room is given tow deck chairs. They are numbered, so you never have to worry about finding a place! The chairs are for free, if you want to have an umbrella, you have to pay 10 Euros a week. From the hotel you only have to walk down some steps and you are in the lake.

Stayed for 7 nights with Newmarket Travel.Had been booked into a different hotel but for some reason 2 days before departure were upgraded to the Du Lac.Were not disappointed.Arrived late and had food left in room as had missed dinner.Lovely setting right by lakeside and centre within easy reach by foot.Outdoor pool, gym and wellness centre.Used wellness centre and quite often had place to ourselves. No problem with sunbeds as each room has their own allocated!Had to pay 10 euros for parasol for week.AC in rooms and ceiling fan.We chose to pay the 5euros a day for Ac but may have been able to get by without it as evenings cooler.Food very good.Had allocated table for the week with waiter service.Buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon and ham, cheeses etc.Had to choose evening meal at breakfast with choice of 4 starters and main meals.Got plenty. Also help yourself salad.Staff all very friendly and room cleaned very well. Not much in the way of entertainment in evening but could walk into centre. Not sure if this hotel is normally used by English tour operators as we seemed to be only English in hotel(mainly Germans).Overall would recommend this hotel if going to Limone Sul Garda.

Room Tip: Have room with balcony and not on ground floor to get view of lake.

Location..... Spectacularly breathtaking, a short easy walk (5-10 mins) to the centre of Limone, what a beautiful place!
Staff..... Friendly, helpful, courteous and efficient.
Food.... Excellent, wide range at salad bar, main courses served at your table, as much as you can eat!
Rooms.... Spotless, balcony with view of lake, towels changed daily in en-suite. Beds a little hard but a small price to pay.
Swimming pool and gardens.... truly amazing, just above the lake and extremely clean, bar and restaurant very close.
Highly recommend.... would definitely return to Limone and stay at the Du Lac!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony facing the lake because the majority have side views.

Stayed here August 2011. First visit to Lake Garda. We booked after extensive searching for the best hotel for our budget.
Firstly, this hotel was comfortable, clean, and clean nice grounds outside. However, the website give you the impression the rooms are rather modern. Not so. Avocado bathroom suite, which isn't to my taste, but, it was clean. Pressure of shower was good. Bed was confortable - mattress firm.

Had a balcony. Very nice to sit out on and relax in the early evening.

Walking distance to Limone town centre - 10 mins

Tip - the cafe serves excellent food - very good pizza and pasta. Affordable and delicious.

Stayed at this hotel for 8 days. The hotel is beautiful, extremely clean, the rooms are large as are the balconies. The gardens are well maintained, the pool is inviting. I did not hear one complaint about it whilst I was there whereas other tourists were making remarks about the hotels they were in. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and we got on very well with all the staff and management who were only too happy to assist with anything. WeI would ensure that we are booked in at this hotel on our next trip to Lake Garda.
