I had a lovely visit yesterday, really enjoyed our day out here, wonderful place for a big picnic and plenty for the children to do! I got a bit scared with how close the tigers can get to you with only two bits of caging in the way.
Gift shop was a bit pricey but I guess you sort of expect that.
Didn't see much staff around apart from at feeding time.
Overall lovely day.

Thank Adelaide G

I agree with the last review, went there paid £13.50 and felt let down one of the worst wildlife parks i have been to. It was over after 20 minute walking around, filthy glass on viewing windows and lots of bird mess, and over hanging branches in around the tiger enclosure. If you go to Banham zoom you will see what a good zoo is all about. We will not be visiting Thrigby again, will will save our money, and revisit Banham zoo which deserves full marks for showing how a zoo should be.

A really good day out. The layout is very good, enabling you to really see the animals, particularly the tigers. You can get up really close in perfect safety. Plenty to see for the full day.

We live close to Thrigby Hall but have never been, we had our Niece (3yrs) and Nephew (5yrs) staying for the weekend so decided to have a day at Thrigby Hall.
We arrived 11am and it was a really hot day, which always makes the day seem so much better. As you arrive you get a little map to indicate were every thing is located on the site, the site isn't the biggest but that actually makes the place seem more welcoming. The place even on a really nice hot day wasn't busy so it does allow you to walk around and see everything without having to wait in queues. They do have a number of different animals at Thrigby and some of the biggers cats that you might not see even in the big zoo's.
They are also lots of picnic areas and tables so you have more than enough space to sit down and relax for lunch. We took our own picnic with us but they do have a restaurant onsite that you can use.
As its not that big you could probably walk around all the enclosures within a few hours but if the kids play on the climbing area and you have lunch you could spend most of the day there. As you enter they have a list of the times when they feed specific animals and while they are feeding the staff give a talk about the animals and feeding, breeding programs etc etc.
This is a place to take kids our just go as a couple to relax and enjoy the day.
