We are going to the hotel for the 18th time on Wednesday 27th May. My wife and myself usually go but this time my son, his wife and my 3 year old grand daughter are coming with us., son & wife have been 3 times before & love it,
The staff are superb, rooms always clean and tidy & cleaned every day. We go bed & breakfast as we prefer to eat out, though eating on the marina can be expensive there are plenty of places off the marina which are cheaper.
The 19th Hole on the Marina is very good for basic meals & there are several speciality resteraunts if you want traditional Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Indian etc, there is something for everyone. We also eat at the Beach Bar (Buzzos) at night and it is excellent & just across from the hotel. The staff are superb and most helpful and the food is top class (recommend the pork very highly).
There is plenty of selection for breakfast in the hotel and Petunias (next to the supermarket) is excellent for a snack at lunch time.
The evening entertainment in the hotel is good but could be a lot better though there is something for everyone over the week.
We always have a junior suite and I have never had any problem with noise in all my visits & have never been kept awake once.
Be wary if you have a lounger on the beach as they are expensive. If you dont intend staying on the beach all day make sure to ask for half a day when paying as they dont tell you that half days are available and you can get 4-5 hours if paying for half a day.
As the title suggests we just keep coming back as we love the place and have made many friends there.
Hope this helps and enjoy your stay.
One last thing DO NOT BOOK TRIPS OUT WITH YOUR TRAVEL REPS.......All are available for much less on the marina where you can book at two or three places, the first being the fancy goods shop about 10 yards down on your right as you first go onto the Marina & if you book with them you will save a lot of money than if you book the same trips with your reps.
Have fun & enjoy your stay.

Recently stayed at the Vila Gale Amplius hotel but was quite disappointed with the hotel. Check in took almost 30 minutes but we arrived at the hotel by 12 noon and our room wasn't ready til 3pm, but we were able to leave our luggage in a locked room. The room was quite nice {junior suite} overlooking the sea on the 9th floor. To be honest the staff thought were unhelpful and the hotel was very old looking and dark. The food was not what we would expect from a 4*. Breakfast from 9am was very busy and because we were half board the evening meal selection was very poor. If you don't like fish then you are in trouble, although you did have the choice of one meat which was carved very thin. We ended up eating out was I was fed up of living on salad. Be aware that an evening meal will cost you 25Euros + pp and a pint o lager in the evening will set you back in most bars in the evening 4.50 -5 euros! The marina was lovely and the location was great but is rediculously expensive. If you smoke then then you won't be able to buy cheap tobacco, we went on the trip to Sevillah in spain and found it very cheap their. Do the safari it was great the highlight of our holiday. Went to Albufeira for the day and found it cheap but very busy. Nightlife on the marina was pretty good, the 19th Hole bar was very good and stays open til 2am!

It was my first proper holiday abroad and i went with my friend and her parents,i was amazed as soon as we arrived it looked really posh and very clean reception was posh aswell.Rooms were very clean and bathroom, room was cleaned daily aswell as new towels everyday.Breakfast was very good with a buffet every morning with a wide range of food.We used sun loungers most days altho you had to be quick to get one.Beach was literally across the road. There was many restaurants nearby most quite posh but served english food. The best thing about the holiday was how close it was to the beach, the thing that i liked the least that there wasnt very much in the area for teenagers/children.Very nice and enjoyed my 2 week stay would definatly go back anytime.

We stayed in this hotel in October. We arrived a day later than we had reserved, and were glad that we had called the resort to tell them we'd be late, because on arrival we found it was fully booked - a suprise for October but usually a good sign!

The apartment was excellent. It was a large, duplex apartment, with two large balconies and three bathrooms. We invited friends round for a dinner party and found there to be plenty of space for everyone, and although the kitchen was small, it was well equipped enough for us to be able to prepare dinner for all.

We didn't take advantage of many of the onsite facilities, but the swimming pool etc all looked fine, and the staff were always very helpful with questions. We ate one night in the on-site restaurant, opting for the buffet, which was pretty poor to be honest. However, it does seem like they rotate the type of food available a lot, so many other nights are better. (we didn't bother to risk it, as there are plenty of restaurants nearby). Breakfast there the next morning was better however, with a good selection available.

Location-wise, the hotel is excellent. Short walk to the beach, various things around Vilamoura, or the more run-down but more authentic feeling Quarteira. Loads of restaurants and bars around. No car required although if you're staying more than a week, I'd reccomend it, as there's a lot to see in the Algarve.

We enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to go back.

Excellent hotel. If you've got kids this is the hotel for you.We stayed here for 1 week and when we got home I booked it again for 2 weeks next year.If the hotel was any closer to the beach it would be in the sea.The resort couldn't be nicer with the harbour and one of the best beaches I've ever seen. Both the resort and the hotel are extremely clean. The staff in the hotel were very helpfull.I really couldn't find fault with anything in the hotel.Highly recommended.

My husband and i stayed here for 6days recently other than where the hotel is situated its ok ,our room was on the front with seaviews which were great ,room was very clean and tidy, maid service was excellent . the actual hotel inside was fine but we were not impressed with the breakfast, reminded me of a cattle market ,in, eat, and out. It was a self service breakfast they had the usual typical english which we found either warm or cold, you had to search for a table and they didnt seem to have enough staff to clear the tables ready for next person. Towards the end of our stay we ate down by the marina. The pool area was great but pool very cold plenty of loungers and they provide towels. We would stay there again as the staff were very friendly but the breakfast could do with revamp to warrant its star status .
