We had gone there with friends and had a kid in the group too. It took us about an hour and a half from Bankura station.
The location of the hotel is nice. We had rooms next to the water. Very nicely maintained greenery all around. The restaurant had a buffet breakfast, mainly puri sabji, eggs and toast, cornflakes and milk. Had idli sambar one day. The lunch and dinner served was quite tasteful. The chef also agreed to cook according to our likes.
The rooms were cleaned daily. Find one person to give you service. The trick is to tip him well on the first day:). Honestly he gave us very good service. One of us fell sick and he supplied us with whatever we wanted in the room itself. Had hot water and the washrooms were quite clean.
There was a huge chess board, a games room( carom board, dart boardand TT table), kids play area.
You can hire a boat and go around . They too 500INR for 2 hours in the morning. We stopped at the deer park. Hired a vehicle for 100 Rs to get there but was not worth it. Just a few deers roaming around in an enclosure. But overall the boat trip was very enjoyable.
Our train was in the evening . So we made a day trip to Bishnupur on the last day. A few of the temples are nicely maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.
The dam is about 40 mins walking distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms close to the river. The views are nice.

This Place Certainly Deserves The "Caption" I Have Written. A Too Good Property Amidst The Nature Surrounded By Kansabati River, Jungle & Hilly Terrains. You ll Also Figure A Tribal Village Out Next To The Resort. The Staffs And The Resort Manager Are Quite Professional And Friendly. They Treat You As A Guest At Their Own House. I Remember During Our Visit, The Resort Manager Ms Preetha And The Executive Chef Mr Gautam Used To Personally Take Care About Our Food Experience .... The Most Amazing Thing Which I ll Never Forget Happened On Our Day Of Departure... A Strike Was Called By Maoists Out Of Nowhere. Ms Preetha Took No Time To Call Up The Owner Of A Bus That Leaves Mukutmonipur At 4:30 Hrs And Reaches Durgapur Around 7:00 Hrs And Booked The Best Seats For Me & My Wife [ As The Strike Was Supposed To Be Effective From 06:00 Hrs]. Not Only That ...She Offered Her Personal Vehicle To Drop Us At The Bus Stand At 04:15 Hrs...She Also Told Her Driver To Wait There Till Our Bus Departs.... These Are The "Personal Touches" Guests Remember Through Out Their Lives Even After Roaming Around The Nation And World.......

Room Tip: Ask For Cottage No 11.... That's The Best Cottage Of The Resort

This property is very next to the Kangsabati Dam. You can have a good view of the dam from the hotel. The garden and play area has been maintained properly. Giant chess board is very interesting. Wash rooms could have been maintained more hygienically. Foods were tasty. One disadvantage was you have to order early morning to get the food during breakfast or lunch.

I must say, It was great in every aspect.

Location : Very good. Just on the bank of the Dam on a little elevated landscape. Perfect view of the lake waters. If you are ridding on your car , you need 5 hrs to reach this place from Kolkata. Alternately You can come via Bankura Railway station, boarding on Rupashi Bangla Express. Ask the hotel guy to arrange a pickup. They did it for a Rs. 500/- .It's an hour & Half drive. The Place is in a Village, away from the main bazar Location. The Village itself has lot of staffs to offer, which will add extra flavor to ur stay. Resort is huge , you can look around the resort. Well wooded good gardens.

Rooms : Specious. much better than any other conventional resorts. Beds are good. Bathrooms are specious and kept in good condition. TV is little Oldy . but it's OK.Your Rooms are just on the Garden or on lake front. Sit and relax before your room.

Things of your Child : A hell lot . Enjoy the Giant Chess. They have badminton ground as well as table tennis place.

Food : Awesome. I am fond of Bengali cuisine and never leave Bengali dishes where ever I travel. Fish curry in local style , was wonderful. Chicken dishes are as usual.

Service : Very Good.

Tips :
1. If you are there during the festival seasons of soutali tribe , ask he hotel guys to accompany you to one of the village festivals. It may not be as colorfull , but still lot to learn from their culture.
2. Don't miss the motorized ride to the Dam Bank to the Deer park. Deerpark may not be as good. But the ride on the Van was fantastic for me.
3. Do't miss my Macher Jhol from their restaurant.
4. Ask for a Corporate Discount. You will get atleast 10-15%

Room Tip: Ask for Lake facing rooms.

Peer - less among accomodation in Mukutmanipur. The resort is just next to the lake which has been formed by the barrage at the confluence of Kangsabati and Kumari rivers. The resort has 19 - 20 top class cottages, and has indoor games. The cottages and the facility is well maintained and the staff are quite courteous. The rooms are quite spacious and the rest rooms are clean and are modern. The food at the restaurant " Madal" is top class - you get Tandoor, mughlai, Chinese and Bengali food. Liquor is moderately priced. The resort can arrange pick up and drop from the Bankura station. Look out for discount at off season - April - August. The tariff may be higher than the others in town , but its value for money. You can go boating just from the back side of the resort to Parashnath temple on a hillock and the Banpukuria deer park.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms having rview of the lake
