“great holiday easy to get to”
Reviewed 12 November 2012

this is the first time my wife and I have travelled using our own car as we are both disabled, we went for a 10 night holiday here and had a great crossing with p&o in a disabled room also they parked us near a lift for ease of access getting to the park was not as hard as I was expecting in fact very well signed posted the camp was great people were so polite as for the on site shops a little expensive but convenient the aldi or especially the c1000 in town were much better priced and had bigger selections the euro camp caravan was ok but a little uncomfortable for disabled people but at the same time it was very well set out as well we have travelled all over the world and never returned to the exact same place before but we have already booked and paid to return in April2013

Room Tip: wassenaar is a lovely place and the Dutch people are so nice so don't be afraid to ask if you ne...

We (wife and I and 17-year old son) have just returned from 5 nights at Duinrell and can thoroughly recommend it.

Our accommodation was the most basic 2 bedroom (5 person) mobile home provided through Canvas holidays. It was clean, tidy and well equipped, my only criticism was that the only heating is a small electric heater in the main living space. We went for the final week and it was a bit chilly. Our friends went for a higher spec home and it had heaters in the bedrooms too which is worth considering if you go at a cooler time of the year.

The onsite amenities are good - decent supermarket, restaurant and pub, free use of the excellent theme park and the water park costs 3.50Euros per 2-hours if you are resident on site. The indoor water park has top-notch rides for all your teenage thrill-seekers!

The park is only a short (10-minute) walk to the town centre of Wassenaar, which is an affluent little town with plenty of nice shops and restaurants. It is also about 4km from the beach if you go at a warmer time of the year.

Room Tip: If going at a cooler time of the year, look for a mobile home which has heating in the bedrooms as w...

An adrenalin packed 2 weeks with plenty of time to chill, visit Amsterdam and drink beer the Dutch way. Excellent for kids, and families alike, I`m 24 and loved the theme and water parks :D. Would love to return but once is enough I feel as I cant physically eat any more pancakes from the Pancake House just off the site. The on site facilities are awesome for the kids. Wassenaar is a beautiful little place, its well worth a visit to some of the beautiful houses down the little country lanes.

What a weekend we had in Duinrell. A party of seven (two families sharing one mobile home), we got this through the Sun Holiday voucher offer, so worked out incredibly cheap.

As others have alluded, the park includes free entrance to the Amusepark park, which has a couple of superb roller coasters (particularly Falcon). You also get reduced admission into what has got to be the best waterpark (Tikibad) I have visited (we paid 3.5 euros for 2 hours on each weekend day).

The Tikibad has some incredible slides and the sheer speed of some of them take your breath away - a good tip is to go later in the evening as it stays open until 10pm, so a 7.30-9.30 spot is perfect. It also ratchets up the fear factor as this means some of the rides have completely dark sections. Queue pushing is non existant, a welcome change from such attractions in Spain and Italy.

Wassenaar itself is a beautiful location, obviously a lot of money in the area, and Leiden is well worth a visit, especially this time of year as the leaves turn and the town prepares for the impending arrival of SinterKlaas. The town cant be beaten on a sunny Autumn's day.

Loved by both kids and grown-ups

Room Tip: ask for a caravan on the island - close to the action but no noise problem. Very safe for kids as vi...

We (Wife, 3 daughters aged 7, 11 & 12, and I) have just returned from a 6 day stay at Duinrell. We have visited a couple of times before for shorter stays, although took the opportunity for almost a week on this occasion.

The theme park is free to enter when staying on site. It is good fun with rides which entertain all age groups. Our 7 year old daughter is just over 1.2m tall and was able to go on many of the rides, such as Falcon & Dragonfly. These are roller coasters which are great for young and old.

The on site water park (Tiki Bad) is also great fun. 3.5 Euro for 2 hours whilst staying in the resort. Many rides / slides etc... which keep the kids entertained.

Wassenaar is just a 5 min walk from the site with many shops and a few bars and restaurants.

We also took the opportunity for a day trip to Amsterdam, which is around 45 km north of Wassenaar. I would recommend the Park + Ride service as a convenient way of getting in to A'dam from the outskirts. There are regular bus / tram services from the P+R locations and it is good value at 8 Euros for 24hrs parking (including Transport for up to 5 Passengers).

Give it a try!!!

We travelled with stena line on the overnight Harwich-Hoek sailings. Cabin for 5 was comfortable and well-equipped and the boats, launched in 2010 are very luxurious for a ferry - we actually looked forward to the return sailing rather than dreading it !
On the site itself we stayed in a rather tired mobile home with Keycamp and their very low-key staff.
Park itself is amazing for kids with free unlimited access to theme park and only 3.50 pp to visit the Tikibad and its amazing flumes - remember your passport photo for your pass though.
Holland great as ever -everything well-organised and people laid-back and helpful.
Would definitely return to Duinrell, especially out of season when theme park and pool not too busy.

We booked with eurocamp and stayed in a 3 bed caravan with decking. I thought the caravan was alittle on the small side compared to the UK, but we did tend to spend most of the time on the decking. We went as a couple and also took our 2 dogs. There was plenty to do and we didn't have to leave the dogs out at all, the theme park even allows you to take the dogs around which was really handy. We visited alot of places out and about and only found one place that we coudn't take the dogs due to it still being classed as high season. We were pointed in the right direction where it was dog friendly. Wassenaar itself is only a few mins walk from the park and a nice walk out at night. The local vet was within walking distance also for our return trip. We traveled with P&O via Hull to Rotterdam, nice smooth crossing. We will be booking up again as is so much better value than going to a UK park and a lot more Dog Friendly.
