“Boat Cruise to Portofino”
Review of Golfo Paradiso

Golfo Paradiso
Reviewed 18 July 2014

We were looking at boat cruises to visit several coastal areas along the way to Portofino. We had a chance meeting with a carabinieri at the Aquario who suggested going to Golfi Paradiso instead of the other company adjacent to the aquarium. We saved €25 at least by going with Paradiso. At €20 each with two sailings at 10 am and 2pm. The cruise takes you to Recco, Camogli, San Frottuoso and finally Portofino. We took the 2 pm sailing and stayed in Portofino for 70 minutes and were back in Genoa by 18:30.
Excellent value for money. Trip was very pleasant and views were fantastic. Wished we could have gone earlier and stayed in one other place longer before proceeding to Portofino. Never mind, as we will be back, probably staying in Recco as it is famous for its cuisine.
Portofino I found to be over rated and pretentious! Had coffee at Bonani in front of the harbour--€ 5!!! Good shopping though because they have a sale!

Arrived in Genoa for mothers Day, and came to visit this absolutely wonderful fisherman's cove converted into a marvelous Italian village, nice combination of many things, neatly maintained and the best of all it's the breathless views!!!!! Just spectacular, I would like to revisit for a couple of days and stay in one of those down by the sea locations.

I had the luxury of visiting this area with Italian friends who grew up in the region. It's a beautiful place. I greatly enjoyed my visit. Well worth a stop!

A one hour stop in Portofino. The boat ride was worth the money alone however Portofino was significantly more expensive than Camogli. Beautiful views from the lighthouse.

Simply fantastic, one of the two most beautiful places in Italy (the other one is the Amalfi Coast). Just beware of where you eat, not all Restaurants are good.
