“Scooby Doo holiday venue”
Reviewed 3 December 2017 for a stay in November 2017

Ever stayed in an old Kirk in a graveyard overnight in winter ? Well we did!
Our family of 6 adults,5 children and 3 dogs had a week there. We had a great time enjoying a converted church and, a old graveyard to explore during the day and at night. The kids hid in cupboards, behind doors and under sheets scaring their mum,dad and poor old grandparents.
A memorable holiday had by all !!

“Fantastic place to stay.”
Reviewed 12 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The converted church is a stunning place to stay.
Having the pulpit in place is a lovely touch. It oozes charm and quality.
The rooms are really spacious and comfortable and largely well equipped.
There were a few little things that would improve stays for larger groups.
There were only eight chairs around the dining table.
For such a large property the kitchen facilities were a little disappointing. There was only a single oven and four induction hobs. Cooking a meal for ten people could be a challenge.
When we arrived the small outside bin was full and there were four bin bags in the utility room full of the previous weeks rubbish along with flies! The owner, when I called him said that this problem was being addressed.
The area was great for dog walking although the beach was very wet, even when the tide was out. Stout walking boots required!
I would recommend the Powfoot Hotel for a meal. Great food and service.
All in all a lovely place.

“Stunning, tranquil & very well thought out too.”

Some places we've all stayed look nothing like the pictures and you're left feeling short-changed...

Not this place. It is every bit like the pictures if not better. The layout, the colors, the feel just exudes quality. I would 100% recommend it to anyone and everyone.

“You MUST stay here.”
Reviewed 15 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Located in a quiet little village this is not for the party animal. It is however the most amazing property I have ever stayed in. The attention to detail is stunning and the comfort level is astounding. We had 10 adults and 4 dogs over new year and there was more than enough space for us all. The photos do not do it justice.
A lovely mile walk to the coast and there is a lovely hotel for food and light refreshments before returning.
Was I impressed? We are going back in October for a week.

Girls, the only downside is a lack of mirrors in the bedrooms.
Oh, and watch out for the ghost. Seriously, we had a couple of mysterious happenings. Just saying.

“An amazing place to stay”
Reviewed 29 July 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This was an absolutely lovely place to stay, created and maintained to incredibly high standards. We were stunned when we walked in, despite already having seen the pictures. It was so comfy and homely too.
I loved the fact that the kitchen had every single piece of equipment I needed to cook anything I could think of too!
It was great to be just a 20 minute drive from Gretna too, and complemented our elopement up there fantastically.
There is a pleasant walk down to the beach, and it's just a lovely place to take in the Dumfries and Galloway scenery and chill away from it all.
The caretaker was also absolutely lovely when we spoke on the phone too.
