As the title suggests, this is a good all-round choice for Valkenburg. Yes, the rooms are a little small and outdated but they are clean and well appointed. The beds are comfortable and you have everything you need.
The communal areas of the hotel and its location are its major plus points. The bar and restaurant are lovely and the location couldn't be better (in the pedestrian area). The only strange thing was the choice of dinner times - which are quite limited.
Breakfast is fantastic and certainly 4* in terms of quality with plenty of choice.
There is a large car park on-site as well (which costs extra). What's more, there is a secure garage for bicycles - pefect if you are taking your bikes to Holland's 'Home of Cycling'. It could be improved however with the addition of secure points inside the garage so you can lock your bike to something solid. I am not sure I would want to chance leaving my 3,000 Euro road bike in there unless it was locked to something rigid.
All in all, we really liked this hotel and would definitely stay here again.More
