“Wonderful Hotel!”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We've just returned from a 4 night break at the Tivoli Victoria...and wow! I have never written a review before but I felt I just had to as we were so impressed!
From the moment you arrive everything is perfect. The rooms were absolutely beautiful, from the amazing open plan bathroom (you can close the sliding doors if you want privacy) with a beautiful big deep bath and walk-in shower, walk-in wardrobe to the comfortable beds and lovely fresh linen, to the lounge bed on the balcony and, my favourite, a Nespresso Machine! Oh and mirrors and plugs galore!! One of the best rooms we've stayed in and spotlessly clean.
The service was wonderful. Everyone who worked in the hotel were really friendly and polite and there was always plenty of staff to wait on you round the pool!
The pool area had a real chilled out feel, looked really trendy and the sun-beds were so comfy. And again, spotlessly clean. Just wished they heated the pool though, going for a swim was not for the faint hearted...freezing!
Breakfast was amazing! Delicious, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly cooked omlettes and pancakes...really really good. I like to drink hot water with lemon and our waiter bought this to me every morning with freshly cut lemons, he was so helpful. And again, absolutely spotless!!
Really wasn't expecting the hotel to be that good all round!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone! And we can't wait to go back because we certainly will!
Loved loved loved EVERYTHING about the Tivoli Victoria!

Stayed here on a business conference for 5 days. Golfers paradise, about 15 minutes in a taxi away from the main marina so peaceful / isolated depending on your point of view. There is a shuttle bus that operates throughout the day BUT at two hour intervals etc. Bedrooms are extremely well appointed with balconies, nice views, queen / super king sized beds and walk in / open plan showers etc. Breakfast and dinner very good quality. Bar situated in the main lobby area which is a bit odd. Staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Two pools and outside bar area. My wife visited the Spa and had an amazing massage but at €110 for an hour, not cheap.

We left it to late and failed to book our normal Hilton Vilamoura stay on 8th June, so I booked the Tivola Victoria, having researched it before as an alternative option. Thankfully the reviews lead me to this hotel which far excelled our normal Hilton choice.
The hotel is a little outside of Vilamoura nestled in its own golf course and is spread out, so it can take time to walk to your room and ideally you need a car. However they do provide a regular bus journey to take you 2 miles into Vilamoura Marina. The staff are exceptionally friendly, the rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The rooms are regularly cleaned and has a bath and a walk in shower, there is also a walk-in wardrobe and comfortable day beds on your balcony.
The pools are very clean areas with comfortable beds and spectacular views across the golf course. The spa offers free indoor pool on the roof with steam, sauna and jacuzzi but the massages and treatments were pricey.
The breakfast is vast me varied and the waiters are very keen to clean to serve and clear away without intruding. Someone has mentioned that the restaurant manageress was miserable but we found her very nice and it's a shame that people have to be personal. We were able to run every morning and evening around the golf course. We dined in EMO but this was pricey and the portions are small.
We did join the loyalty programme to gain access to the internet for free, which is charged to your room and deducted at the end. We will definitely be back. The hotel has many nationalities and varieties of clientele and is suitable for all types.
There is a large underground garage which is free to use. This hotel definitely ticks all the boxes to a relaxing holiday and trumps the Hilton Vilamoura.

Room Tip: You may want to ask for west or east facing rooms to have the sun on your balcony either in the morn...

Dear Guest,
We are delighted that we have been your choice in this recent visit to algarve and that you were impressed with the hotel services and facilities as well as our staff kindness. The EMO restaurant has been recognized for its efforts to develop Portuguese cuisine with its 3rd consecutive Golden Fork award so it has a great value for money, nevertheless we would like to thank you for your feedback about prices wich were worth of our best consideration and promptly shared with EMO´s Executive Chief.
We feel so honored to that you are considering to return and we look forward for your visit in a near future.

After an approx €30 taxi trip from the airport, we arrived not expecting our rooms to be ready as it was only about 10.45am. However, after a 5-10 min wait in the lobby, we were allocated our room key cards.

Our room was on the 2nd floor, accessible by either lift or stairs. As you approach the rooms, the flooring changes to a deep, sound absorbing carpet. Our key cards worked first time (doesn't always happen!) and we were both really impressed with the room. The standards of cleanliness were excellent & it was a good size. There was a separate toilet with bidet, and then what appeared to be a fairly open plan bathroom consisting of a modern trough style sink, bsth with central taps & shower style attachment plus a separate shower with rainfall shower head and another hand held shower type attachment. I say that it appeared to be quite open plan because in fact, upon closer inspection, the "walls" were on castors and adjustable. You could close it completely for total privacy if required. An unexpected bonus to be able to design the walls as required!

There was a walk in wardrobe with mirror inside, a bit like a mini dressing room. The safe was in there (free to use) along with drawers, shelving, a hanging rail with hangers, ironing board and iron plus a suitcase stand. It made me want similar at home!

Also in the room was a TV, couple of telephones and an alarm clock with a docking station for an iPod or iPhone. There were plenty of different lights and controls at each side of the bed. The bed itself was the best we've ever slept in and we heard other guests raving about them as well. The beds were huge for a start - way bigger than our usual king size - and the sheets and duvet cover had a really high thread count and so felt gloriously smooth to the touch. The pillows appeared a little too buoyant for me at first, but it collapsed into a wonderfully comfortable shape without squidging up & preventing me from breathing! This, coupled with the blackout curtains and no corridor/other room noise, made for a fantastic night's sleep.

The room had a balcony with two wide bed type loungers on it, which just begged for us to have a leisurely read on them before getting ready to go out in the evenings. The balcony faced a golf course and didn't get any sun but perhaps it's nice to know there's that bit of shade to retire to during the day.

The hotel pool looked amazing - a good size and spotlessly clean. There was a good choice of chairs, loungers & beds to choose from in a variety of different areas. The staff were generally very friendly and helpful and service around the pool was very good. I had a milkshake and toasted sandwich there one lunchtime, which I enjoyed. I just signed for it so that it would be charged to my room, avoiding the need to carry cash around the hotel.

The breakfast was of an excellent standard for a buffet style. There were pastries, cake, different breads, a toasting machine, fruit juices, fruit, cereal, yogurts, eggs, bacon etc plus omelettes cooked to order and freshly made pancakes. The choice was quite impressive. Tea & coffee are provided by waiter/waitress service at the table, with top-ups being regularly offered.

With regard to getting about, there isn't really anything to walk to near the hotel (we asked) so we took a taxi to the marina for about €10. The hotel runs a free shuttle service between it and it's sister hotel on the marina, but the timings were quite spaced out and didn't really suit us. The marina was pretty quiet when we visited on a Wednesday afternoon, but in a good way. We sat outside a couple of cafés and restaurants enjoying iced coffees in the sunshine, just looking at the yachts and people watching. We had a lunch of grilled sardines, which were on offer in a few of the restaurants - we would definitely recommend trying them. When not in the restaurant I needed to find a toilet and went to the public ones on the marina which cost about 30 cents. They were very clean, so don't hesitate if caught short! There are some further around the marina but are just for marina users and accessible only with a special swipe card.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel which also has a gym, indoor pool and spa. I scent comment on those however as I didn't visit them.

Great for golfers, families and romantic breaks.

Room Tip: Double deluxe was perfectly luxurious.

This hotel is fantastic.

Firstly if you are looking for peace and quiet, a nice relaxing break and brilliant food Vilamoura is the place.

The hotel was impeccably clean, the staff couldn't do enough for you and the rooms are spacious and modern.

rooms : our room was huge, had a huge bath tub and rainfall shower seperate. The balcony had a 3/4 bed which was was perfect for sleeping on in the evenings or sitting out on after a huge meal. The minibar in the room had a few drinks and snacks, the price wasnt too bad considering this is a 5 star hotel. 3 euros for a bottle of coke 4 euros for a beer.

pool: the pool was perfect, i have seen in previous reviews how people are complaining about how cold the pool was this is not the case, at first yes it can be cold but after you start swimming this will soon get away. With the temperate last week just going over 30 degrees it was perfect for cooling down after sitting in the sun for too long.

Food: The buffet breakfast variety was HUGE. They have food for everyone, pastries, fruit bar which had all the fresh fruit sliced ready to eat, fruit salads made daily. There was a section for breads, cereals, and then a hot food selection (bacon, sausage etc). As well as this there are two chefs every morning who make your omelette's upon request. I had one every morning, they have a range of toppings. The drinks available are tea, coffee (this is served directly to you by a member of staff) then there is all the juices, coffee's from the machine or even a glass of bubbly.

The food available in the day by the pool is limited however the food they do is very good. Big burgers with mcdonalds fries, club sandwiches etc. The food is prices around 11-16 euros for snacks by the pool.

Drinks: Soft Drinks are prices between 3-4euros and beer is prices around 5 euros for a pint. Spirits and mixers range from 9-20euros. Cocktails are around 15 euros each.

Location - we found the location perfect, although it is a 10minute taxi drive ranging from 10-15 euros each way. The distance means the hotel is alot quieter than the marina. We never used the shuttle bus as you are then restricted with times.

Marina : lots of nice places to eat. We ate here every night, tried different places, there are resturants to suite every budget. Generally we paid around 80-90 euros for a meal for the two of us. That included a bottle of wine, starter and main course (usually steak). Try the mayflower on the marina, this had amazing pastas, steak and fish.

We will be back again in September, amazing place.

Room Tip: We signed up to GHA travel, it is free to do online. Then once checked in showed the guy on receptio...

Just stayed here for the fourth time in recent years and is still as superb as ever. The hotel is spotlessly clean, modern with beds that are extremely comfortable. Breakfast had a huge choice but my husband asked if he could also order poached eggs, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and on the third day when we sat down to breakfast he was asked if he would like to order his poached eggs as usual. The free shuttle bus to Martina can be quite busy in the evening however it only cost €12 in a taxi which can be booked by reception. Will defiantly be returning for fifth time.

Room Tip: Room 004 is a junior suite with a superb view of the golf course.
