Second stay here. It's ok, you get what you pay for. Convenient if you are passing through schipol. Unfortunately the thermostat did not work in the room so it was pretty hot. The buffet breakfast was pretty average too. Could do with some improvement.

I usually stay here in case I have an early or late flight. They've recently modernised the rooms to fit the global IBIS style. Window shade blocks out all light. Comfortable bed. Continental or cooked all you can eat breakfast. Shuttle from airport. It's not missing anything I don't need for these stays. Oh, and the mosquitos seem to have gone too!

We chose to stay near the airport in Amsterdam as the price was much more reasonable than in town. We didn't stay at the ibis budget...but considering what we had in the regular Ibis, I can't imagine what the budget hotel would have been like.
On arriving with the free airport shuttle, the lobby looked inviting and modern. Check in was quick and efficient.
We pulled out suitcases though the long unattractive hallways and the first thing we noticed was that the carpets in the hallways were filthy. They hadn't been vacuumed...and after three days, they were still filthy!
Broken china sat on the floor outside a room, for at least 8 hours, from the time we checked in to the time we left to go out the next day.
We were two women traveling together, so asked for two beds. We got them, but they were pushed together. No hope of separating them as the room was so small you couldn't walk between the wall and the bed on one side.
Hardwood floors above and in our room, transferred noise to the room below.
Only one mirror with a plug to use for curling hair etc, in the bathroom.
No hooks or shelves in the bathroom to hang clothing.
No tissues.
No bath mat. Bath towels were threadbare and small
No hand towels
Only switch for the bathroom light is by the front door and turns on the hall light as well.
Only one pillow.
Room was clean, bed comfortable

At ibis, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us.

We are currently renovating the hallways in the hotel, which can cause some dirt on the carpets. We do our best to clean them every day. We apologize that this did not happen during your stay.

Our rooms are standard ibis size with standard amenities. Please note that we are a 3-star hotel. Some amenities which you will find in a 4-star hotel room, like the Mercure or Novotel are unfortunately not usual in an ibis room.

We appreciate your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.

Me and my fiancé stayed at the Ibis Amsterdam Airport hotel from 25th-29th June and the hotel was fantastic value for money (based on the room price alone). The reception was very modern and looked quite new, and small extras such as escalators between the floors and free access to the gym really add to the hotel overall. The room itself was modern and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel also offers a free shuttle service between the hotel and Schiphol airport, which is really useful if you're travelling into the centre like we were, as you have to go to the airport to get to the centre by train. Our only negatives to the hotel were the prices once you get there! Breakfast (if it isn't included in your room rate) will set you back 17,50 Euros each, so we skipped breakfast on all days and waited until we got out. There's also a restaurant in the hotel that serves pasta and pizza (among other things). The pasta and pizza dishes were 14,50 Euros each, and for anything more exotic the prices ranged right up to around 28 Euros for one main meal. The hotel also offers a 'takeaway' service, where you can choose from a variety of snacks and drinks and pay to take them away to your room, but at 3,50 Euros for a small bottle of Coke and 4,50 Euros for a bag of crisps, we passed on that too. It's not just the food that's expensive either; a large beer will set you back over 6 Euros in the hotel bar, and a small glass of wine over 4 Euros. Overall, a very nice, modern hotel with comfortable rooms, but our advice would be to pass on the snacks in the hotel and buy them while you're out if you can.

Stayed here for 2 nights with a tour group. The beds were amazingly comfortable and our room was very clean. Good meals to fill up on post a day of travel. Being close to the airport means being close to the train, it's about a 30 minute ride to the main districts of Amsterdam so it's not too bad if you're out all day and just need a place to sleep and eat. The hotel runs a shuttle between the 2 Ibis hotels and the airport.

We stayed at ibis hotel this past week and really enjoyed it.
Pro:
The shuttle to and from the airport is convenient and easy
We were upgraded to have breakfast included, it was lovely. Especially since breakfast starts at 4am and we had to take the 4:48am shuttle for our flight!
They are in the process of upgrades and renos, but you hardly notice it. There is no noise and the workers keep everything contained and cleaned up well.
Great shower. I like to have high pressure showers and this one was great.

Cons:
We got a "double" bed, but it was just two singles pushed together which easily slid apart.
Only two towels, try and snag another as a face/hand towel. We grabbed an extra when we left the gym. Perfect for hands and face at night time.


The hotel is clean and away from the downtown district which we appreciated. If I ever find myself in Amsterdam again I would choose this hotel.
