“No place to remember”
Reviewed 21 October 2010

Everything is close to average about this hotel, so it is a place to sleep-and-go. Several nice persons in the staff was a plus. The resturant is not got, neither the food nor the service. But there is no alternative around the hotel. The hotel is located rather far outside the city center. The rooms are average, the bed too soft. Several items in the mini-bar had expired best-before date both times I stayed there. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel for the Rygge airport which is rather convenient.

I was on a job conference at this hotel, and did not pay for the stay on my own. This I am quite happy for. The bathroom was not cleaned at all, and it smelled pee! The bed was too soft, so I slept bad. On the positive side I can mention the size of the room, the breakfast and lunch buffet.

The conference facilities was quite ok, but my company did got a too small room compare to the amount of people we was. The air in this room got terrible very fast...

I did not got time to use the swimmingpools, but they looked nice.

Hotel looked good on website but did not really resemble what I saw when I got there.
It's amazing that you have to pay well over £100 for hotels as basic as this.
I thought it would be okay, a small town, warm service but certainly not a hotel I would go back to.

I stay here every so often when on business in the newly opened Rygge Airport about 25km away.

Firstly, staff are excellent. Never a delay, never a hassle, English fluency is superb, not just the few rehearsed "hotel" sentences. Secondly, rooms small but absolutely the most comortable beds you'll find almost anywhere. Really aids a good sleep.

Food and drink (both alcoholic and non alcoholic) is expensive bbut I have to remind people that this is Norway which is renowned for high prices and in fairness I think the hotel is as reasonable as can be when this is kept in mind. You must remember as a benchmark that even a humble mcdonalds meal costs almost €12 compared to stg£3.89 in UK.

Lastly all I can say is this hotel really is in the middle of nowhere. Sure it's conveniently located to the E6, but that's it. It only suits a business person who needs a place to sleep. This is almost nothing in the vicinity except a supermarket and a Turkish style kebab shop. One must have transport, and with regards to any tourist attractions the hotel really is in no mans land. Also lastly, most websites including their own site, states free wifi available. What they don't mention is while this is true you simply get a 12 hour password stratchcard which gives you one device and is a little annoying to have to blag a new card everyday

Upon driving twice around the hotel in order to find the hotel entrance, most probably environmental thoughts maybe were the cause of the dark lighted main entrance. We were welcome by a very service minded young lady. Our room on 3rd floor was of their newest rooms, nothing special, but okay for one night`s stay. We used the short path to the supermarket shop which should be illuminated, and less "decorated" with garbage (somebody should see to it that all garbage is getting removed) - when we left the hotel, we saw the road full of holes and we praised ourselves lucky not to having hit into one of those - alltogether, we would not call this hotel a resort (may be the hotel management should spend some days off at a truly resort hotel). The hotel is more like a motor hotel with an outstanding swimmingpool area. Their breakfast buffet is okay but it caters more to a big conventions than to an elderly couple enjoying breakfast before moving on to Sweden.

This hotel is situated almost in an intersection, very close to the main road between Oslo and Gothenburg (E 6). On one side the heavily trafficed E6, on two other sides local access road towards Sarpsborg. Don't expect a quiet room with a great view, at least it's kind of noisy if you open the window. And there's absolutely no view, you'll see roads and industrial areas. With window closed the noise is no problem though. The hotel is good for business events, and this is probably their main business during the week. There's a great pool-area at the hotel and in the weekends that's probably the main reason for staying, well suited for children. Staff is polite and provide a good and professional service. Food is great, both dinner, lunch and breakfast. The dining room is not very good in my opinion, a table for 2 or 4 wasn't an option here - a table for 25 is where you're seated. They maybe do otherwise during weekends. Convenient shops right next to the hotel, but because of heavy traffic it's not where you let your kids go to get a soda pop. And you definately don't let them have one from the minibar, unless you're having trouble getting rid of all your money. Expensive! Room was smallish but nice, bathroom kind of small with a tiny, tiny shower. Had a twin, seating option was either bed or a single chair, there's no table but a desk. TV, minibar, hairdryer and the normal stuff you expect to find in room. Be aware of construction work - the hotel is expanding their capasity and construction work will take place until october 2008. Didn't hear much of it, probably because of the noise from heavy traffic? I'll recommend this hotel for a one night stay if you're on your way to or from Oslo by car and travel with kids (bring your wallet, there's a surcharge for the pool, about EUR 12 for adults). I also find the hotel convenient for business meetings. For all other reasons any option would probably be a better one. Unless you're extremely interested in watching passing vehicles that is.
