“Lovely location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013 via mobile

These apartments are ideal if you have kids as you get all the comfort of home in a luxury surrounding. Great pools, daily maid service and free shuttle to the harbour in Vilamoura only 5 minutes away. Just one thing that would be useful is a visitor guide in the apartments to tell you things like the free wifi, how to use the towel rails (we never got ours to work!!) and useful phone numbers etc. Other than that a great place to stay

This is my third stay here and it is fantastic. The apartments are fab, the staff are very friendly and helpful - wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Vilamoura. There is a free shuttle bus which runs from the hotel across the road but it's just as easy to ask Reception to ring for a taxi if you want to pop down to the Marina which is only 10 minutes away.

We ended up at this accommodation by fluke more than anything as our original accommodation appears to have either gone bust, closed down, changed names - we don't know and weren't given any explanation. Our travel agents were very good and helped us find alternate accommodation and to be honest, I think we struck gold with these apartments and are already looking at booking again for next summer.
As a family of 6 (including 2 stroppy teenagers), we required a 3 bed apartment - we were located on the 2nd floor in block 9, overlooking the pool area. A previous reviewer has already mentioned you are often misled from the 'official' photographs to the reality, however, what you see is what you get. Full kitchen, 3 beds (2 ensuite), 3rd bathroom, large living/dining area, large balcony (with a table and 6 chairs and a sun lounger), balcony on the master suite and also a large storage area. We had maid service every day with fresh clean towels and beds made which is a bonus for us mothers. The whole complex is very clean and the staff are continually going around the grounds either cleaning or gardening etc. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly and the staff at the bar are very efficient. Pool towels are provided, again, meaning fresh clean towels each day.
Transfer from Faro airport took about 20 mins and the complex is about 10 mins drive from Vilamoura marina - to us, that was a bonus, being away from the tourist traps. We didn't hire a car, and relied on the shuttle service which is free - we were there end of August and there was always 2 buses (one coach and a mini bus), so nobody missed out on a seat. If we return (which we are already planning) then I think we will hire a car for a couple of days, just so we can go a little further afield (like the aqua park) and also get a supermarket shop in. You can order groceries to be delivered to your apartment via reception, but you must give 24 hours notice. If it's not on the list, request it and they will do their best to accommodate you. I can't compare the prices with the supermarkets, so can't say if their prices were inflated, but I can recommend that the fresh buns (actually small baguettes) which we had delivered each morning were very well received by all as they were still warm!!
The pool area is quite large, with plenty of sunbeds - no issue of people putting out towels in the middle of the night. Because there are lots of young families there, then you do find that they are actually around and using the pool from about 9.30!! Our teenagers were just awaking then after several prods!! There is also an indoor pool with jacuzzi beside the outdoor pool if you fancy escaping the heat of the sun. The food/drink at any of the bars are not cheap, but you expect that at hotels etc. We stocked up on water etc for quenching thirst, then had indulgent drinks from the bar to keep costs down.
The Tivoli Victoria hotel is next door, and you can use their facilities also (pool, spa, restaurant, hairdressers) and anything you purchase can still be charged to your apartment, meaning you don't need to carry cash. If you are B&B or half board, then you eat in the hotel. The pool area at the hotel is large, but we actually preferred the pools at the residences. Only thing we were missing was perpaps the more luxurious sun beds (including doubles and cabanas), other than that, no difference.
Saturday night is BBQ night - you must book for this as it is very popular and children's age is only up to age 11, so we had to pay for 5 adults (inc a 13 yr old and 2 15 yr olds), so worked out quite pricey, but lots of food on offer and everyone ate their fill. Lovely atmosphere and staff worked hard to make it a sucess.
There are strict rules on when you can use the washing machines and open/close the shutters, but that is for the residents benefit as it could be quite noisy otherwise if they were to be used early morning/late evening.
We will definitely be returning to this complex, and when talking to other families, it was very good to see (and good recommendation for the residences), that people do return year after year.
All in all, for a first trip to Portugal for a family of 6, we all fell in love with the place, and the minions are all asking when we can come back - hopefully 2014!!!

Room Tip: Block 9 overlooking the pool area - great location.

Simply I rewrite another opinion about our acommodation for third year in a row in this hotel.
Everything works fantastic, the apartment, the cleaning, the pools.
It's a perfect place to enjoy Vilamoura, Almancial, all the Algarve. If you travel with kids it's fantastic because you have a full kitchen, a big terrace, two bathrooms, two rooms.
Next to The Residences is Tivoli Victoria, where you can enjoy with their bars, lounges, etc (Fantastic Mojito's).
We hope to repeat next year (it would be the fourth in a row).
I want to thank to all reception staff for their disposal, speaking us in Spanish

We are a family of 6 and require 3 bedrooms - the most cost effective way for us to do this was by staying at the Residences at Victoria Clube de Golfe. We had a 3 bedroom deluxe apartment in block 4 on the top floor overlooking the pool and some of the golf course. The apartment was very clean, had a double bed with ensuite (the shower could have been a bit more powerful) and 2 other twin rooms, one with an en-suite the other with a small toilet/shower room in the hallway.
Quite often when you look at photos on a website it's completely different when you get to your accommodation - in this instance what you see is what you get - maybe we were lucky! There is a bus put on FOC by the hotel which takes you to and from the marina - it's not hourly so you will have to plan your day around the bus timetable. We had access to the Tivoli Victoria hotel swimming pool... i will be writing a review on that one separately!!!
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
If we were going to say anything negative the only thing would be the noise of the nightclub 1km away! The hotel are aware of this but to be fair i think it depends on which block you are in/which room/which floor as to how much of the noise you hear. The kids didn't hear anything!
All in all a very pleasant stay and we would go back ;)

Room Tip: If you book deluxe you will get better views...

We stayed for 7 nights in May, the Apartments are very nice but are very remote, a good 10 minute drive into Vilamoura, I know that the Residence offer a shuttle service into the Marina but we went at half term and if you were not a the shuttle stop early enough you would not have got on the bus. We ordered a cab every night which was a bit of a nightmare, always late even though I had ordered a private taxi via the reception desk, the cost into Vilamoura is 12 euro each way and 20 euro into quateria. The complex is lovely very clean and a great pool bar and snack bar, and if you fancied a change of scenery you could go over to the hotel, which was no more than a three minute walk away, we went to the hotel everyday for breakfast and stayed around there pool for most of the time. Big white double sun beds, chilled music and great pool service for drinks. The snack bar at the hotel is not as good as the snack bar at the apartments and much dearer. My son & husband played golf at 3 courses around Vilamoura and used the hotels free shuttle service. We pre booked this via Luis in Reception before we travelled, we also booked a private taxi transfer from the airport which I would recommend its 35 euro and Christina will stop on route at a supermarket for you, as there is nothing close by the apartments. My only criticism would be, the beds are like rocks, you can ask for a topper ( i had 3 ) and they are still hard and so are the pillows, not normal 5 star quality, also the shower room in the apartments is very small and the heated towel rails are dangerously hot. ( my daughter scaled her arm ) I would go back because its a lovely complex and my son and husband love there golf. ( they hired clubs from the airport brilliant quality and service)

Room Tip: Golf course view top floor have the sun most of the day.

We stayed here in May 2013 for one week. We arrived to driving rain and typically Irish temperatures so we were feeling a bit blue on arrival. When we got to the resort our spirits were immediately lifted. The staff were very helpful, affording us a welcome early check in. The T2 apartment overlooking the golf course was spectacular - modern, spacious and beautifully decorated. The best thing about staying there was that essentially you were getting 2 resorts for the price of one, with full access to all facilities, including breakfast, at the adjacent Tivoli Victoria Hotel which is spectacular. There are gym facilities etc at both resorts which are basic but fine. There is an indoor pool at the residences and the spa at the Tivoli is probably the most relaxing place I've ever been in - it's free of charge too. Breakfast was lovely as were the pool snacks etc.
One slight drawback was the €15 per day charge for wifi in your room but this wasn't a major issue as wifi was free in the lobby of both resorts. I would recommend renting a car if you're staying here but the hotel run regular shuttles to Vilamoura. Residents can avail of discounted green fees at the adjoining Victoria course (beautiful but tough!) and range balls are complimentary at any time during opening hours.
The residents lobby bar at the hotel was almost deserted but again this isn't really an issue as the trend is to eat out and sample the nightlife in Vilamoura.
In summary I couldn't recommend the resort highly enough and if you travel as two couples and stay in a T2 apartment you can have a very reasonably priced holiday in a genuine 5 star resort. Can't wait to go back. PS. the weather improved once we checked in!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Block 7 which is closest to the golf course. It was quiet with beautiful views of the c...
