“An oasis of good food”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

The place was booked by a colleague of mines living in Cuneo.
We were there with a russian delegation and we had there a "light" lunch on the way to the next meeting.
We were welcomed by the wife of the business owner and were accomodated in a table well appointed.
We started with small yet delicious appetizers and a Dolcetto wine, and both our eyes and mouth were delighted by the various entrees of local Piedmont food.
We specially asked light portions, because it was terribly hot that day, and we could not eat too much; nevertheless we have really enjoyed everything, including at the end the "sorbetto all'anguria", a sort of ice cream made with watermelon.
A nice unknown place to be recommended specially for couples and small group of friends.

This village restaurant serves only local produces of outstanding quality. Maurizio is a world class chef who decided to cook simple tasty food for locals. His menu a limited, but very well executed selection. Pasta with baby leeks an pork is fabulous, great primi in general, wonderful cheeses and great desserts. The ine list has only the best Piemonte producers. Great service from Sbrina and her team.

“Foody heaven”
Reviewed 27 October 2012

Liked it all, from the warm welcome and help throughout by Sabrina to the sublime food crated by Maurizio. It is truffle season so we were all sampling this wonderful delicacy as part of our tastings. A lasting memory and a hope that we will be able to return to this region next year.

“Attention foodies - don't miss La Speranza in Farigliano!”
Reviewed 6 June 2012

We read the review of this restaurant in a Piedmontese newspaper website (the article was written by the famous critic Edoardo Raspelli), and have to say it completely lived up to our expectation. We left Pocapaglia on our day trip and stopped firstly to visit the Baladin Brewery in Piozzo, where you can taste their excellent beers and they have five beautiful guest rooms, some with originality of having a tiny balcony with views of the village roof tops, in the bathroom. Then we went to the cheese factory in Farigliano but as it was closed for visitors that day, we ended up at La Speranza for lunch. It is located in the main piazza with the church on one side and facing the town hall. Decor is contemporary and comfortable and includes a colourful artwork designed by the owners 2 year old son. Noted also the cheese cabinet with glass sides featuring all of the Cuneo province cheeses. We were warmly greeted by Signora Sabrina and started reading their menu, opting for the 6-course degustation including 3 entrees, gnocchi with Castelmagno cheese, brassato Piedmontese style and choice of desserts. We started with Franciacorta sparkling and continued with Pelaverga di Verduno red. We liked both wines and recommended the red to the table next to us and they agreed with us on the good choice, also being very good value (it was 14 Euro) compared to some Barolo and Barbaresco wines available in restaurants. Worth mentioning were the cauliflower flan served with white truffle shaved at the table, and the zabaglione semi-freddo - both scintilating. At the end the total cost of this treat was nearly 230 Euro for two couples. We don't think you can find similar good value in the big cities.
