This property is very next to the Kangsabati Dam. You can have a good view of the dam from the hotel. The garden and play area has been maintained properly. Giant chess board is very interesting. Wash rooms could have been maintained more hygienically. Foods were tasty. One disadvantage was you have to order early morning to get the food during breakfast or lunch.

I must say, It was great in every aspect.

Location : Very good. Just on the bank of the Dam on a little elevated landscape. Perfect view of the lake waters. If you are ridding on your car , you need 5 hrs to reach this place from Kolkata. Alternately You can come via Bankura Railway station, boarding on Rupashi Bangla Express. Ask the hotel guy to arrange a pickup. They did it for a Rs. 500/- .It's an hour & Half drive. The Place is in a Village, away from the main bazar Location. The Village itself has lot of staffs to offer, which will add extra flavor to ur stay. Resort is huge , you can look around the resort. Well wooded good gardens.

Rooms : Specious. much better than any other conventional resorts. Beds are good. Bathrooms are specious and kept in good condition. TV is little Oldy . but it's OK.Your Rooms are just on the Garden or on lake front. Sit and relax before your room.

Things of your Child : A hell lot . Enjoy the Giant Chess. They have badminton ground as well as table tennis place.

Food : Awesome. I am fond of Bengali cuisine and never leave Bengali dishes where ever I travel. Fish curry in local style , was wonderful. Chicken dishes are as usual.

Service : Very Good.

Tips :
1. If you are there during the festival seasons of soutali tribe , ask he hotel guys to accompany you to one of the village festivals. It may not be as colorfull , but still lot to learn from their culture.
2. Don't miss the motorized ride to the Dam Bank to the Deer park. Deerpark may not be as good. But the ride on the Van was fantastic for me.
3. Do't miss my Macher Jhol from their restaurant.
4. Ask for a Corporate Discount. You will get atleast 10-15%

Room Tip: Ask for Lake facing rooms.

Peer - less among accomodation in Mukutmanipur. The resort is just next to the lake which has been formed by the barrage at the confluence of Kangsabati and Kumari rivers. The resort has 19 - 20 top class cottages, and has indoor games. The cottages and the facility is well maintained and the staff are quite courteous. The rooms are quite spacious and the rest rooms are clean and are modern. The food at the restaurant " Madal" is top class - you get Tandoor, mughlai, Chinese and Bengali food. Liquor is moderately priced. The resort can arrange pick up and drop from the Bankura station. Look out for discount at off season - April - August. The tariff may be higher than the others in town , but its value for money. You can go boating just from the back side of the resort to Parashnath temple on a hillock and the Banpukuria deer park.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms having rview of the lake

We boarded the morning Rupasibangla Express from Kolkata to Bankura. A car from the resort received us - pretty poorly maintained, with no A/C. The reosrt is about one-and-a-half hours journey from the station.

A beautiful boat ride to see the sunset on River Kansai with a view of the Kansabati Dam, was the high point of our weekend visit to Mukutmanipur in April, 2012.

However, the resort was not upto our expectations. The room was shoddy, with worn-out furnishings. The toilet was basic, but clean. Food did not have much variety. Service was delayed.

One can visit the temple town of Bishnupur on the way back to Kolkata.

The Resort is placed very close to the Dam and one can get a good view of the surrounding green forests and hillocks. Rooms are quite big enough and comfortable with clean tiolets. We stayed in a 4 bed rooms – it’s quite big and comfy – though the walls and decors can be made more appealing – since it is a Peerless Property. Food is excellent and equally good is their service. Resort has good lawns and play arena. Though the Games room needs some more attention. But overall it’s a great place for a quite relaxing weekend.

Room Tip: The Double Rooms close to the River front is a good option. People in groups should opt for the 4 be...
