Had to send out the Bacalao. The cod tasted like cucumber. There was no bacalao taste, just a lot of chili. The fish soup was better.

We only had a beer at Bacalao, so we can't say anything about their food. The beer was good, though, and the menu looked interesting. It has whale, of course. The location is unbeatable, smack in the middle of the harbour.

This is a large, busy, pub-like restaurant in Svolvaer, overlooking the harbour, just off the main square. We had our first Lofoten Islands meal here - a light lunch of tasty fish soup and an open prawn sandwich (lots of prawns!). Not a bad place and the food was tasty. Would eat here again and try the bacalao next time (we tried it somewhere else and it was divine).

2 adults and 2 children. We waited about 45 minutes for our food and the restaurant was only half full. The food itself was average and the portions were a little small

Had two meals at this warm and friendly restaurant/cafe. Tried the Bacaloa which was very good and also a chicken salad which was very plentiful. Even though meals are expensive in Norway the servings are big so you only need a main course. The prices here were pretty reasonable compared to other places in town and the location along the waterfront is great. Staff behind the bar were very friendly and helpful regarding local dishes. Would certainly recommend eating here
