“Kirkenes refuge 8-)”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

I'd had an exhausting 3 flights to get there, so perhaps it seemed better than it was, but I liked it best of the hotels I stayed in on my last trip, most of which was a lovely Hurtigruten cruise. I stayed two nights to give myself time to recover from the flights. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the room was great, and the lounge downstairs with coffee, comfortable upholstered furniture, and internet access where I did much of my recovering was a great advantage I hadn't expected. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and the other meals I had there were also excellent.

Stayed there for 1 night but liked it very much.
Hotel is very clean and some reconstruction has lately been finished.
The rooms are done in a very nice northern stylish way.
Sauna, Pool and Steambath was a great experience and it was all nicely done.
Super friendly staff
Looks like everybody is connected with each other in this little town.
Came back from a Quad Safari and the driver new everybody.

The hotel is great for a night or two. I arrived late evening and I don't think the person in the reception had worked there for long. She did not know time for breakfast and had to look at the sign that were put up on the reception, he also couldn't explain very well where I could get food on a Sunday. Besides of a "low" welcome the hotel is clean, basic and nice for one night. Only Norwegian TV-channels on the TV

We stayed here for 1 night after leaving the Hurtigruten ferry. The room was clean and comfortable. The sauna, steam room and swimming pool were lovely. Breakfast the next morning was great, a good range of food with lovely presentation.

This hotel is located in the City Sentrum, near several restaurants, pubs and stores. There is a very nice restaurant in the hotel and the complimentary breakfast is pretty good. The rooms were clean, but they all had a strong odor of burnt wood. It could be due to the "salty air" being stagnant in the rooms, but still we had to air out the rooms a bit when we first checked in.

The staff is very friendly and willing to help with booking of tours. In addition they provide complimentary bicycles to use and tour the area. They also have ample parking, which came in handy since we had a rental van.

This hotel offered friendly service and an excellent restaurant.

The town itself is very quiet with little to do but we did find a good restaurant bar for a tasty pizza on the second night. Good location for exploring the local coastline as far as the Russian border, and the local museum is highly recommended.

We stayed here for one night before catching our flight following a trip on a Hurtigruten ship. The staff were helpful and courteous and the restaurant was very acceptable. The rooms were of a good size. The fact that the airport shuttle stopped outside was a bonus but it was NK85 per person.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near the lifts if you sleep lightly
