Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa

Most properties post pictures that show it to the best advantage but when you arrive, it isn't quite what it seemed. Not so the Hilton Vilamoura! The pictures are exactly what you find when you arrive and the property is beautiful, well maintained and luxurious. We had a two bedroom for our visit of 7 days (Hilton Grand Vacation owner) and found a lovely gift basket in the room, which was well stocked and cleaned daily. The location was wonderful, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful and the spa was quite nice. I would highly recommend this property for singles or families. I can't wait to return!

I cant give enough praise to all the staff at this hotel.
Breakfast was excellent as was the service, the staff were attentive, extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble.

The only negative is that the pool is not available until 9am. In fact gates are locked to prevent entry! It does stop guests from hogging sunbeds though! However you should expect to have an early morning swim if you choose??

The shuttle buses were frequent and no hassle to the beach, and in the evening into town. Taxis were only 4 euros if shuttle buses were inconvenient.

Beach facilities for the Hilton were good, and a lovely beach to spend the day on. However - strangely enough - you have to pay to have a quick shower!!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Hilton Vilamoura and for sharing your comments on TripAdvisor.

We are very proud of our resort and its facilities but it is invariably our staff who receive the most praise from our guests; and rightfully so I might add.
Their unwavering commitment to perform to the highest standards while embracing the Hilton values is reflected in how our guests feel truly valued and cared for. I am certain that your kind words will give them the encouragement and inspiration to continue to excel in their duties and ultimately exceed our guests’ expectations.

In addressing your less positive comments, I sincerely regret that you felt inconvenienced by the pool opening hours and having to pay for the shower at the beach. Your feedback is much appreciated and will be taken into account should the need arise to review the set up of our operations in future. After all, streamlining our services to meet our guests’ needs is first and foremost our main goal. As regards the beach concession, I’m afraid that the running and use of the facilities have to comply with contractual obligations to which we are bound.

Once again thank you for your truly valuable comments and I hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your friends back to the Hilton Vilamoura in the near future.

Kind regards,

Stayed in the apparment side of the resort and was very impressed with the style but there were disappointments to our stay. We had a two bed appartment which comprised of a galley kitchen, large lounge and dinning area, 2 bedrooms - the main with ensuite bathroom and the 2nd bedroom with a smaller shower room and loo off the corridor.
The check-in staff were very friendly and helpful - really informative.
The appartment had very comformatable furniture and beds, the main bedroom was a good size as was the bathroom - the second bed and shower room were small and wouldn't have been suitable for 2 adults.
The kitchen was a bit of a disappointment - no teaspoons, only a few glasses, but for some reason lots and lots of plates. Unfortunately, we appeared to have a dodgy front door (reception told us that "there is a knack to opening the door"), and one of the glass sliding doors on to the balcony had a large crack in it. All of these things we mentioned on check out at reception and were met with blank looks - hopefully they will be resolved for the next occupant.
The pool attached to the appartments (although I assume we could have used the main pool) was a good size, however you had to squeeze around the edge of the pool and the sun loungers if you wanted to walk around it - the designer obviously didn't measure an average sunbed to see if it would fit.
All in all very stylish, but the basics could be improved.

Just completed our 4th stay at this hotel and still love it. It is beautiful, has a fabulous, helpful staff, cool and comfortable room, and numerous amenities. Love the breakfast buffet, though the staff seems a bit overwhelmed when it is very crowded. Also enjoy the themed dinner buffets. Take the free shuttle to the gorgeous Falesia beach. And make sure to leave the resort and see some of the rest of the Algarve. We especially like the Igreja San Lourenco, the Roman Ruins near Estoi, Sagres and Cabo San Vincente, and the village of Tavira.

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for posting such positive feedback and giving us the top score on TripAdvisor’s rating.

Your loyalty and kind comments on the facilities and staff are very much appreciated and will be shared with the entire team at the resort.

I am so pleased you enjoyed our breakfast buffet and have passed on your comment about the staff to our Food & Beverage Manager. Although our teams are continually trained and their performance monitored to ensure consistency, there is of course always room for improvement.

You are so very right to point out the many places which are worth seeing outside of the resort and Vilamoura. We are truly privileged in terms of our geographical location and we do encourage all our guests to do some sightseeing and sample the cultural and historical delights that this wonderful region has to offer.

We eagerly await your return and very much look forward to providing you and your family with many more memorable holidays.

Spent 9 nights here in June with our 2 year old and WOW, we loved every single minute.

The staff of this hotel are phenomenal. So polite and attentive across the board from beginning to end. Nothing is too much trouble.

We accompanied our daughter to Paradise Island every day and this is a brilliant part of the hotel as there is so much for kids to do. The staff, again, are second to none.

We were bed and breakfast but ate in the bar a few evenings and the food was always great.

Honestly I truly recommend this hotel and already I cannot wait to return!!

I stayed at the hotel with my 10 year old son over June Half term.

Good points:
- lovely breakfast with vast selection as is custom for Hilton Hotels
- clean pools, polite pool staff regularly checking for drinks orders etc
- polite bus driver to take you to beach/town
- the Spa if fantastic. Great massage with free facial (offer was on) which meant my son and I could use the sauna's, whirl pools etc for free.

Bad points:
- A beach sun lounger for the day costs 15 Euros! I have stayed at Hilton hotels all over the world but have never been asked to pay to sit on a plastic sun lounger... It also costs 1 Euro for a 4 minute shower (in the Hilton beach club). This is just plain annoying. Also no bar service whilst you pay 15 Euros to sit on the beach sun loungers... I queried my bill at the end of my stay because I was told that children would be half price. The man at reception said this was not the case... but eventually settled to charge me for one and a half persons for the two days we spent body boarding on Falesia beach.

- A wedding was taking place the night we arrived. Our room was situated adjacent to the wedding area and the music blasted out until gone midnight. After 2 phone calls to reception the party came to an end. The next day I spoke to the hotel manager who explained that if a wedding is on then there is 'nothing they can do'. We were offered free dinner one night in the hotel restaurant which we accepted. This is the least that could be done.

- The childrens indoor pool shut after two days of our stay for repairs. This was slightly annoying as it was the only pool that had any shade and was essential for children to escape the sun.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Hilton Vilamoura for your holiday and for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor.

I was very pleased to learn that you enjoyed the Hilton breakfast experience, the pool service and cleanliness of pools, the shuttle service to the beach/town and spa facilities.

However, I realize that unfortunately we didn’t entirely live up to your expectations!

I would like to offer some clarity with regards to the sun loungers at the beach. If you consider that guests at all other hotels and beach concessions are paying for this service in all the region’s beaches, I believe you will find it is not so unreasonable that we are charging our guests as well. In addition, included in the price we offer a bottle of water, a snack and a printed newspaper together with beach towels. Children only pay half price as you rightfully mention and we apologize for the confusion at reception.

I can also understand the inconvenience caused by having to close the covered pool for repairs. Although I’m afraid we had to plan our yearly maintenance and could not leave it until a later date.

I sincerely apologise for all the inconveniences caused to you during your stay, including the noise on the first night, but we are constantly changing and adapting our service and products to improve the guest experience and I hope to welcome you and your son back in the future to experience this for yourselves.

Kind regards,

David Ecija
