It's more of an aparthotel. It's an old building, needing some extensive renovation. But the rooms are big and clean. A big balcony and living room.
The good thing is the price. Specially considering the location. 50 meters from the marina.
Breakfast is basic but does the job.

Shabby 2 star rooms, very poor lighting in corridors, night club on ground floor that open until 6am. The breakfast was just pig slop and coffee like sludge. The only thing its got going for it, is its location. Just one minute walk to the harbor.

Forget the four stars that must of been in the 70's, its a two star lads away getting drunk hotel.

Room Tip: The higher the better to get away from the noise

The Olympus is now a Luna hotel and has been renamed Olympus Suites. It is essentially an "aparthotel" which provides rooms which are self-catering (there is a microwave, fridge freezer and two hobs for knocking up a snack) with breakfast. Flat screen TV with some satellite channels - but the most uncomfortable sofa from which to watch it!! Don't expect luxury and you will not be disappointed. However, the hotel does provide clean, basic accommodation in a convenient location in the middle of Vilamoura. There is a swimming pool with sunbathing area and a small bar. The breakfast provided alternates daily (one day fried and boiled eggs and the next tortilla and scrambled eggs) with bacon, continental sausage, beans, mushrooms. Continental meat/cheese selection, fruit, cereals, juice, coffee, selection of breads. It is not luxury standard but is perfectly OK for a 4 night stay and enough to keep a golfer going through a round!!!! I have stayed at this hotel on a golf break on about 4 occasions over the last 6 years and return because the rooms are a good size with a good sized "living" area. There is always ample hot water for showers. It is also very quiet despite having big groups of golfers staying.

Room Tip: Two bedroom suites are very roomy. Back of hotel avoids road noise.

My wife and I went to Vilamoura for a week to relax and that's what we did apart from when we were in this so called four star hotel. When we arrived we were allocated room 608 and on opening the door we were met by a stale sour smell ,so we asked for another room and was transferred to 806, which had a large balcony The view over the Marina was very good, pity I couldn't say the same for the comfort of the beds and the sofa. They were very basic to say the least the mattresses were so thin that you could see the marks of the bed springs on your back, and the sofa was well worn and marked. However the room and linen was cleaned daily. The hotel is old and tired needs a good update, having been in many 4 and 5 Star hotels this one falls very short of the mark. Breakfast was like a work canteen food very basic often never replenished.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms face the Marina, but ask for the 6th floor or above to get a good view

Great location close to all bars and amenities. Hotel is fine for a bunch of lads. It's pretty good value too. Breakfast is varied. Hot food is an acquired taste. Was pretty quite so no sleepless nights.

Stayed at the Olympus Hotel as a party of 8 Golfers over the weekend of 21st Sept.
After reading reviews on Trip Advisor i was aware of the comments re certain rooms and noise.
When i was given my room (204) the first thing i did was to walk out onto the balcony, only to discover that it was at the front of the Hotel, right above the bar that was open till 6am.
Back down to reception i went, and requested politely that i was not going to stay in that room. The receptionist was not overly helpful, but change the room to 301, which was a rear facing room overlooking the swimming pool and gardens, and to be fair it was very good.
As stated elsewhere the room are somewhat tired and dated but were clean, and were cleaned every day.
You get a large lounge area and also Fridge, Microwave, Toaster, kettle so can easily be self sufficient if you wish.
The Hotel corridors are very dark and the rooms doors would not look out of place in Stalag 17, but as somewhere to sleep and be near the Marina i found it to be OK
The breakfast room does not open till 8am, so if you are off to Golf early, you will need to find somewhere else. The breakfast choice was fine, with fruit, cheese, ham, bacon, sausage, cereals, toast etc etc all available.
Overall as long as you get a room overlooking the pool, the Hotel is fine, and i would stay again

Room Tip: Always get a room at the rear of the Hotel overlooking the pool/gardens. If you are given a front...

Location... Brilliant, 60 yards Marina 5 mins walk beach, 150 bars, cafe's & restaurants within 10 mins ( high end to MaccaD's.)
Breakfast.... Really good choices, plenty nice light breakfast area.
Pool Area... Lovely pool and garden area sheltered from Any Breeze. Although the lounges need cushions, couldn't lie on them and get comfy.
Rooms... Fourth floor on front, sun in afternoon good view of Marina , bit noisy at night,(didn't bother us a bit, nice to hear people having good time) advice.. higher the better, back has more day time sun looks over pool, front better views late afternoon sun.
Beds bit hard, dodgy plumbing in bathroom, promptly fixed, maids/ cleaners EXCELLENT.
Nice roomy feel, good sized balcony
Lifts good.
Coridoors dark at night!!!!
And finally... Good job my other half was there as I could never unlock the room door, lock needed a nack to open, I never ever got the hang of it!!!
