“Excellent- five stars”
Reviewed 18 August 2012

Stayed at this hotel for five nights in August 2012. Hotel was five star all the way. Very friendly staff on check-in. We arrived at 10am and so room was not ready as expected but i was provided with changing facilities and towels to relax at beautiful pool area. Room still not ready by 3pm and was provided with complimentary drinks to compensate which was nice touch. Room was worth waiting for though. Very spacious, with most comfortable bed i have ever slept in. Bath big enough for two and separate shower. Flat screen tv with english channels for soaps etc so nice to relax before dinner. Gym was fine and enough to just keep yourself in bit of shape. Pool area and views were amazing..drinks 5 euro for glass of wine or large beer so that was fine but soft drinks poured from a large coke bottle and 3.50 euro for small glass and same for small bottle of water is bit on expensive side. Food also quite expensive and on the small side portion wise. I would suggest doing a small shop for soft drinks, water etc if you have kids as there is a fridge in room. The pool was busy but everyone very friendly. There is one main pool area with a childrens pool beside it and an adults only pool 2 minute walk away if u want peace and quiet. Loungers were very comfortable with cushions and parasols. Breakfast was excellent with great choice and served til 10.30am which was appreciated. Bit of a que at this time tho so 9.30 was better time to eat if you were not out too late the nite before. The pool was that nice that we didn't travel anywhere during the day but the shuttle bus runs at 7 times a day at appropriate times. 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9pm in the evening to get into the sister hotel situated right in the marina area. It is a brilliant service and well needed as we wouldn't have even considered walking the distance into villamoura. It is approx 7 miles and 8-12 euro in a taxi. Taxis were quite difficult to get during our stay and no reason was offered. One tip is def don't que at taxi rank beside marina and just hail a taxi near the mcdonalds resteraunt as this is quicker fare back to hotel. All in all an excellent hotel with free wifi in many areas except bedroom which is good to escape life back home.

...just nothing to do in this place exept playing golf all day long. So if you just want to play golf it is the place to be : the facilities are very good, practice are free of charge on the 7 golf course around. If you would like to do more like beach, restaurant or whatever, forget this place : the beachs around are overcrowed, parking require expensive fees.
concerning the appartment : wide, well equiped but ultra noisy : if someone in the same building go the toilets during the night you will enjoy the nice music....staff is very nice, always ready to help you but not sufficient to keep this addresss in your roadbook if you need more than a golf playground or a swimming pool !

We had a wonderful stay at Tivoli Victoria with our toddler. The children's pool with kids club next to it made this a perfect hotel for us. The kids club has lots of toys and activities. The rooms are very large and well decorated with walk in wardrobes, bathroom in the room (there are sliding doors if you want privacy) and balcony - just watch the marble floor with little ones. The restaurant staff are very friendly and efficient. The rooms are cleaned several times a day to a high standard. The hotel is fairly tranquil but it great that you can get the shuttle bus to marina for restaurants/bars and the beach. Only draw back for us was one of the shuttle bus drivers - not helpful and nearly caused an accident. I would recommend this hotel to families and golfers. Overall a great hotel - maybe not 5 star but definately 4.5!

We have just returned from our stay at the Tivoli Victoria. It is a wonderful, modern hotel which is in a quiet location about 10/15 coach ride to Vilamoura marina. The rooms are bright, modern and contemporary. The bathrooms are amazing with sliding doors and filled with wonderful smelling tolietries! The pool area is really cool with comfortable beds and helpful bar staff. We had lunch here most days and the choice is pretty limited and expensive... You can also have ice-creams and drinks.. We had breakfast included which is a real treat...Every type of breakfast you wish for... The only negatives I would say is that the choice of restaurants for dinner are really limited, you can either have the buffet which is 35 euros (a different choice of food every night) or there is a gourmet restaurant. As the majority of the people around the pool had small children (I was with 3 teenagers) I really think they would benefit from having more choice... plus if you want some entertainment after dinner forget it.. we visited the Pop bar a few evenings for a drink and it was deserted which was such a shame as you could sit overlooking the pool and they have put out huge lanterns with candles in. And the other downside if you like some 'life' is that you need to get the coach into Vilamoura and they only go at certain times. All in all we had a wonderful holiday experience and the weather was just perfect!

Stayed just 4 nights after looking at reviews I had emailed ahead and asked for room overlooking golf course. When we checked in our request had been granted and we were very happy, however this was tempered by the noise coming from a villa bordering the golf course it was like being at a night club!! We thought as it was the weekend it could be a one off. The next day we went down to the pool and when we came bk for lunch found Ants all over the couch and floor. We went to reception to report and the very efficient Luiz said he would arrange for the cleaners to see to them immediately. Upon return to the apartment we decided to go onto balcony to av lunch, we were then greeted with the horrendously loud music again. We decided to ask to be moved which Luiz sorted out immediately. We found out later that other people had also been moved. Take from this what you want although we encountered some problems they were dealt with very promptly. Staff very friendly and apartments beautiful. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Let me be upfront - this is not a hotel for "Brit package holiday makers " seeking wall to wall entertainment !

Our stay was perfect - top tips :
1] get a car - You could rely on cabs but we enjoyed the freedom of a car . Each apartment has 2 underground car park spaces.
2] Register with GHA pre departure - gold loyalty on line - receive free daily wireless and a free newspaper .
3] Ask for a golf course facing apartment - Block 6 or 7 . i think the units facing the pool may be noisy . Ours in block 6 was peace personified . A very comfortable 2 bed apartment , 2 WC's , well equipped kitchen and great AC.
4] Don't bother with the residence pool - we tripped across the road to the hotel as they pool was much better
5] Food around the pool a bit pricey
6] Breakfasts well worth 16E/adult and 8E kids and no different as a pay as you go versus pre booking
7] overall consensus with fellow holiday makers is that the sister hotel the tivoli marina is tired , overpriced and noisy
8] a trip to the marina is well worth it and all the restaurants on the marina seemed reasonable
9] free parking behind the McDonalds [ you can't miss it as you enter the Centro.]
10]The Apolonia supermarket in Almancil was a revelation and I would highly recommend a trip for stocking up.

Well enjoyed trip and a great quiet spot . Jao and Vlad on the front desk were great.

We've just returned from our second stay at the Tivoli Victoria Hotel. We had a brilliant 6 day stay. We arrived at 10.30am and were given our rooms several hours early. were just in time for breakfast. Breakfast here is just fantastic. Every type of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, cold meats, yogurts, juices and of course a huge selection of cooked items to choose from.
I don't understand the review which stated that there was only tinned fruit. I didn't see any.
Dinner is available as a buffet ( different theme every night) which costs €35 and includes water, soft drinks and beer / wine. The waiters are very generous at topping up the glasses!! Children under 12 are free.

The main pool area is just great and has free WIFI. It's also very well staffed with pool boys to move sunshades or find you a sunbed if it's busy though there are plenty to go around. In fact were always able to find plenty even at 11.30am.

Criticisms would be that pool snacks are very overpriced €14 for a club sandwich and €8 for a very basic soggy cheese toastie. This found is not of the same standard as breakfast or dinner.

The restaurant was very busy most nights although a lot of people go down to the marina to eat. We didn't bother as we just wanted to chill out without driving/ getting taxis.
