This is our third visit to the Lake resort and I normally don't leave a review. But I really feel I must share this amazing hotel it never fails to disappoint! Quiet spot five minutes from marina. Lovely communal areas with three pools (one like a beach, one heated and one cold one). The spa also has a lovely pool with various jets a sauna, steam room and a roman bath the latter not sure what it does! Chill out beds are great but you would need an early start to get one! Wifi ok you can even get it by the pool if you position yourself close to pool bar. Bedrooms are spacious with balconies and the walk in shower is lovely. TV slightly lacks in English content(2channels). Bit of room in mini bar fridge for your own bits and bobs. 1st class breakfast great variety, seating in or out. Lunch at the pool bar good if you fancy a lazy day. Bars and restaurants in the evening are quiet but with endless choice of restaurants down in the marina you have to go and explore. Advakat excellent but pricey. Baganca Mar with Ceaser the owner looking after you off the Marina brilliant. O'Neills for an Irish pint at Irish prices but it's good with a bit of music every night. Vilamoura purpose built for what it does and does it well we will be back. And when we do it will be at the Lake Resort.

i wished every hotel was like this extremely lovely hotel ,staff very friendly ,beautiful surroundings plenty of really nice relaxing areas with the 4 poster type chill out beds by the 3 pools we could have stayed there forever but you have to move eventually to discover other areas also lovely .the rooms are also very good with separate toilet and shower room and if you want a kettle in your room just ask .the food for breakfast is very good with plenty of choice with champagne if you so wish we really could not fault the hotel in any way and would love to return to this luxury its also very close to the marina being only 5 mins away go and book it you will love it

Room Tip: overlooking the pools and lake

Stayed here twice now summer (july) and again in September. The rooms are spacious, clean and of a high standard. The staff were v helpful and accommodating in both the hotel and pool area. The pool has great big beds around both the pool and small beach themed pool. I prefered our Sept trip , not as busy. We had a room facing the pool/sea both time. The marina area of Villamour isnt much although if you are looking to stay in this area id recommend this hotel. The food at lunch within the pool bar was also great, we stayed here 6 out of 7 days . Only a 5/10 min walk to start of the marina.

Attended a wedding here last weekend and all I can say is wow. The hotel has a beautiful setting on the lake. Drinks reception by the water on a beautiful sunny day provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding. Canapes on arrival were amazing and plentiful, had to stop myself eating too many to save room for dinner! Dinner, both food and service, were great. Staff were pleasant and friendly. A large hotel complex which I’m sure is a treat to stay in.

Absolutely excellent, if you are thinking about staying here, just book! the hotel really is just off the marina, a very short walk to the bars (quiet bars, not a problem noise wise) and restaurants there. Bars and restaurant (only one open in late October) very good. Hotel is beautiful, staff incredibly helpful, lovely spa if the weather isn't what you'd hoped. The hotel will lend you bikes if you ask.

Stayed in October for 5 nights , this is our second time in this resort , I would say its a lovely resort plenty outside space , plenty sun beds for this time of year , breakfast good but can get a little congested in the small breakfast area , good choice of food for breakfast . I had a feeling that the standards are just not quite up to 5 star , we were in room 231 , the chair at the desk was very badly stained , carpets and walls in the hotel corridors stained and marked , and if the hotel says they do a turn down service then they should do it correctly , not at 4.30 in the afternoon when you are having a nap , in fact one lady just knocked the door and stuffed two chocolates into your hand ! Not quite what most people would like , usually when you are out for the evening your bed would be turned down and side lamps put on and a chocolate on pillow , nice touch and a feeling of being special , not bothered about a turndown service but if you are doing it please do it right !! Overall we had a lovely time but will not return as feel it's getting a little tired . We took a look at a few other hotels and the crown plaza were showed us there rooms and junior suits , all newly refurbished and I think better value for money , so we will poss try this one the next time .

This hotel is fabulous, we have had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend staying here when visiting Portugal. The staff are 100% professional and friendly. We have spent most evenings dining in the restaurant as the menu is sophisticated and have enjoyed sampling the regions wines. We will certainly be returning!
