We have been going to Duinrell for 5 years and have stayed in all types of accomodation, love the dungalows, but for value select camp are the cheapest.

We love the amusement park and the water park. We love the small town of Wassenaar and the sea side town either side of wassenaar one of which also has a pier.

This area of Holland is so easy to explore, Leiden is a lovely place to visit and has a museum made to look like a human body, which the kids loved.

Its sad to think this may be the last year we visit as our kids are now growing up, but we have many happy memories of this place and the whole area, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

Duinrell is just great for families. We went with Keycamp, and stayed in a Prestige caravan. It was about £300 for six nights in May,just for accommodation. Brilliant value for money. This includes entry into the theme park, and to the pool complex. For the pool you pay about €4 each. These are right in the caravan park, which is so fab with kids; they are just busy and happy all day long. The park is full of old trees, and greenery, and the theme park is quite quaint, in a way. The rides are great, but it doesn't seem too manic. If it does get too busy, or kids are tired, you're a few minutes walk away from your caravan anyway; just go in and out of the park as you want. Pool is amazing, too, what a selection of pools and slides. Wassenaar is a gorgeous little town to wander round, a lovely part of Holland.
The only downsides are the pool changing area, it is minuscule, roasting hot and generally hellish! However, the campsite showers are a perfect solution. They are spotlessly clean, and have a separate children's shower area, too. So we just put towelling hooded tops on the kids, over their wet swimsuits, and walked through the park to the showers! You feel a teeny bit self conscious the first time; but lots of other people do it, too!
While the shower facilities, and the laundry facilities are spotless, I'm afraid the Keycamp caravan was not. The floor was covered in crumbs, and was dirty. The shower door was broken, and the outdoor furniture was filthy and broken. The weather was beautiful, so we wanted to sit outdoors, and so I just cleaned the furniture, swept the floors and mopped them. It was annoying, as this was our second trip, and we'd found the same problem last time. I'd even phoned in advance, to ask that the caravan be properly cleaned. If I'd paid high season prices and arrived to find such a dirty caravan, I'd have been furious.
Overall, though, for the price we paid, it is just an amazing family holiday; plenty for the kids to do, but the park still retains a lovely relaxing atmosphere.

Room Tip: We had the Prestige, Keycamp's most expensive caravan for this sight, and it was still quite dir...

We have just returned from a week at Duinrell, we stayed with Keycamp in a 2 bedroom villa nova mobile home. The site was well sign posted and easy to find and check in was friendly and easy. On arrival at our mobile home we found the window lock in our daughters room was broken so the window could be just pushed open, we reported this to our rep and it was fixed within half an hour which was impressive. Mobile home itself was a bit smaller than others we have stayed in but was clean and there was plenty of room for the 3 of us.
As it was April I was worried about being cold at night but there was electric heaters in both bedrooms and living area and it was plenty warm enough.
I had requested a home away from the action and we were in a lovely wooded area next to a stream with lots of friendly ducks. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the theme/water park.
The actual park itself was clean and well laid out. Our daughter who is 2 had a great time, there was plenty to keep her entertained, there is a really good play area and she was able to go on quite a few of the actual rides.
We used the tiki bad twice, both times was fairly empty, I can't comment on the slides as we didn't use them but we enjoyed the lazy river and the wave pool and there is a small paddling pool for toddlers. The water was lovely and warm. The only bad point we found was you pay €3.50 for a 2 hour session but the 2 hours includes changing time so you don't actually get 2 hours in the pool. we left the pool both times with 30 minutes to spare and both times we went over the 2 hours as its not easy to get yourself and a toddler changed in a very tiny cubicle. Luckily however we were not charged extra.
We really liked the campsite and the small town of Wassenaar but would not return to The Netherlands. We didn't know until we got there but in all of the supermarkets you can only pay with Maestro or cash, we only had a visa travel money card which was not accepted anywhere and could not draw cash out from it so our money we had put on it for our holiday was useless and we ended up drawing out limited money from our normal bank account. Also I personally found driving in Holland very stressful and in the whole week I never got used to the cycle lanes at roundabouts.
No complaints about Duinrell itself though or Keycamp, they both provided an enjoyable week.

Firstly, what a great option for half term, half the price of centre parts with so much more thrown in and the fun of being in another country!

Park was fine, not too big and facilities good. We went with key camp who got us a great deal on ferries to and from newcastle. The theme park was fan, no queues and plenty to do for the young and young at heart, good do with a touch up and lick of paint in parts, but thats nit picking. The pool again was great with lots for all, though as per previous reviews the staff do need to reign in the teens.

Supermarket onsite was so so but wassenaar is literally across the road and is a lovely little town with nice places to eat and the c1000 supermarket is fantastic with lovely fresh and staple products - top tip the supermarket has a free underground car park is you have a car and are going for a big shop.

Nearby the miniature city of madurodam was a great morning out, just a few miles down the road and lots of hands on things for the little ones as well as a fab pla area, but get there for opening at 9am to avoid queues.

What stopped this being a five star is the onsite catering. The take away was a farce and runny down right rude staff I particular the 'manager' at the time. The restaurant 'le place' again was very poor and not cheap.staff seemed more interested in looking cool I front of their friends and practicing their English swear words. But don't let this put you off, pop across the road into town and all its options. To be fair I have to acknowledge the staff at the 'pub' who were welcoming and what the rest should aspire to be.

Anyway lessons learnt and we'll certainly be back.

We booked to stay at Duinrell for 3 nights over Easter with Keycamp and we couldn't have enjoyed the park more. It really is tremendous value for money with the theme park included in the price of your stay and the water park subsidized. Easter this year was cold but all the rooms in the caravan had heating so it was very cozy and comfortable.

I cant speak highly enough of the restaurants, cafe's, bars and shops as well. They were very clean and all the food was prepared freshly and cooked to order. They were also reasonably priced. There has clearly been a considerable investment in the facilities recently which has paid off. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

My three children, aged 9 - 12 loved it at Duinrell and didn't want to leave, there was so much for them to do. They are already talking about going again so I suspect this may be an annual Easter visit.

Also worth mentioning that the drive from Calais is really easy and only takes roughly three and a half hours.

Room Tip: It's a big park so try and get a caravan near the theme park and pool otherwise you could be a g...
