“Basic - Reception staff bored”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

We stayed at this hospital or should i say budget hotel for 3nights from 20 July to 23 July 2014. The reception staff were just bored totally disconnected from the days job. The check in was quick, the only conversation was your room is on the 9th floor the lift is on the left. The hotel is as basic as they come, the plus for this hotel is that the cleaning staff do a good job.
The hotel is about eight to 10minutes walk from hotel. It might be five minutes jog definetly not if you aere walking. The metro ride from Gare du norde is exactly 23minutes ride on line 4, so in all from Gare du nord to the hotel should take no longer than 35minutes. we didn't bother eating here as we felt the service might be poor. I hear they have wifi at the hotel we weren't offered and could not pick up the wifi signal from the hotel room. I phoned up the reception to enquire about the possibility of getting an iron and ironing board the receptionist picked up the phone i heard on the sixth floor the phone went dead and that was it. They do have an iron and ironing board in a small room. The iron is worst for wear i had to go without ironing for the three days i stayed at this hotel.

Room Tip: If good service is not a problem for you, then this hotel might be a cheap option the room we stayed...

Dear Francisco,

Thank you so much for your review. I would like to thank you for staying with us at the Ibis Paris Porte d'Orléans and for your positive comments about the service.
However, I am sorry to hear that it was not the perfect stay on this occassion due to some staff and I shall communicate this to our management team to ensure this will not re-occur in the future.
We hope that this will not stop you from returning to our hotel, and hope to welcome you back soon in the not too distant future.

Kind regards,

Though the room was tiny (by North American standards probably) it was clean and served it's purpose well. Restaurant in hotel was also good. Location was great for me as it was a short (and easy to navigate) route into town. I walked back at night with several young women and felt completely safe.

Bearable hotel if not bedbugs.
Rooms are not big but right enough to spend a night. Everyday cleaning is good, but floor & walls are stained, doors & furniture are seeded, besides the room was smelly, partly because it faced the kitchen conditioning pipes.
Breakfasts are w/o special delicacies, quite generous, but need to stand in a line for 10-15 munutes to get the food.
Distance to the metro station is 10 minutes of fast walking + at least 40 minutes ride until the very center of Paris. Always add 10 minutes of waiting for the hotel elevator, elevators at this hotel are always busy and crowded.
Beds, linen & matraces are very comfortable and clean, this is the first hotel among many I've been during a long time, where housemaids didn't leave their hair after cleaning. However those 3 bedbugs really spoiled the impression.
Mind that they provide only three towels for a double room instead of usual 5 towels.

Room Tip: Try to get those rooms that don't face the kitchen - there are less smell and noise from the dra...

A busy, clean hotel in Montrouge. A bit far from the main areas of Paris but generally a nice area. The rooms are very small but comfortable beds and clean showers/bathroom.
The breakfasts were really good! Great range of pastries and a couple of areas to eat.
A friend of mine was moved out of their room on the first night as they needed it for a disabled guest, which is understandable, but in moving their luggage out they lost some of their items and were not allowed back into their original room to look for them. But I had a great stay! Staff wonderful!
Stayed 2 nights.

I recently spent two nights at this hotel while visiting Paris and truly enjoyed myself. The hotel was clean, safe, and my room was very comfortable. My room was fairly spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast at the hotel was good with a nice variety of foods available. When I am in Paris again, I will definitely consider staying here.
