“Enjoyable Golf holiday”
Review of Laguna Golf Club

Owner description: The Laguna Golf Course has earned a reputation as being a somewhat unique offering within the Vilamoura golf portfolio. While its many water hazards and few trees set it apart, it truly finds its individuality in the number of holes which convey characteristics of a traditional links layout. American golf course architect Joseph Lee was given the responsibility for setting out the Laguna Course over low-lying coastal terrain, and in this setting was able to establish 18 holes which offer a wide variety of playing conditions. No.Holes: 18 | PAR: 72 | Length: 6121 m | Slope Rating: 129 | Architect: Joseph Lee | Location: Vilamoura, Algarve The Facilities: Clubhouse | Golf Shop | Driving Range | Putting Green | Bar/Restaurant | Buggy Bar | Valet Service | Free WiFi

“Enjoyable Golf holiday”
Reviewed 7 May 2010

We played 4 Vilamoura courses: Pinhal, Laguna, Millennium (managed by Oceanico) and VillaSol. All courses were in an excellent condition (beginning of May 2010).

VillaSol is targeted at more accomplished Golfers (you should be shooting to at least the lower end of the 20s to really enjoy it). Millennium is at the other end of the spectrum, offering great entertainment to the high handicapper. Pinhal (special feature: mature trees and lots of them) and Laguna (special feature: water as you guessed from the name) are somewhere in the middle; approachable and fun (if a wee bit challenging) for the high handicapper and still fun for the better player. What impressed us was that all courses were in an excellent condition and that some bargains were to be had (50% if starting after 2pm - with daylight until 8pm that leaves plenty of time to finish a round.

Would I go again: yes
Value for money: very good if you go for one of the 50% off deals, otherwise OK
Surrounding: very pleasant in off season! The Hilton was a lovely hotel, there were some nice restaurants apart from the overpriced touristy crap
Service: good; friendly and helpful staff at the courses

“Terrible course”
Reviewed 21 February 2010

The courses offered by Oceanic group including Millenium, Laguna etc are complete rubbish. They are designed for the high handicap and new golfers. Definitely not worth the money or effort. Greens are fast but bumpy, full of stones and the odd pot hole. The fairways are terrible. We went in Feb and the weather was awful too.
