Cute hotel, clean, lovely decor in the rooms.

WiFi is free although not very dependable (and not very secure either, you don't need a password to log on)
Breakfast is great (but there's no jam?)
It's a little pricey for what it is.

Best thing in the room: the total blackout curtains! perfect!

The location is fantastic, right in between the central train station and the city "centre" with the fabulous shops, right next to the arts centre and the famour Library.

Check out the O'Casey's Irish pub nearby!

The hotel looks unexciting, viewed across the car park in front. But inside, it's calm, clean and comfortable. There is free internet. The room was well appointed with a very big bed (as a couple who travel for business, that's important) and room to work. The balcony was a nice touch, although it would be nice to be able to turn the balcony light off.
There is a reasonable choice of restaurants very nearby which is useful.
Would suggest more electricity sockets in the room (not great to plug in two laptops).
We did not eat breakfast in the hotel but colleagues who did commented that it was well appointed but pricey.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the lake - it's very pleasant to unwind looking at that.

Dear JMJ630,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel.
If you need extra sockets we can always help you at the front desk. We have some extra cables to help you out.
I would like to inform you about the lights on the balcony. We can’t turn the lights off during the night, this regarding to the emergency exit.

We hope we can welcome you back in the future and then you can also try our breakfast.

With kind regards,

Kristel Berendsen

My wife and I went there with a giftfor2 package. We did not tell the service in advance that our trip was for our first wedding anniversary. When we told them why we were there, they still gave us some special treats and attentions in our room. Very appreciated.
The rooms are big, cosy and well furnished. Nice view on the lake for a small extra fee.
Very attentive service.
Very good breakfast too. Some detail that made a very big impression on us: OMG! You can press your orange juice yourself too! Orange juice has never been fresher in a hotel, even in a 5 *!
The hotel itself is a bit far away from the city center (that made it better for us, but some would like to be direclty in the center), but there are several tram lines going directly to the central station.

Room Tip: Do not hesitate to pay the small fee to have the lake view. The other side has a parking lot view...

Dear Olivier8283,

First of all thank you very much for your review and your feedback about our hotel.
We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel and that you liked our breakfast. We always aim for the very best for our guests.
You are right when you are telling that the hotel is not in the city center of the Hague, it takes you 10 minutes by tram to the central station.

Hopefully we may welcome you back to the hotel in the future.

With kind regards,

This is a very well run hotel that is located on a pond and adjacent to three very nice restaurants. It is about €65 from Schiphol by taxi. You can also take the train from Schiphol to Den Haag Centraal and a taxi to the hotel (train €20 and taxi €21). Breakfast in the hotel is good but as pricy as hotel breakfasts tend to be (€20). The dining room does look out onto a pond (not a lake by any means). The rooms are plain but completely furnished and the free wifi is very fast and reliable. You can get a room with a balcony for a small additional charge, probably worth it if you are staying for a few days. It is a €15 cab ride into Den Haag if you want good Reistafel (a Dutch/Indonesian specialty). The train from the closest train station (Den Haag Mariahoeve) is €20 to get into Amsterdam so you would only stay here if you had a reason to. There are many training courses offered here by businesses and it is very close to CGE, a major international software company. If you are taking a taxi to the hotel it was formerly called the Green Park hotel and that may help the taxi driver to find it. There is a Mercure in downtown Den Haag which is where taxis will take you if you do not specify Den Haag Leidschendam. There is also a grocery store just a few steps away if you want to pick up a bottle of wine or some snacks or fruit for your room. Across the street is a large shopping area that is quite dead after about 7:00 pm. There is a bank machine opposite the entrance to the hotel. Indeed as noted by others, there is no ramp for roller bags or wheeled suitcases and it is 12 or 14 steps, an unexpected pain as I am from a country that requires ramp access to all hotels and public buildings.
It you will be using the trains and trams I recommend you purchase a chipkaart at Leiden Centraal or Den Haag Centraal as it works on all buses, trams and trains, much like the Oyster card in London. The NS web site (www.ns.nl) makes planning train travel very easy

Room Tip: If you are staying several days I recommend paying the upgrade for a balcony as the rooms themselves...

Dear Careful_one, thank you for your review. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel and the several options you have written down for our future guests.
At the moment we are discussing the options of a ramp, we hope to install this very soon.
Hopefully we may welcome you back to the hotel in the future.
