A great place to spend a Sunday lunchtime in the sun. There are many restaurants around the large Grote Markt in Bergen op Zoom. A mix of classic architecture, a 15th century church and another which is now a theatre. Tables under umbrellas and a lively crowd, while the town passes by on Dutch bikes. De Bourgondier is a large establishment and in the fine weather was busy. Nevertheless the friendly efficient staff neither intrude, nor leave you waiting. A bistrot style menu of substantial tasty dishes at good prices. It looks like the place to hang out in this market town; young and old, young couples and family groups all enjoying an early afternoon drink, or a late lunch. We were in the latter group. We ordered a toasted sandwich and onenf their house burger sandwiches and they were substantial enough that couldn't finish them! This is a rare event. Not just copious, delicious. It was a bit of a trip, but I hope we get back to sample something else.
