Excellent apartment making a 'budget break' into a fantastic short holiday.
We booked through easyjet holidays for a 4 day bank holiday break and the flights, transfers to and from Faro Airport with Yellowfish Transfers, and the Parque Mourabel Apartment made this one the best 'short breaks' we have had.
We were allocated a top floor 1 bed apartment (no90) - serviced by lifts - and whilst basic in furnishings and decor it was fully equipped including A/C and a full length large balcony with a built in BBQ (we did not use this but charcoal was supplied).
Excellent vistas of Vilamoura, the sea and the surrounding golf courses .
One note of caution - being on the top floor the balcony was an attraction for a number of birds and their droppings did require regular cleaning. The weather was superb and the pool was clean and popular with plenty of sun beds available whilst we were there although I do not know at what capacity level of the complex during our short stay.
The location is leisurely 20-30 min walk to the marina via the 'health walk' - a large park like walkway between the dual carriageway - not as horrendous as it may sound - as this is a large wide expanse with very well tended plants and trees. Alternatively a taxi ride from hotel - marina costs between 5-6 euros and a courtesy minibus runs 2-3 times a day to the marina from reception.

Room Tip: Would recommend higher floors for the views

Apartment excellent, everything available and so clean. TV, Fridge/freezer, microwave. Lovely bedroom and excellent view on the balcony over looking the pool. 5 minute walk to a lovely restaurant and the great pub called "Parkys", Great food and good atmosphere. A must to do is the Health Walk which takes you to the Vilamoura marina which is lovely and takes about 30 minutes walk, Lovely weather and spent lots of time on the beach enjoying the sun. We will be booking for next year without doubt. We will be back. Bev

Room Tip: Room 10 was lovely, great view over looking the pool.

Booked here as was on a budget. Adults and children on holiday for 5 nights, £76 for the stay! Arrived to find Scottish lady in reception who was lovely and helpful, showed us around the complex and up to our room. The one bed apartment was on the fourth floor, however there are lifts and the apartment was huge! Although a little dated it was the largest and best equipt apartment I've ever stayed in!!! Nice large balcony with sea and sun set view, wonderful. Booked self catering but we did pay for breakfast on two mornings, this was cheaper if you booked at reception 4.90 euros each and breakfast was buffet continental and full English in the lovely restaurant, didn't eat other meals so can't comment however prices seemed reasonable. 1.50 for a coffee, about 60p for soft drink so overall not too bad. There is a little but well stocked supermarket about 100 metres or so down the road but found a larger one in quateria which was much cheaper. Pool areas here and at the sister complex are lovely, clean with shady areas overall a fab place to kick back and relax and for the money who can complain? If I were to go again I would hire a car, the complex is about a 20 min walk to the marina ( which is gorgeous) and from there about another 15 walk to next town qyateria and I found taxi fares to be expensive, especially with the obligatory tip ha ha. The complex does have a complimentary shuttle down to marina at 9,11 and 4 but we always missed it as we were up and out or still out on an evening. Would go back as a couple and enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere with a cocktail or three :)

We booked for 2 weeks in a superior 1 bedroomed apartment. this was in the main complex. the apartment was amazing, it had aircon in the lounge and bedroom, a large balcony 1 bedroom with ample storage space. A proper kitchen with electric 4 ring ceramic hob, oven and microwave and a large fridge freezer. Ample utensils and plates, cups etc. Large lounge with dining area 2 large settees and a 4 place dining table and chairs. the balcony was huge with a pull out airer and a LCD television. the staff were great and the manager Joaquim was very helpful. Our apartment overlooked the pool and we could just see the sea from our balcony. the hotel is quite a way out from Vilamoura, but there is a courtesy bus and the Noddy train as well. there is also a bus stop just round the corner where you can catch the service bus.
Some of the apartments were being updated whilst we were there, this was quite noisy during the day and did spoil our holiday enjoyment. We would go back to these apartments but not until the renovation work has finished. The walk into Vilamoura was exceptional, in that you walk down the middle of the dual carriageway which is actually a keep fit area, there are stations to do exercises and to take water onboard, we used them to have a rest.

Room Tip: The superior rooms are the best in the main complex

All the staff were so friendly & helpful. We have both said that would go back any time

This is a nice, no frills complex, with lovely gardens, perfect for an out of season bargain break. In a pleasant quiet area; even though we looked out over the road and reception, it was very quiet with little traffic. There are no rowdy bars or restaurants nearby, just a supermarket 5 mins walk, and some bars/cafes about 10 mins stroll away. We used the little road train (2€ each way), or the free shuttle bus to the beaches and marina/town centre. We walked in a few times, a very nice 20-30 min stroll, mostly along a flat beautifully landscaped path. We felt very safe walking on our own. Our 1 bedroom apartment was really nice, well decorated, with huge sliding patio doors out onto a large balcony with table, chairs and washing rack. Take some pegs, as it always seemed to be windy. We found the beds a little too hard, and the bedroom dark and a bit cramped, so we slept (very well) on the sofa beds, only using the bedroom as a 'dressing room'. We had a small galley kitchen, with large fridge/freezer, hob, oven, grill, toaster, microwave, kettle and teapot. There was sufficient crockery, cutlery and utensils, plus an iron and board. We had air conditioning in the lounge and bedroom, and BBC1, Sky news and Film on 4 on a nice modern telly. We were cleaned, bins emptied and given fresh towels 4 times during our 7 night stay. Sheets were changed once, mid week. We found the staff welcoming and helpful at all times, even when we arrived at 1 AM. We were able to print our return boarding cards for 1€, and staff would book us taxi transfers eg to Albufeira (€12 return). There is a charge for internet, but we didn't need it.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor in the Mourabel, overlooking the quiet road if you want to admire the sunset, o...
