Went there last night in a party of three, for a celebration dinner. The restaurant is on its own grounds and nicely situated in easy drive from anywhere in Zoetermeer. Met at the door and taken straight to the dining room and shown to our table, a nice and efficient welcome.
This restaurant offers a menu that has a la carte dishes, or a fixed menu with a range of choices included. My friends had a fish starter, veal loin main course, and tarte tatin. I avoid fish, so I went for soup followed by the same dishes they'd chosen.
What a surprise! All dishes were well-presented and plated, nicely cooked and very tasty indeed, without exception. So the verdict on food is "really quite good" overally. And given the prices for the fixed meal, this is a combination of excellence and affordability indeed.
Staffing left quite a bit to be desired. Our dining area was serviced predominantly by youngsters who were - it seemed - early into their training cycle and overseen by an efficient but very busy supervisor lady. So nothing happened quickly, nor automatically according to usually expected routines. However, we did get served, albeit slowly and with some signs of confusion. They'll get better with more experience and better training, one hopes.
So overall this was a really good experience on quality and price, and a little bizarre on the service side. But I have high hopes and will definitely go back and even now recommend that people try it for themselves.
