Where do i start.
This will be our third year in a row staying at this park. When i say we i mean myself, husband, son (8) and daughter (2)
We have stayed in both a mobile home and a tent. Would defo recommend mobile home but not a tent , well not with a baby.
There is so much to do. The theme park attached to the site is brilliant. My son adores it he has a big smile on his face all day and there are a few rides for adults aswell.
The tiki pool is also great, lots of water slides. Some are tame but be warned some are fast and dark, you can loose your senses in them.
The pool is free everyday for 2 hours between 10am and 2pm for guests staying on the site.
The theme park is also free everyday for guests staying at the park.
The town of wassenear is literally outside the site entrance. It is a lovely town with plenty of eating places and pubs, which are all so very family friendly.
It has quite a few shops in the town, everything you need.It also has a supermarket or 2 which are resonably priced. We also shop at the one in the centre called C1000.
There is a nice clean beach nearby.W e hire bikes to go there and it takes us about 40 mins to ride.
Cant really tell you about the other towns nearby as we never seem to have time to venture afar as to much to do at site and in wassenear,
If you got kids, hire bikes, ride around wassenear itself and you will find some nice play parks.
We like it that much we are going again with keycamps in 5 weeks time.
If any questions you are welcome to email me.
If you are going yourself hope you have a great time x

We have just spent a wonderful week in Wassenaar Holland at the Camp Duinrell. What a brilliant campsite, perhaps more for pre-teens though. There was six of us went, ma, pa, three teenagers and a six year old. There wasnt as much to do for the older kids maybe but the six year old loved every minute and if shes happy we're happy. I was originally worried about doing the trip using only public transport but it was so easy, we practically just turned up at the bus or train station and something came along. We flew to Amsterdam, had a day in Amsterdam as we couldnt check in the caravan til 4pm. Left the luggage in the lockers at the Central Train Station, then got the train to the Haag, then the bus 90 or 91 to Duinrell, helpful passengers pointed the way to the campsite (5 mins walk).
The best thing about the holiday for me was the bike hire, after not riding a bike for 20 years + I was rather nervous at first but by the end of the first day there was no stopping me, the ride to the beach was beautiful, stopping off at the pancake house on the way back of course for the best pancake I have ever tasted. The older kids went into Wassenaar at night, had fun at the Tappery bar and Rickys bar, we bought supplies from the C1000 supermarket, (crate of Grolsch 9 euros). The theme park was great for the little one, ok for the older ones, not so many big rides. One day got the bus to the Haag had a moouch round there, quite expensive though. Last day, we caught the bus to the Haag, train to Schiphol Airport to drop the bags off in the luggage lockers then onto Amsterdam, the public transport is so smooth you could ride it all day. Walked round Amsterdam, went to the floating flower market (excellent) the as a last day treat went to Hard Rock Cafe, down near Vondelpark.
The one and only complaint I would have is that we went with Canvas and the caravans had inadequate covers on the beds only 2 blankets each dont do much at night in mid April, so had to beg and borrow extra blankets and we did end up buying a quilt, this really needs to be sorted out as it was quite a problem. Because we had the heating on a lot we kept running out of gas and asking for more. I would definetley go again because the camsite was great fun, but next time I would be equipped with sleeping bags.

Stayed at Duinrell theme park in Wassenaar for 2 weeks beginnin of September 2007 for 2 weeks. Was totally awesome!! Great time in the theme park and pool, pool was great with lots of flumes and large swimming area. 10 flumes in total. Theme park also great tho based for younger kids - my b/f and 1 are 21 but still had lots of fun!! Couple of larger rides for teenagers involves going upside down etc. Dodgems, rollercoaster and water slides, chair swing and taboggen is also great. Booked tho keycamp so got large static caravan very specious but cold and the blankets made us sneeze as allergic and no duvets but that was only downside. Not many places to eat in the park - burger bar not too expensive and a buffet which we neva went to. nice pancake house very nearbyy and places in town to go.
Runs a bus direct to Amsterdam (tho you have to change bused on the outskirts of amsterdam but thats ok) for 10 € for a family of 4 ver good value!! Tho only run at wkends in the offseason and daily in the peak. Not very reliable sometimes turns up half hour late of even later!!
Went to the hague and leiden using the buses which are very good and good service til late at night
We flew with klm to amsterdam then got a train from schipol to the hague then bus from the hague right to the corner of the rd to duinrell which was great as didnt have to walk far with luggage!!

Overall a great 2 weeks!!

Visited Duinhell sorry Duinrell last summer with my wife and 2 boys, on what was our first camping trip.
Arrived at what seemed to be a lovely location plenty of trees and wildlife, nice little town with everyting you need right on the doorstep. But this was where most of the nice things ended.
We were allocated our pitch, then forced to buy a transformer for the electric extension box. Turned up at the pitch only to find some great big camper van pulling out, after emptying all the water and fag ends on the pitch, just perfect for pitching the tent. Went to ask if they were sure they put me in the right place and mention the fag ends only to be told tough that is all ther is.

Never told of any special things going on in the camop as most of the staff were very rude, but I think they all took the lead from the night manager her attitude was if you are not happy tough leave.

The only good thing about this place is the amusement park and the tiki pool, where we spent many a good hour just forgetting the disaster we were going back to.

The on site restaurants are far to expensive for what you get and the close far to early. But we found a very nice italian restaurant in Wassenaar where we spent most of our nights eating.

Overall this was my worst holiday to date and I would never go back.
