“Much Better with New Ownership”
Reviewed 10 July 2012

Thank goodness the Lime Tree is under new ownership. We went there for a snack at lunchtime today as we had heard it had been taken over, and my goodness what a difference. Friendly staff, smiling and happy. The place was packed so we sat outside which was lovely. The food was superb as was the cake and coffee afterwards. Well done Lime Tree, you got there in the end.

“Well we did give it another chance”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

We visited the Lime Tree for a second time today, with much trepidation. Unfortunately our experience was very similar to my last review. The blonde lady behind the counter looked like she was sucking lemons, and couldn't bring a smile to her face when taking my order. The tall gentleman, who I presume is her husband, looked like he just didn't want to be there. How can a couple run a pretty little coffee shop, with no competition in the village at all, and just expect customers to come in to such a hostile atmosphere? How much does it take to smile to a customer, say please and thank you, and "How is the food, is everything OK?" instead of just walking past as if we weren't there. I am sorry but customer service is at an all time low in this place, surely Mr and Mrs Lime Tree must read these reports and make changes. And they are looking for staff ! Oh dear, pity the poor waitress. Not a happy place at all.

“Friendly, top quality produce, lovely atmosphere”
Reviewed 16 August 2011

Was in the area on business, found the Lime Tree on the internet as needed some breakfast. Very impressed, clean bright and fresh interior, lovely crockery (my tea cup was warm, fantastic), friendly service, top quality tea. Produce on sale looked fantastic too (there's a chilled deli area with cheese, meats, pies etc.). Couldn't fault it, will definitely visit again if in the area.

“Go Elsewhere if you are Hungry”
Reviewed 17 August 2010

The Lime Tree is well laid out with an interesting deli counter and good choice of foodie bits to buy. However don't go there if you are hungry or want your food served in the correct order. Our coffee came half an hour before our salas (how long does it take to prepare a cold salad and a sandwich?), then our cake arrived at the same time as our main course ! Unfortunately the owner needs a course in social skills and as she walked past us to go outside, she couldn't bring herself to smile and say "How is the food?" so even though the food, when it arrives, is of good quality, the slow service, and bad customer rapport makes me give The Lime Tree only two stars.

Reviewed 28 September 2009

We are so delighted to have the wonderful Lime Tree coffee shop in Thames Ditton ...It is very clean simple and stylish....We normally start off our wkends here and it is a delight.. if the weather is fine you can dine outside and watch the world go by...Sharon, her husband and her staff do their very best to look after you serving wonderful coffees(the best in the area) pastries, and also great breads ...and sharons homemade cakes are just fantastic and a must....no good for the waistline though !!!! they also do wonderful sandwiches and her deli produce is second to none and also not expensive for the quality....do try this little gem in the sweet village of Thames Ditton...it is worth a visit..we hope you enjoy !!
