The hotel is located close to the ferry / boat terminal (useful if you arrive from/headed to Bodo or on the Hurtigruten), but about a 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. The location seems to be a quasi-industrial area (though the newest attraction- Magic Ice has opened just behind it), so while the views/atmosphere aren't great, rooms are rather large (by Scandinavian standards) and comfortable with free internet access / free tea &coffee (in the lobby) thrown in.
OK for a short stay in Svolvaer (which is anyway usually a hop off point to /from the mainland - the "true" Lofoten experience is a rorbu stay in a fishing village like A or Henningsvaer) - there's not much to do in this town expect a visit to the Trollfjord. The only "superior" accomodation choice worth checking appears to be the Rica (on a small island across a bridge from town), but it's usually fully booked and relatively more expensive.
