“Amazing hotel with the highest standards”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

We stayed in the residences beside the hotel. These apartments are managed by the hotel and provide the best of both worlds. They were beautiful and spacious and very well equipped. We then used half board at the hotel which was really excellent. We have stayed in a few five star hotels and taken the buffet and this was definetly the best hotel food we have had. We also used the pool at the hotel mostly and it was beautiful - the comfiest loungers I have ever laid on. Great service too! One of the best hotels we have stayed in!

Room Tip: Residences are great if you want space.

Following a bit of a shaky start, I have to say that my wife and I had a really lovely stay here.

Check in was swift and our room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. It was a little out of the way but tbh we didn't mind that as it was very quite in our side of the hotel.

Visited the pool which was quite busy and noisy with kids, not a great start. Went to get a drink and some light food in the lobby bar. Fine for me but my wife is a veggie and didn't enjoy the options.

At this stage I was starting to wonder if out three day break was gonna be a bit of a disaster but from then on the hotel really proved themselves to be excellent all round. Service was swift and efficient. Drinks were well made and food well presented and tasty. Pool was lovely and not overcrowded and there's an adults only pool if you want some peace and quiet. The hotel operates a very efficient and free bus service to and from vilamoura which we used every day and found to be really good.

Some cons:

Hotel shouldn't charge for water and coffee in the rooms.

More options on the light meal menu in lobby bar.

Can't order healthy food by the pool. Spa need to offer 30 minute treatments. We asked and were told that we could have a 30m massage but they make no mention of this.

Pros:

Amazing breakfast. Really it is terrific.

Rooms are lovely. Pool is really nice. Golf course is championship standard. Staff friendly and can't do enough for you.

Spa facilities are amazing.

Special mention to one of the waiters in the lobby bar who made my wife a special cocktail just the way she likes it and said he'd call it a Ginger Head for her!

Overall I think this is a terrific hotel and would return.

It was an amazing experience with fabulous service especially from Edgar Brito and Mareo Dores. The cocktails were amazing. The hotel was extremely clean and the rooms spacious. I love the coach that takes us to the city but feel it should end slightly later. Apart From that, I loved it.

Myself, my family and friends stayed at Tivoli Hotel Victoria, and my goodness we had the most fantastic holiday! We were made to feel so welcome, greeted with smiles - we explained my Aunty and Uncle were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, plus my Aunty's birthday, and they upgraded all 3 of our rooms for free! They also surprised my Aunty with Champagne on ice with chocolate covered strawberries - an absolute delight!
My Uncle is vegetarian, and the Chef in the restaurant was so attentive, making special dishes to ensure he enjoyed his meal! The chef came to speak to us everyday, and we explained it was my Aunty's birthday and that she loved Indian food - that night Bruno (the chef) made our whole family a very special Indian inspired meal. We were treated like royalty, all of the staff were just so wonderful to us, could not have asked for anything more!
The rooms were fabulous, bathrooms new and clean, and the swimming pool / golf course were stunning to look at.
This was by far one of the best holidays we have ever had, owed not only to the beautiful surroundings of the hotel, but the caring, happy, compassionate staff that work there. Bruno the chef is an absolute delight and every single staff member (too many to name!!) did their very best to make our stay comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a relaxing time!

I spent a week at Tivoli Victoria with my daughters from 14th to 21st July, I can't fault this hotel all the staff were wonderful and extremely helpful which definitely made our holiday perfect. We had a spacious clean room comfortable beds and towels replaced twice daily. The shower was spacious and plenty of wardrobe space for the three of us. The buffet breakfast was superb as was dinner with lots of different dishes every evening, we spent most of our time by the pool we only ventured outside of the hotel once to visit the Marina but loved this hotel so much we were happy to spend all our time there. There's a fantastic spa and hairdressers for that extra bit of pampering and first class golf facilities. I can't wait to go back to this wonderful hotel.

We booked a last minute trip to Portugal and this hotel as the complex we usually visit in Cyprus was fully booked, our first visit to Portugal and to be quite frank it wont be our last.
The hotel is approximately 25 minutes drive from Faro airport in a quiet residential area, adjacent to a beautifully landscaped golfing complex. The approach to the hotel, especially at night is breathtakingly beautiful, and the lobby area is very spacious, cool and well maintained. As soon as our car pulled up staff were there to greet us and take our bags.
Considering check-in was at 2pm onwards but we had an early morning flight and therefore arrived at 10.30am, the reception staff could not have been more helpful, the room we had been allocated was not ready but we were able to use all the hotel facilities, inclusive of the breakfast buffet (the breakfast buffet has something for everyone, traditional english breakfast items, omelettes cooked to order, cereals, fruit, salads, yoghurts, cold meats, cheese, juices, coffee, tea, danishes, to name a few) while they fast tracked our room, within 2 hours we recieved a call from reception to say our room was ready, and what a room, beautifully furnished, clean and very well equipped (absolutely loved the open plan feel when the walls to the bathroom were left open when not in use), with a patio/balcony and double sun lounger and cushions.
The main pool or family pool is the only pool we used during our stay, it has plenty of sun loungers, single and double, as well as cabanas, no need to come out at the crack of dawn and place towels on beds as everyone gets a bed. The pool boys are a credit to the hotel, eager and willing to help with moving/adjusting beds/parasols and are often seen cleaning up the area as they patrol the pool.
Most afternoons we ate around the pool, the menu is very limited, quite expensive and doesn't offer any healthy options, toasted sandwiches, wraps and burgers are the order of the day, though I would say that there is an extensive alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks menu!! lol.
We had the evening buffet on a couple of occassions at 35 euros per person, drinks are incuded and are limitless (beer, wine and hot and cold soft drinks), the food was ok, I have had worse, but found some of the dishes were a bit bland, again the staff are very attentive and eager to please, it's at this point I would like to give a shout out to Pedro, he is a font of knowledge when it comes to the food, area and culture, it was an absolute pleasure to meet this man, he went way beyond his duties where myself and my family were concerned on a number of occassions and I cannot thank him enough.
We used the hotel shuttle bus on a number of occassions and had no issues getting a space, we usually got a local cab back, cost ranged from 8.50 to 10 euros (would point out that it is not like hailing a cab in London or going to a cab office, you have to go the taxi ranks in specified locations around the marina).
All in all this is a fabulous hotel, my only gripe would be the fact that there is nothing within walking distance of the hotel and you have no facilities in the main hotel to make your own drinks or prepare food, even something as simple as a sandwich (a coffee maker is provided in each room but the capsules for making the coffee are 2euros and are charged as a mini bar item), which means the hotel has the monopoly especially at lunchtime as your choices are to either catch the free shuttle at 12.00 and return by shuttle at 3.15pm the earliest, pay for a cab or eat the limited items on offer at lunchtime in the hotel.
Would I return to this hotel?? without a shadow of a doubt, it is a beautifully maintained, quiet and very clean hotel, but would probably hire a car next time!!
