“Basics, but staff went the extra mile”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

I stayed in this hotel one night during a stop-over in Paris for business. I found the hotel just a tad longer walk than I wanted from the closest metro station (I was lugging laptop and suitcase), but I survived. I desperately needed an early check-in because my flight from Dallas landed at 8:30 am. You know how that is, you're dead tired (I can never sleep on flights, no matter how long they are). I got to the hotel about 10:30 and was assisted by one of the most helpful staff members at check-in. I wish I remembered his name. He got a room for me within about 15 minutes and even came over and shook me awake in the waiting area! I got to the room and well, it was fine, nothing fancy, typical Paris-area small, but clean, comfortable and quiet. A nice place FOR THE PRICE. Restaurant and bar were fine also. I left my jacket at the bar one evening and was glad to find it at the check-in counter. Thank goodness for honest people. I'd stay in this hotel again, especially when on a buget and just need the basics.

It is not easy to find an affordable hotel in Paris where you can also park your car for a reasonable fee. Ibis Porte d'Orleans is close to the metro, which means that you have a very good connection to central Paris, and you can also park you car for 17 Euro/24 hours.
There are a number of restaurants in the neighbourhood and the restaurant at the hotel is part of the Courtepaille chain, which offers simple food at affordable prices.
The rooms are small but the service is good. Ibis has a guarantee that they will solve any problems concerning your stay/room that are their fault within 15 minutes or you will stay the night for free. We actually profited from this policy a couple of years ago, when the guys installing new carpets started at six in the morning and the staff had not warmed us in advance.
Breakfast is simple and quite expensive at 9,50 Euro.
The lobby of the hotel has recently been restyled and they have also installed new beds in the (still small) rooms.
All in all this is a good hotel if you want to stay in Paris and you have a car. Prices vary, maybe there are bargains during the weekend but we paid 129 Euro for a basic room on a Thursday night.

Service with a smile and genuine helpfulness, from all personnel, make this hotel stand out. It's noteworthy because, with hundreds of rooms and a brisk business with groups, the establishment could've been impersonal.
Stayed here for business, because of location and price.
Apart from serivce, I'd highlight a good breakfast buffet and a nice restaurant in the hotel (mid-budget, quality food and service, nothing fancy or romantic).
Bedding and bathroom were very comfortable. For a business traveler, this is key. But there were stains on the floor and wall (photos), and the overall appearance was threadbare and worn. I'd have hoped for better upkeep, especially as the hotel pays attention to things like flower beds out front.

We booked in advance on the accor.com website and paid 45 euros for our room. Absolute bargain. Its clearly basic, but what else can you expect for the price. The welcome was really friendly, the room basic but comfy. Free wifi and there was a decent shower. The restaurant had a good buzz about it - steak and chicken very succulent. Get a 50 cl pichet of wine - better value than the bottles and very gluggable. We downed 2 of them. Parking was 17 euros for the night - ok for paris.

Great location and 3 people 2 rooms pricing is excellent - E230 booking in advance.

Far too hot (although it was late September!) and rear of hotel overlooks noisy kitchen vents so impossible to have window open and sleep but too hot to close window. Asked for a fan on 2nd night and one was provided. New beds are very comfy but the topper is a rubbery memory foam material which makes you very hot and the removal of the waterproof protector didn't help!

Breakfast excellent and Courtapaille meals fantastic.

We stayed here on a tour group in April with about 25 people in total. The rooms were very small - but they were clean and had all the basic amenities that made for a comfortable stay. It wasn't hot outside so I cannot comment about the A/C not working like another guest mentioned. I did find the shower set-up ended up with a lot of water spilling on the floor - but a towel takes care of it.

The breakfast was great - a lot of selection to fill your stomach before a long day of walking. We received a ticket from the front desk the night before that reserved your time at the breakfast bar. Not sure if everyone has this option, but it is certainly worth looking into. The lobby area is nice as well - drinks and snacks are available all night long, although I only bought drinks and no food. Location is OK - it's about a 10-minute hike to the nearest Metro station but I would recommend checking out the catacombs that are only 4 metro stops from the hotel.

If you are looking for a clean place to use as a base for exploring Paris, this place will do you just fine.
